You may be human, but in no way does it sound like you'll be of noble birth like in DA:O. Sounds more like the dwarf casteless origin than anything else. End up without a home, start with nothing, have a sister, and you fight for what you can get, ending up as a Champion and then who knows what else?

Agreed, now who is being the racist? Everyone dislikes humans in Dragon Age for some reason but you all have to remember, in DA:O it does not matter what race you were, you are a Grey Warden, and if you take on the role of being a Warden, you will remember that Wardens take help wherever they can get it.
Now, instead of complaining about the ONLY thing that is being restricted in DA: II, let's begin to talk about other apects of DA: II.

Yes, let us talk about the lack of origins then, the other "ONLY" thing

Sorry about the short, tha game engine might not allow for it.All I'm saying is if you play a Mary-Sue human, that's your doing, not the game's. It would be nice if we could still create Hawke's origin from a number of races, and it adds both length and replayability to the game, but it doesn't force you to play one kind of character.
well I did make a human character called Don Quixote (
buts its cooler as a dwarf

Shiala is hardly a kind person to outsiders, those beggars were douchebags for taking advantage of charity, those three who were going to beat up and rob that one human passing through, and the cranky mom in the beginning of the CE origin are some that come to mind. Yes, there were many nice elves, but there were many nice humans as well.

They never said that was going into other DA games. Also, they never said that actions you take in DA:O would transfer into DA2, which is a surprise to me when they said we can do that.
The origins had a nice soft impact in DA:O, but I like the whole 10 year span more, unlike DA:O which was about a year or something.

If they'd started DA:O as a ME clone, it could have been enjoyable. It has however been touted as the BG series successor, it was far enough away from being that originally, I wonder how many sales they think they got because of the BG claim? I wonder if they realize that I've gambled my money on so many of their games(and not even finished some because I didn't like them much, but bought the next one anyways) purely because of Baldurs Gate? I wonder if they realize how many there are out there like me?
Off hand I know 6, personally, from different backgrounds, with different likes in games, but one common thread in that they all loved Baldurs Gate. Those are all lost sales now. You started with something claiming to be the BG successor and was close enough that we could forgive you for the deficiencies. This is going a bit too far. I'm starting to feel a bit like a battered wife here or something, I keep coming back only to get slapped in the face again. This may be a good design change for some, but to a good number of your LOYAL fans this is nothing short of an insult to everything we used to love Bioware for, you don't completely change the point of view in the middle of a tightly knit game series, its like changing it in the middle of a book, go ask a reputable publisher how much of a good idea that is. I purchased ME2, even though I wasn't going to, but haven't finished it. I won't be buying ME3, and I won't be purchasing DA II. I've spent probably over $1000 on bioware products over the years from buying and rebuying products. I lost my BGII discs a few years back, bought the collection, and I've bought everything else in biowares collect, and NWN + xpacs plus then the NWN Diamond pack after I lost 2 of the xpac discs. I didnt even think about bothering to try to pirate it as a "Well I already paid for it once and its old so..." like most I know would. I wanted to support the devs. That was a mistake I see.

Many of us have no idea what you're talking about, here, but in a roleplaying game, you have to clothe people as though they were, you know, people. No magic wardrobe. It's part of the game.

Uhuh, well, can't say I've been keeping up on DA II, other than being aware that its in production... this here being the first thing I've seen on it, I will not be purchasing it, and I've purchased everything Bioware has spit out since the studios creation.

Bioware always have to make sure that go up in the world and not go back down to an old game, they stated Dragon Age is going to be BG's successor not it's clone.

In Mass Effect 2 every companion had their own unique armour set and they would change if you got them loyal, I love Hawke's armour in the screenshots and I don't really want to change it to be frank with all of you because it really suites him.

What? This I must completely disagree with, Mass Effect equipment is horrible, especially in ME2 where there was no companion inventory/equipment, just different skins you can unlock. I pray to God that they don't take something like that and put it into DA, DA:O was fine with equipment.

I prefered Mass Effect 2's armour sets because everyone looked different, in Mass Effect there were so many stupid looking armour it annoyed me, at one point I had Wrex wearing a bright purple armour outfit which was not cool at all.

putting inventory in DAO2 = frustrated children = Bioware loses their largest demographic customer group = no profit

Then keep it. If you're playing on the PC, and if there's a toolkit, you can mod it to a higher level as you progress through the game. But Bioware has a tendency to use the same mesh in different materials, so you'll probably be able to find something very close right through the game. For most people, finding, buying, and upgrading equipment is an enjoyable part of the game, and while many things are changing away from RPG mode, I don't see that changing.KappaOmicron wrote...
