I have had this problem twice. The first time, I was able to fix it simply by clearing my console's cache. The second time, clearing the cache did not work, but resetting my console's clock did. Yes...I know it sounds absolutely ridiculous, but I found the tip buried somewhere in the EA support pages. I tried searching for it to post a link, but I cannot find the page. If I remember correctly, I turned on my console while not connected to XBOXLive, which reset the clock to the default date/time. I then turned it off, turned it back on while connected to XBOXLive, the clock was updated to the real time, and all of a sudden I could connect to the EA servers again. Hopefully one of those solutions works for you.
EDIT: A step by step explanation of the clock reset process, from EA Support:

- Press the Xbox Guide button on the controller to
enter the Dashboard. - Sign out of Xbox Live by pressing the X
button. - Select the System blade.
- Select Console Settings and press the A
button. - Select Clock and press the A
button. - Change the date to 11/15/2005 and press the A
button to accept.

Seriously? In order to get your console to automatically connect to a bunch of servers (that, incidentally, I don't really want) you have to go through a number of hoops that involves resetting your 360 clock to factory default?
Come on Bioware, this isn't what Xbox Live is all about, is it?
