I like having game elements that mix it up--challenges besides fighting. Am I good at these things? No, I'm really not, but it broadens the scope of the game, and that's always a good thing.

No riddles.

Games should be replayed, riddles and plot twists are only enjoyable once.

Actually, good point. I'm playing NIER right now and god, these guys love riddles, included a lot of them in game, problem is riddles don't really belong to videogames.

Also, hated puzzles. Solved em all, sure, including the one in Wending Woods without any external help, but god I hate em.

In an ideal world, riddles are great so long as the situation calls for it, but never for the sake of putting in a puzzle. If it doesn't make sense in the context of what's going on, it should be handled with either stat checks (Cunning, let's say) or by using information you've learned elsewhere by talking to people, reading a book, etc.

I'm not asking for riddles after riddles but the game takes place over 10 years... there's gotta be a few more riddles than DA1

I don't think they were intended to be brainteasers -- they're a form of dialogue that engages the player in a slightly different way, that's all. A way of shifting the tone and bringing a bit of fairy-tale flavor to a dungeon.

And I really don't see how putting multiple-choice answers on a wheel rather than a list would interfere with answering riddles -- especially since the answers to Bioware's riddles are almost always very short tags -- "a mirror," "the moon," "your shadow," etc.

The problem is it feels a little like a cheat. One of the few riddles in the Andraste quest I had trouble with was the Elf who was describing an Alienage. I didn't get at first and would not have gotten it unless I saw it written in the multiple responses below. It's not a big problem, but I would personally have preferred to think about it a bit more instead of have the answer handy right there.

Besides, the great part is, you don't actually need to solve the riddle to continue with the quest. Even if you give the wrong answer, you just kill the Ash Wraith and move on.
