Let's take it with us in our inventory!

Anyway, kids would be nice, but difficult to implement if optional and uproar-raising if not, so I doubt it.

Yes we could keep it in our backpack like Sir pounce alot lol or now that it think of it we could hand it off to the chantry like what happen to alistar and this could have some effect on DA 3 huh huh Posted Image

Could we choose the gender if we had kids or would it be like Sims. God I that agme was annoying in places I got twins, Needed a big house but only had like 1000 simoleons to spare. Anyway I digress. Deeper relationsjips would be greater.

It would be easy enough to have the child go to stay with friend/family member while you were away at battles. That would have been an interesting way to frame the narrative, having someone telling Hawke's child the story ala The Calling.

Yes but it seems the dwarf and Inquisitor have ruined that option Posted Image

If Hawke has kids, they're going to be killed by the villain. Also, his sister. And his dog too.

Also, it's going to be priceless if you can put your kids in your inventory, Baldur's Gate style :D

Tell your kids to hop in the backpack?
No fighting while your inside?
Eat the left over monster guts?
Well it could work.

It is possible Hawke will have children. However, I hope it won´t happen, or at best that you can use contraceptives so it´s optional. I don´t want my Hawke to have children.

Yeah, maybe you can get a mage to put magical wards on your wiener so that when you come, sperm doesn't enter her vagina.

I dunno, sounds like an idea that would be incredibly difficult to execute. Great, Hawke has a kid - what then? What are you going to do now that you've introduced this new character? Are you supposed to take care of this child, is it some sort of plot device put in so that the villain can kidnap it later? Having a child is serious and it's a massive responsibility, if you just introduce something like a child into the game, yet Hawke can go adventuring and having sex with tavern wenches, it sorta defeats the purpose of having it there, I think.

Put Magic on your wiener sounds like a plan to me lol
But as i said before as far has what to do with the child there could be spefic moments where you help shape what the child will be like when he/she grows up like to follow path of good/evil or follow a path of somewhere in the middle or have the option to hand him/her off to the Chantry or Qunari to be raised on there idles

We'd just all look for magical enlargement spells if that were real.

About the whole guiding the child as it grows up and guiding him to "good" or "evil". First, I don't like such a binary choice - why would you want to, say, make your child a degenerate sociopath other than for the lulz? Don't get me wrong, I love seeing ruthless, intelligent, vile and pragmatic villainy, such as offering the demon Connor's soul in exchange for Blood Magic, but I don't like just throwing choices in there with little regard to making them engaging to the player.

I dunno man, seems like it could be really contrived. I'm not sure it would any really interesting dynamic to the game - the child itself isn't interesting on it's own, it's just an excuse to throw in some contrived, binary moral choices to give the illusion of depth.

However, even if all of this weren't an issue, it still wouldn't be feasible because the story takes place over a ten year timeline. It's not like you'd be able to see the person that they'd become in this time since they're still just children.

Well you never know the magic could have side effects like a certain bodypart becoming smaller lol
Well i did say good evil or somewhere in the middle plus it does not have to be a sociopath if you raise him/her to follow the ends justifies the means route or follow do on to otheres as they would on to you route.
And yes since it takes place over a ten year period you can watch him/her grow up to that point which could then lead to a new type of ending or option in a DA 3 or something.
Plus the most important thing we all ways do it for the LULZ  Posted Image

Yeah, but, how would it make the game better? What kind of consequences would it have in-game? Honestly, it sounds like something gimmicky that Peter Molyneux would come up with. A good rule of thumb to have is that if it sounds like something Peter Molyneux would think of, don't do it.

Well it should but now that i think of it if one played as a female Hawke it might be kinda of strange being pregnant and going into battle lolPosted Image

Pregnant Ninja-Lady of War thinks otherwise, my friend.

Heheh... if you could have a child with your love interest, it would be cool to play that child in DA3. And then meet up with Morrigan's kid. And then they fall in love. Ill-fated, doomed darkspawn-breeding love. Awww!

One a more serious note, pregnancy could work, but it's probably better as an optional cherry-on-the-sundae thing for the epilogue or late-game.

Well it would be like having another companion but one who's story you could play a part in molding

It's shallow, though. The companion itself isn't interesting because it's a blank slate, influence systems have been done way better already (even if they're woefully lacking still), there are no lasting consequences for decisions you make for this companion (unlike in Dragon Age, where pissing off a companion might make them turn on you, or the Alistair/Loghain situation), and it just reeks of gimmicky nonsense that doesn't give a reason for the player to really care. Dragon Age already does this, but in a far deeper and more well-developed manner already with companions, particularly Leliana and Alistair, where you can change their outlook on life. Now I have my own gripes with the approval system and how the whole 'hardening' thing was handled, but it was much, much better than just saddling the player up with a kid and making some binary morality choices that you're told will somehow influence how they'll turn out, but because of the ten year time-frame, you'll never really see any consequences for in-game.

This type of stuff is fine in The Sims, but in an RPG that wants to take itself seriously, it's laughable.

The fact that it is a blank slate is what makes it potentially interesting, plus if there are no lasting consequences why have the choice to make a God Baby with morrigon or why have the Dwarf noble charcater have the option to have a child and take his place as a noble. This is already in the franchise so i am not bringing this out of left field so i cannot see why this is laughable in a serious RPG SINCE IT IS ALREADY AN OPTION IN THE FIRST GAME but instead of leaving it as is maybe in part 2 the player can do more just a thought.
