But will there be a new art style for DA?Helena Tylena wrote...

As long as I decide how they act and get to be awesome, I'm gravy. I'm not on board with this whole "how dare this Hawke person overshadow my Warden" because... really, it comes down to me overshadowing myself.

alright, by my count so far in this thread it goes:
"Don't care as long as game is good": 13
Hawke: 11
Warden: 4
"Play as Darkspawn": 2
God-Child: 1
Flemeth (lol): 1
But then again it's pretty early. This thread isn't even in it's 5th page yet
In fact, if (when) this thread reaches page 4 I shall return to count the scores again!

Morrigan's child. In case if my Warden from DAO is the father.
A classic "I am your father! - No, that's impossible!" moment would be really appreciated.

Did Shepard feel like an accurate in game representation of yourself (to some he may have been but to me he was not)?

Why would you want to play as the godchild? You would just end up getting bodysnatched by Flemeth.
Thought there could be quite a bit of variety in our definitions of "good".Kritanakom wrote...

I'm not a space marine, so no. I'm not a Grey Warden mage, either, so my Warden was also not an accurate in-game representation of myself.

How did I know somebody would say that?
What I mean is if you were a Space Marine, Mage ect would your in game character an accurate representation of yourself? When I design my main character I try to make him look and act similar to what I would be provided I was put in that role.

That isn't necessarily how I roleplay, and I suspect I'm not the only one. When I create a character (in a video game or for a tabletop game), my goal is not necessarily to make "me" in a different setting. My characters aren't divorced from myself, obviously (I've created them and I'm playing them), but they don't necessarily look the same and act the same way I do.

I can understand that, not all of my characters are based on myself either but my response was directed at an earlier post where the poster said "I'm not on board with this whole "how dare this Hawke person overshadow my Warden" because... really, it comes down to me overshadowing myself." which seemed to imply that his Hawke will be an in game representation of himself...

I see. I didn't take what he/she said so literally. What it comes down to is that we are playing both Hawke and the Warden. The Warden was already badass. If Hawke winds up being more badass than the Warden, it doesn't matter to me because Hawke is also my character.* If an NPC wound up completely overshadowing the PC, that might be a different story.
*I get that some people don't think they can see Hawke as their character, but I disagree with that, and that's a whole debate that I'd rather not go into here.

Well, good thing I didn't, right? And here I thought I could have an intelligent conversation with you....just because you dont doesnt mean everyone else doesnt.
"Everyone else" doesn't. You don't speak for "everyone else."
_-Greywolf-_ wrote...
So what the hell is your point? Do you even have one or are you just here to point out minor spelling mistakes? I was trying to keep the conversation civil but it seems you arent (yes I know it is "aren't") mature enough for a civil conversation so I guess my best bet is to just ignore you like the troll you are.
