A question to Mr David Gaidar and other Fans, Do the Qunari have mages?

From what I have read about the Qunari:

These guys aren't just a species, they are kinda Communistic-religious hybrids (this itself being terribly funny) who do not tolerate mages....

We have seen the Dwarves do not have Mages. They don't have gods also.

We know that the Quns do not believe in god/s.

So the particular exact questions I am asking are:

1. Do the Qun's (the Golden skinned tall guys, NOT the converts) have mages too?

2. Can they Enter Fade? EDIT: I mean in dreams.

Please Mr. David Gaider, slake our intellectual thirst (high and mighty words, result of expensive education)....

1.) Yes but they cut out the tounges of mages.

2.)considering that Sten is not surprised about entering the fade during the circle quest, they seem capable of entering

Im pretty sure they can enter the fade....Because if you carry The Sten with you during the Tower part of the main quest in DA:O he is there in the fade and is clearly "unaffected".  And by unaffected I mean that he seemed to know exactly where he was when you encounter him.

^ So these mages are the actual Qun specie? or captured converts?

BTW the grossly ugly practice of tongue cutting is only performed for Maleficarum...

I meant in Dream state... sorry for the lack of clarification... I will edit it to cause no further mis-understanding...

Demons have been known to even transport dwarven consciousness into Fade by force...

I thought Sten said they cut all their mages tongues out, and kept them on leashes (although that last part may have been figurative :)).

I have no good reason to ask... I am just curious about the Qun.

Regular mages may not get their tongue cut, I am unsure on that account. But the collectors edition game-guide says on the topic of the war with the Quanari:

"For all their technology, the Quanari appeared to harbor a great hatred for all thing magical. They possed mages, but these were little better than animals kept on leashes."

That makes it sound like Quanari can be born as mages.

Mind if I sneak my question from the other thread in here? Would like to have David clear this up:

I've always been curious about ogres having horns and qunari apparently not having anything of the sort. The recent timeline of Thedas article on Game Informer seems to imply that they actually did have them at some point. Any chance you could clear this up, oh wise one?

6:30 Steel Age: Whispers reached the lands of Thedas that strange men had arrived in the northern jungle islands of the Boeric Ocean, tall men with horns and ships that fired thunder. These men called themselves “qunari”, and invaded the mainland in a great wave that took humanity by surprise.

Slight sidenote, I had just recently brought Sten to the Circle Tower for the first time (as I don't really use Sten all that often), and his position on mages was the most I've ever gotten out of him.

Sten: An unbound mage is like a wildfire. As prone to consume itself as it is to devour all that surrounds it.

So it sounds like he justifies their imprisonment by saying they have a place and must be protected from their nature.

Sten: It means I find myself wishing that your people held proper, civilized attitudes towards magic.

He's talking to Morrigan.  Is he talking about humans and criticizing the Circle (unlikely given his people's treatment of mages), or is he criticizing something more specific to Morrigan like shapeshifters or apostates?

Wynne: I do not understand. Do the qunari have no female mages? No female warriors?
Sten: Of course not. Why would our women wish to be men?

So all Qunari mages are male. Does that mean only males are born mages or that Qunari aren't born mages and that only males would choose to?

That last one is rather interesting.  It sounds like he is talking about magi as an occupation rather than an inherent characteristic, and saying that Qunari society has more rigid sex roles than human society.  But I think that leaves it unclear about the issue of female Qunari born with magic or not.

My guess would be that they exile or kill women with magic power.

Yeah, they have mages. Unfortunately, they're treated like animals and are basically slaves or something like that. Sten refers to mages as being "chained" at one point.

1. Yes. But they're treated like pariahs. their tongues are cut off, they're kept in cages, and when needed they're walking around on a leash, like dogs.

2. Yes.

The qunari are a bit like the fascists - a great people to live amongst if you belong to the ruling race and enjoy war, but terrible ****s to everyone else.

The way the Qunari treat there mage's kinda remind me of the way the Seanchan treat there women with power in the Weel of Time (kept on a special leash to control their powers, kept in small rooms simelair to cages no tong cut out though) thoughts anyone?

Ooooooh, I wonder how far the similarity goes... I bet they wouldn't be pleased to find out that the ones carrying the leashes would be leashed given a little more power! :o

No, no they would not.
Also where those mages with Marjolaine mercenarys?
I think it was because they weren't leashed, or are mages unleashed in battle?
I personaly like the idea that the leashes have the same sort of power as in the Wheel of Time but I doubt that the Qunari would like it.

All the qunari you met in Origins besides Sten were Tal'Vashoth. There's no such thing as an actual qunari mercenary.
