You can type in terminal ( in case you use this trick again )

open ~/library/

or anything for that matter. I think what you are looking at is called "goto folder..." which is a menu item in the finder.

Once you have it open you can make an alias ( shortcut )  of it, or drag it to the left side of your finder window ( not sure what that is called ) to work as a favorite so you can quickly get back there.

Yeap, just as you said. It's the exact same kind of directory than the usual only hiding, but now seating in that finder left side as quick aliases.
I was even able to play a save game from my former french 1.12 version with that fully updated english 1.23 version, even enjoying my (already) special override.
Now my kids can play the french one while my own savedgames are safely hidden from their claws!
Fun.

Thanks again!

It seems I spend a lot of time here requesting help and all I can say is thank you!

Here's my latest problem. I'm trying to play Swords and Sorcery and it's supposed to be single player or multi, but I can't get any of my characters imported into the game. If I go to the roster it's empty and if I try the rs code it says I'm successful, but nothing happens. This happened once before and I ended up doing the mod solo, but I'd really like to have some companions for this. Can anybody tell me how to get them into the game?

Thanks!

Karen :)

Hello.

I'm having trouble since upgrading to Lion. Basically NWN 2 crashes to desktop frequently when entering a new area/building/dungeon etc. I have learned to save frequently before and after entering new areas.

Unfortunately I'm now stuck. After completing Highcliff, I have my final conversation with the village elder, I board the ship to Neverwinter. There is a cut-scene with Zaerie and her minions, then the game tries to load the next area. It gets to "11 out of 11 areas loaded" then crashes to desktop. Every time, it's the same thing.

Does this game just not work with Lion? I have the latest NWN 2 patch for mac - 1.12.1295.

Anything else I can try?

For anyone else having this trouble, I found a way around it.

Prior to the talking to the Highcliff elder (and triggering the two cut-scenes), I turned the screen setting to a low resolution. It then made it through the two cut-scenes and brought me to Neverwinter docks. I then turned the resolution back up to where I'd been.

No you don't. The Mac App Store version was/is fully patched. If you have the disc version then you need to download the 1.23 patch from Aspyr available here.

Is anyone else here experiencing numerous random crashes since 10.6.8 and above? I am playing with a manual installation of Storm of Zehir, MoTB, and Westgate. However, the issue occurs on vanilla installs (without expansions) for me as well. I am playing on an early 2011 17'' Macbook Pro in case anyone is interested.

I just noticed your post. I am having a similar issue on my end too, I play in 10.6.8 though. Mine crashes during area transitions most often, however, it does crash during gameplay for me as wel.

Ran this under Mountain Lion and had graphical errors with a GTX580 but ran great using a ATI 6870. Has anyone else tried this using an nVidia based card?

I'm stuck in MotB in the Death God's Vault on my 2009 iMac (10.6.8) as neither my characters, enemies nor doors are visible. And the doors actually don't let me exit either. MotB has been fine up to now in my manual installation so I figured that this was some sort of missing graphic file that hadn't been used in the earlier parts of the game, but I've doublechecked the installation instructions and I had everything done right as best that I can tell.

Has anyone had similar problems?

I'm I'm on an imac G5 - OS 10.6.8 and have Motb and Soz installed

I'm in chapter 2 of Raiders of the lost tomes and just started to have crashing problems. This is a first for me after all these years. Whenever I save I'm dumped to the desktop - no error code given. Before the crashing started I noticed it was taking a very long time for the game to save - and the mod to load. I put in a backup of the saved game, but I'm still getting the same problem. Any ideas?

Any help would be greatly apprecaited! I hate to quit this campaign after putting in so much time lol!

Thanks,

Karen : )

sturmvogel66, sorry but I didn't see your request when I left mine.

it happens to everyone on a mac. Just change your graphic settings to a different resolution and you'll be able to see everything. Put it back the way you had it after you leave the vault.

I just bought a new MacBook running Mountain Lion. NwN2 "runs" technically, but the graphics are all blurry with a blue overcast, rendering the game unplayable. Is there a patch to fix this, or is one in the works?

There seem to be a lot of problems playing games with Lion, that's why I haven't upgraded. I would suggest contacting Apple about it.

I think the issues are related to nVidia more than Lion or ML. It is the newest nVidia drivers broke NWN2 on the MAC under Lion and ML.

I'm hoping one of you can help me. I finally got Mow installed and must admit I was a little disappointed, especially in the end. There isn't going to be a part 2 is there?

My real question though concerns the files I installed. I've been told I can leave the pack in, but the campaign is in the campaign folder in documents and the mods are in docs too. How do I install another campaign in the same folder, or other mods?

Thanks!

Campaigns always have a folder of their own and would be installed in the same folder that the MoW campaign is installed in. Mods have to have unique names because they are always installed in the same Mods folder.

There shouldn't be any reason to uninstall or move teh MoW files to install other campaigns.

Hope that answers your question,

Regards

Thanks Kaldor! That's exactly what I wanted to know - I didn't know if the files would interfere when playing other mods.

Happy holidays!

Hello,
I have a system/technical question:

I just upgraded computers, which meant I took my Wineskin emulator of the Windows version of NWN2—to play on a Macbook—and copied it from the old to the new system.

However, when I logged in for the first time onto a PW I frequent, I was shocked to find I can no longer see PC hoods nor hood+mask head appearances from the Arsan Hood Pak.

The only thing that is different between the old and new computer systems are:

1.  Old has OS 10.6.8, the new has OS 10.8.2
2.  Old has Nvidia FeForce 9600 GT card, the new has an AMD Radeon HD 6770M

I've cleared out my overrides (nothing in them anyway), and I even went so far as to delete all the game hak files from the PW, then re-download...but that did nothing for me.

All other head gear appearances available work BUT the hoods and the hood+masks from Arsan Hoods.

Could there possibly be code in these hoods that makes them un-viewable because of the AMD graphics card, OpenGL drives, or the OS itself?  Friends and I have tried contacting Arsan himself, but without luck.

Thanks.

Hi there! So, I am having issues with the NWN2 as well. I had the same issues with crashing and I am running a Retina MacBook Pro (early 2013, 8GB of memory) with OS X Mavericks. But I am also having some PVP issues as well. Hostiles no longer attack me and my companions no longer help me. This is after bringing in the other two expansion packs and Westgate.

have you tried installing TonyK's AI ( compmonai2.2.zip ) from the Vault?

I mean, Tony's isn't specifically designed to fix a shutdown of the AI like in your video, but extra files in \\Override could give things a nudge

here's a thread i came across that may or may not be related...

Well, since adding that to my Override folder, the game now crashes mid-combat.

huh.. on the good side, they wanted to fight

Is that the entire contents of /Override? (note you should create a subfolder "TonyAI" or something to put those files into)

unfortunately i'm not familiar with Macs but understand they get touchy with NwN2; there are threads where Kaldor, Frosty44 and several others have hashed over difficulties. I haven't heard of such an outright crash though!

which, as a PC user, leads me to believe there are installation problems. Suggest uninstalling, cleaning and defragging, reinstall OC (when there weren't any problems?) try things with TonyK's ... then move on to installing MotB + SoZ

Before that, you can try renaming your 'player folder' : the "Neverwinter Nights 2" folder under MyDocuments on a PC. The game should create a new, default one to test with.

- and have you patched to v1.23 ? I don't think the patch servers are still active but there's a Patching Information thread. (as a side, I didn't think MotB+SoZ were even available for Mac, so my advice is at best generic)

- lastly, do you have the Mac equivalent of Dx9.0c installed ? The game can crash on PC without it

Well, the only problem I had with OC only install was that the program would crash during transition. I have a No CD patch, but that's more justifiable when you have a Retina MacBook Pro which has no optical drive.

I think if it's time to reinstall NWN2, I am going to have to build a PC and install NWN2 on there to test. Plus, I want to play the original NWN again and Parallels ain't doing it for me. And yes, I have patched to 1.23. I am also running OS X 10.9, Mavericks.
