Potentially but we don't know if she's one of the narrators or if she's the one being told the stories.

From what we know so far, she has a burning interest in Hawke and his/her story, and is apparently seeking out people who knew Hawke (like Varric).  That is the setup from which Hawke's story will be told.  Cassandra could be a narrator, but if so we don't know yet.

I think your original point was valid. I thought the female villains in NWN and its expansions were all underwhelming.

Just a random thourght, she might be Morrigan, there are certain simalaries in the face. I hope she isn't, because what they've released about Cassandra so far is so much kooler than Morrigan, but you never know.

I hope there'll be a confrontation later in the game where I can kill her.



And who the hell would want to support the chantry? They enforce superstition, oppress mages and want to take your sister (or you) as a prisoner.

They said they were thinking about it, some months ago.

And yeah... But I'm still hoping... It'd suck seeing that character during all the game, building her up as a kind of enemy, but not getting a chance to kill her.
