I do not get this notion of "lets be supportive of Bioware" like they are my best bud who just got dumped his girlfriend.

You make a good game, you get my $60. You make a bad game, you get zilch. For me, that's the way it has always been.

End of story.

I absolutely agree with you.

It's almost as if they're inferring things you didn't even say, or reading a tone into what you've written that you never intended. It's clearly very unfair that they would do this to you, I agree.

I am not amused.

Hahahahaha......the irony is quite epic right there.

I actually find it very childish and expected.

Why? Because he shows understanding you didn't? You have to face it that you are doing the same thing with your DA2 complaints as the ones accusing you of speaking about a conspiracy against hardcore gamers.

Nothing I have ever posted even remotely suggests or implies anything to do a conspiracy; that is utter fabrication.

Perhaps you need assistance with the definition of:

conspiracy |kənˈspirəsē|noun ( pl. -cies)a secret plan by a group to do something unlawful or harmful

Of course it'd be less fun if your Elf or Dwarf was never able to get any kind of acclaim at all because they were an elf or a dwarf regardless of what they actually did.  Until the player got so mad they started attacking the people who'd stolen the credit for their actions and then was subdued by the Kirkwall guard, thown into prison, uncerimoniously hanged and dumped into an unmarked grave while some Human becomes Champion of Kirkwall... :o

Actually, all that actually sounds like possibly being fun, if well executed - well except the execution part.
Hunted and hated can be just as fun in my own opinion. ;)

Yeah it could be, but I don't think its going to happen...just like we don't really see the option to join the villain and raze the lands .

Tirigon wrote...
Or
my Arcane Warrior Bloodmage Elf singlehandedly kills or mindcontrols
the entire Kirkwall guard, declares herself Champion and has every
racist ass in the country hanged.
That is actually a much more
probable outcome.

Or this...which also would be fun, but I don't think video game RPGs are ready for that kind of adaptability yet.

For better or
worse, throwing a "2" on something creates the expectation that its
going to continue the story set up in the "1" of the same name.  And I
think that's where the problem a lot of players are having.

Why
do people expect that?  KotOR2 didn't, Fallout 2 didn't, even NWN1's
expansions didn't, let alone NWN2. Of the NWN2 expansions, MotB did but
SoZ didn't.

I think a lot of things didn't but a lot did; I just think there's an inherent idea - rightly or wrongly - that 2 implies the same people are going to be involved (ie characters or setting).

I understand that just fine and that was precisely my point......your complints about DA2 did the exact SAME thing.....they built assumptions about things that were clearly not said.

Not said by whom? Your statement does not make any sense. My posts are about my own personal opinions and nothing else and I am certainly not trying to imply anything other than what I state.

So which are you suggesting-- that our marketing department's sole purpose should be to win over the fans on these forums? Or that you believe the fans on these forums are representative of all consumers who purchase products developed by EA & BioWare? Because it really seems like your response is suggesting one of these things.

Nobody buys anything from EA as a developer. If you hadn't noticed, that ship is sinking. I sincerely hope you aren't taking advice from them. If you really want to be tied together with  EA then I have no problems boycotting you also.

Honestly, yes. But not for the reason you suspect. I may actually end up agreeing with you on your points. Its just that this thread was started by those who wanted to Cheer up the Devs..... I was only going to point out that if you want to criticize them, please start a new thread. There I can read your arguments and cheer or Boo you accordingly....

They are my opinions, non-the-less, whether you agree with them or not and are always expressed in a very articulate manner. I do not believe in brown-nosing or the need to sugar-coat my views. I certainly do not condemn the views of others, only oppose those that make false, childish statements.

I'd rather have a grand new epic adventure each time, rather than just stick with the same characters.

I think the setting and background of the Dragon Age universe has so much in it to explore and develop, why stick with one little Blight time period in Ferelden?

I feel the same way--I'm actually rather happy that DA2 lets us make a new character.  I've always felt making new characters is a lot of fun.

I just want to say to the devs to keep their hearts up despite all the flak they are getting about the changes to DA2. While I admit I am a little concerned about the changes, I trust that Bioware will continue to make the same great games they always have. Don't get discourage because of all the flames you are receiving. You have made great games and you will continue to do so. Keep up the amazing work.

To everyone else, please support the devs. They work hard to provide us with awesome entertainment. Be glad that they are devoted to such excellence.

I don't mean to fill the forum with more clutter, but I felt that the devs need some support and encouragement after all the junk I have read people saying about them.

Once again, Keep up the amazing work devs!

I use to hate Baldur's Gate, but now I like it a whole lot. Even though I didn't like MDK 2 a whole lot I still liked some aspects of it. Shattered Steel was also interesting. I give 2 thumbs up to bioware
