Human.

City elf Origin was awesome, but elves are too skinny and making a male alf is hard as hell to make decent, so I only ever play female elves (including Dalish).

Dwarf noble Origin is awesome as well, but I only make female dwarves with the noble origin

Human noble Origin is my favorite because it gives the character a huge tragedy you can role play into being the reason your character steps up and saves the world from the blight.

Plus humans are the most normal height/weight ratio it seems.

I'd play as a human no matter what races we could play as in DA2

P.S. Dwarves can only survive by shutting themselves in and Elves are weak for surrendering themselves to humans.

Holy sh*t Deviija you are a noble human/ mage who drinks dragon/darkspawn blood and saves the world IRL?   Just teasing ya I know what you meant.  Still being a human doens't make it even close to what we are in real life.  After all sometimes I play someone who is a: man, heterosexual, mage, evil, supermodel sexy, sometimes  all of the above and etc.  And each and everyone of those can still be human.

If I was forced to chose I'd chose human. Of course I want more choices, ceteris paribus and anyone who says otherwise is either lying or stupid.

Human was always my favorite, never played too much farther than the Origin story for other races, didn't like elf discrimination drastically effecting gameplay, and only played dwarf to see what happened when you returned to Orzammar. Humans are the best, always will be.

Honestly I'd go with Human anyways. I tried all the others in Origins and Human just seemed to be the one that fit the best with everything. They were the only ones in which the weapons seemed some what on scale for. Every other race they just started to seem cartoony once you went above dagger for them.

Now if they had race specific weapons, that were scaled for the size of the races then I'd go with elf, but since they don't it's human for me.

Seconded.  In addition to that, I've found that in most games being a non-human (at least one that is humanoid) isn't hugely different from being human.

Anything BUT a human. I hate playing humans. It always ends up with the horrible trope that "Humans are special." More like humans are boring.



Frankly, if BioWare had taken a little time not to make any other race besides human look awful (looking at you, gorrilla-armed dwarves and elves), then I imagine more people would find them appealing. But not, BioWare stuck 'em with oversized hands so the animations would match up.



They should've just made Hawke a woman, then they could have two voice actors--one Brit, one American--and we could play all three races.
