Yes, my serious answer to the question is that broodmothers are based off a creature that does have breasts-- so they're going to have vestigial remnants of the creature they once were, now twisted and corrupted, even if they don't need them for their current purpose.

I think broodmothers can´t reproduce. They create Darkspawn, Darkspawn change women into Broodmothers.

But if broodmothers are created by accelerating the taint, a female warden wouldnt' turn broodmother because that tainting is very slow.

Okay darkspawn spread a taint. The taint corrupts people and turns them into ghouls. some females are turned into Broodmothers, the corruption spawns themseveral breasts they don't need, tentacles and roots them to the ground, they give birth to thousands of darkspawn by reproducing asexually. Currently we don't know if darkspawn age but that immature darkspawn are similiar to childer grubs. The Darkspawn then thus spread there corruption and steal weapons and armour preparing themselves for an attack. darkspawn don't need to eat or feed they can live off of the darkspawn corruption which they spread to those who spend too long near them/ eating drinking part of them, they are infertile. correct?.

The Broodmothers are not "typical" anymore.

well I assume a broodmother has all the remanants of her former self so has a womb for carrying multiple darkspawn hatchlings. There hardly typical mammals though, I mean they don't eat.

She doesn't say anything about female darkspawn. She does say that they are merciful to the males by just killing them. Then she goes on to talk about what they (darkspawn) do to females.

After reading this thread, I come to the conclusion that Bioware must write and long and elaborate Codex entry on Darkspawn in DA2.

This, and added warnings to the ESRB tag on the back of the box where they list why the game is rated M and include: "May induce involuntary regurgitation"

As far as I understood until now actually only broodmother needs to eat as she forms the new darkspawn. It's like... A machine turning swollen mort flesh into fully functional organic bodies...
