Dialogue wheel: Positive ~hides~

Voiced Protagonist: Cannot decide until i know who will be doing the acting (cautious or uncertain)

New Art Direction: Displeased, as that is the only change to the dev team i know of.

Single Race: Reluctant acceptance.

One Origin: Positive (allows more work in other areas.

Constant ragegasms on this site: A priceless glance into the human mind, and only making me want it more.

Agree with 1, disagree on 2 (prefer voiced), agree on 3, agree on 4 (would rather have more), disagree on five as that was one of the more interesting parts of Origins

on 6 I ragequit

I really loved the origins. But how much work went into them? How much did that detract from the rest of the game?

Some of the Origins were re-used for other areas (like Orzammar the mage origin and the city elf origin). Sure some like the Dalish Elf (which one area I am positive is re-used in RTO) and Highever aren't most of that extra stuff went to writing and recording those lines.

So I do not know of how much went into them or whatnot. But some of the setting, and definately the lore were re-used in the game (again except for Dalish Elf and Human Noble)

Annoyed at apparently losing origin stories, but other than that I'm either happy or optimistic about what we've heard.

Talking with her is not a road I'd go down if I were you.  Unless you agree with everything she says.

Okay, be utterly humorless then. Have fun with that.

Art direction: I'm okay with the way the darkspawn look. The faces of the protagonists look well done. The environments are pretty bad. Hoping it's still a rough draft, but it seems like DA is falling behind graphically... I personally don't mind because I still enjoy Tetris and SNES games, but it does give me a niggling sense of dissatisfaction if I am to play a modern game with not-so-modern graphics.

Single origin, voiced main character: fine with that.

Changes to combat: I use a PC, so hopefully it'll be mostly the same, but I am not unwilling to try new combat mechanics.

Dialog wheel: doesn't really bother me, don't see why they had to change it though. I've never played Mass Effect to see what it's like, though.

Change in location and protagonist: doesn't bother me. Although I'm concerned with the 10 year timeframe and what kind of story it'll have (cuz we know so little about it) and whether transitions through time will break immersion or not.

Overall I chose "too early to judge." Because really, we haven't even gotten a trailer yet, or any real idea of what the story is even about. Except that it's about Hawke, and s/he's all super important and stuff. And Flemeth is there too.

Riona, my apologies if you took that as a serious label. Notice I also used 'Hater' for those who dislike all of it too. Likewise, the term 'Nerd-raging'.

I did notice that.  That's why I said "terms,"  not "term."  On the other hand, you have the word "optimist" there too, which isn't an unflattering term, and would describe me better than "fanboi."

That said, apology accepted.

Wow, OK "person-who-knows-nothing-about-me," I wasn't even talking to you, and yet I struck a nerve apparently.

Heh, no nerve, it's all just kind of sad. People in this thread insult each other at the drop of a hat, and yet someone tries for a little humor and people get bent out of shape. Just pointing out how little fun there is to be had in that.

Oh, I see you've edited to point out that I know nothing about you. Not true! I know you could lighten up a tad. ;) Since when do people respond only when adressed on forums? Or after a formal introduction?

No, you basically called me utterly humorless, which I'm not.  I, on the other hand, didn't insult anyone.

Optimistic: I dislike the new art direction, but the other changes don't worry me.

If you consider me to be "utterly humorless," you know almost nothing, if not nothing.  Better? :)

Thanks to all who have voted so far btw. I'm amazed to have gotten over 100 responses already! And I'm a bit surprised at some of the results so far (given my perception of a lot of the threads and debate over the last couple of days). If the sample size gets large enough, maybe I'll do some (simplistic) analysis :)

Oh my, you really must be new to the interwebz.... Well, I could keep poking fun until your head explodes, but I won't do it. You take everything so gosh darn seriously, it just wouldn't be fair. ;)

It might be a little skewed, since the poll kind of forces you to pick two or all, but it should still provide some food for thought--and maybe a diatribe or two. ;) I think I'll head over to the poll and see what's shaping up to be interesting!
