I'd hoped that DA2 would move in the opposite direction, and become more like The Witcher in terms of realistic looking weapons and armour. Alas, that was not to be.

I'm hoping that things will look better in future screenshots. For now, the models look okay (thoughly stylistically odd on the Darkspawn armor) and the hair and faces seem to look better. The spell effects definitely look better. The blood looks fairly unrealistic, and the environment looks pretty bad.
I'm not sure where JE comes in even if the director is the same. I really liked the look of that JE and thought the more cartoon look worked for it. I haven't been able to figure out what DA2's look is though. When I see a screen with the characters somewhat far away, it looks like some jagged comic. If that turns out to be so, consider me to not be a fan of the look. But up close like in a dialogue scene, it looks better.
So maybe the combination of seething darkspawn, a dustbowl environment and early builds are making for underwhelming pictures. I look forward to seeing more screenshots to see if things start to look better.

well i can tell you right now how they will be implemented in the game..they will good for an action game...not an rpg...and shore not for a sucsesor of bg and dao...

I like stylized art. I think that Jade Empire was a beautiful game. The current artstyle (from what little has been shown) doesn't remind me of JE or JRPGs, but the covers of the two prequel books written for DA:O.

Well, there are a lot of cool stories that have atypical chronologies. The Elric saga is a dark fantasy that tells you how everything ends before the story starts. So I don't mind the idea of saying "here's what happened; now how did it happen?" I doubt that structure increases mainstream appeal, given that most mainstream products don't have that setup. They've said the PC combat is no different than DAO's in terms of the tactical feel. The console combat is supposed to be more responsive to controllers--what that means no one knows yet. But since the PC isn't changing, the fears that they're trying to make an action hybrid seem premature.

Gaider already said they're not just re-using the Awakening system as it was. As for what they are doing, they haven't said. And where does the idea that there's less interaction come from? There's still party banter and romance options. So it seems like party interaction still matters to the team.

That's probably. But when they talk about this in the GI article the goal is for combat to remain as complicated and to eliminate redundant skills, put more distinctions between the three classes. Some examples of combat changes are being able to customize individual spells to your liking (like fireball) and now allowing rogues and warriors to do combos (as mages could do combos in DAO). On stated example of a cross-class combo for your party was having a warrior sunder armor and then the rogue backstab the vulnerable target.

We don't know the length of the game. Some think the inclusion of VO means the game will be shorter. Maybe it will be. It's hard to say. It's also probably going to be awhile before there's any consensus on the length of the game considering there are still people who argue over how long DAO is.

remember it's EA who is behind, the big money machine who eats small children for breakfast,the only thing they care for is to get the game out fast(doesn't matter if it looks unrealistic) so they can start making those expansion packs, dlc,etc.so they can keep on making more money
this game will lose many fans from the first game,but of course get some new fans,the question are,will it will be enough new fans? doubt it

party interaction still matters to the team? but it will shore be with a lot less! depth from dao1....wahy not like in dao wenn they dont agree with you they can actuly leave and evevn attcak you..? i will not take comfurt in just half of the interaction,,,
