Good question. Maybe it´s a production error? I mean, they are based on human, elf, dwarfen or qunari women, all of which have breasts. Maybe the creation just increases the number of breasts together with the size, though it´s not needed?

Hmm... Force feeding a High Dragon Blight Barf would seem kind of pointless if fire is an effective cleansing method of blight corruption. The dragon just has to get a case of heart burn and its cured!



Kind of off the mark here, but now I'm wondering if there is such a thing as aquatic darkspawn, or tainted fish, or anything of that sort. It seems all the Darkspawn and corrupted creatures are all ground based creatures minus the Archdemon.

Most likely for the "Eww. That thing has eight boobs" factor. Also, just in case the fact that it's a giant blue/grey blob with tentacles doesn't show you how corrupt and unnatural it is

It just struck me as odd was all that they had so many breasts which really had no use but I suppose if the artists are "endlessly fascinated" with them then theres no harm done.

Yes, my serious answer to the question is that broodmothers are based off a creature that does have breasts-- so they're going to have vestigial remnants of the creature they once were, now twisted and corrupted, even if they don't need them for their current purpose.

I am curious about something Hespith says.  It's something like, "the men are merciful, they kill, but the women touch..." and goes on to describe how these "women" took Laren and made her eat the others.

In the context it sounds like Hespith is referring to female darkspawn.  I've never seen a darkspawn with sex characteristics, though.  Maybe she means ghouls?

Good. It would make little sense for female wardens to go to the deep roads instead of killing themselves otherwise.

Isn't there a rule of thumb of how many breasts a female member of a species has? I think its something like average birth/litter/whatever size +1. Average human birth is 1 with +1 makes 2, etc.

also they don't have to be useful, radiation can twist the human body too, and I myself consider the taint of darkspawn as a magical radiation

I believe Hespith says that the darkspawn are merciful to the men, because they kill them. But the women...? Well. You saw.

I'm pretty sure she doesn't refer to male or female darkspawn.
