The Grey Wardens still exist, but the player will not be one. They want to tell a different story.ZxSwifty wrote...

Going to the forums to explain why you're not buying a game makes perfect sense. When Ubisoft came out with their new DRM solution, I went to their forums and joined the long list of people telling them why we won't be buying their games and what they can do to get us back (take a different approach with DRM).Avaflame wrote...
I don't understand why you would make a thread about not buying a game? If you're uninterested in the game, why be on the forums at all; let alone mention it? Just don't buy it and move on.
Now, when you're also announcing that there is no way you'll ever buy another Bioware game under any condition... that doesn't make so much sense.

So long as they continue producing quality material, yes I will. My ability to enjoy something is not - thankfully - defined by your inability to accept that change isn't always bad.
Ofc change isn't always bad, but that doesn't make it always good either . Each can judge for him/her-self if it's good or bad .
I did not start this thread, to argue with other players. I started it to let Bioware know about my opinion , a consumer, and other players that think like me have a place to show it .
This is not about right or wrong, this is a matter of preference, so just because you do not care about the changes that DA:2 will bring, or should i rather say what it will : remove, doesn't mean you have to force that view on me . So this is a thread where people that do not like the changes can let Bioware know about it .
That is all .

Oh come on, it's the same old thread: One person denounces the game for crap, the others try to refute that claim, no one convinces anyone. You could practically script these things by now, might as well just go with the flow ... besides, it gives people something to do while they're bored.

I did not denounce the game as crap. I just said that not letting me continue "my" warden and its choices killed it for me . Just because they slaped DA:2 on it , doesn't mean it is . Considering the information so far, they could just call the game something else and it will not make any diference .
DA:2 looks for all intended purpose a filler sequel , I for one am not into fillers = will not buy it . Maybe i will buy DA:3 or 4th if they decide to continue the story unveiled in DA:O, and i still care about Dragon Age in 5+ years or so, it will probably take .

So you don't buy any games that aren't sequels? Because you play a "nobody" in every non-sequel game.watthefu wrote...
Why would I buy a game, where I play a “nobody” , literally 0 attachment to the main character
You can tell that DA2's quality is worse than DAO's quality because it has a different protagonist. Makes sense.I for one do not buy stuff ( in this case a game) just because its new, disregarding its quality and content
So a sequel must have the same main character to earn the right of being called <franchise name><number/fancy sub-title>? They need to rename NWN2, Fallout 2, VtM:Bloodlines and all TES games then.Just because they slaped DA:2 on it , doesn't mean it is. Considering the information so far, they could just call the game something else and it will not make any diference.
And just how were you able to make such a conclusion? Again, were NWN2, Fallout 2 etc. fillers because you couldn't continue to play your old character?DA:2 looks for all intended purpose a filler sequel , I for one am not into fillers = will not buy it.
It's not like I approve of all the changes towards making DA2 a "Dragon Effect" game, but seriously, not playing as the Warden is not the biggest concern right now.

Okay, but how is it any different than any of the other threads that do the exact same thing?watthefu wrote...

What makes you think that aspects of the story that started in DAO won't continue in DA2? The Grey Warden may have been around for part of it, but that doesn't mean he'll have anything further to do with it.watthefu wrote...

Here's a quote from the Game Informer article:
Will we see any characters from Origins in Dragon Age II? "We are certainly not done with Morrigan's story," hints lead designer Mike Laidlaw. "I can say that."
That, plus the fact that we know that Flemeth will play a role in DA2 suggests that some of the loose ends in Origins will have an effect on DA2.

for Origins before the game comes out.
And with the 2 1 2011
things still unanswered there is bound to be more to come. I HOPE our warden's story is over before the next game. The
DLC and expansions need to lead into this new game, and it will be fun
to see what they do.

it is just like music, everyone likes music, just different ones, and despite the difference in tastes they still try to convince the others that they know which one is the best of all of them. Also, no matter how much music one listens to, you still don't stop to listen to it after 1-2 years.

Sorry, but I stopped reading here.watthefu wrote...
For the sole reason of not being able to continue my character and decisions from DA:O .
If you're not going to buy a game and make a topic about it, then at least have a good reason. The reason you gave is poor. BioWare have never claimed that your Warden will continue into Dragon Age 2 (your choices will, I think), and to not buy it because of that is ridiculous. There are so few sequels that allow you to carry your character on, and I don't see why Dragon Age 2 has to be one.
