@ capt. no idea. i couldn't decide what kyrie would do with the heretics either, but then she blew the base. deliberation gave way to gut instinct. as with the rachni queen decision, she'll live with it, risk though it might be.
brainwashing doesn't sit well with her, regardless the species. (and maybe it's not really brainwashing, but she can't see it as anything else)

edit: top of page shep. ooh, it's gotta be a few of mr. vakarian's awesome noir pics.

 Heh, perhaps that'll be in the next appearance pack.:lol: Honestly though, I'm not sure what to expect with ME3. The game will certainly be on my shopping list but I'm walking a tightrope between high expectations and a lukewarm reaction. I'm also going to try my best to avoid spoilers. I was in the dark about ME2 and I want it to be the same way this Holiday season.

They should have at least some stuff ready to spoil us if it's coming out this year. I might want to avoid all that this time.

yeah, very true. i too, will go into BW hibernation as the game nears. i've been hiding from da2 spoilers like mad, and i might actually get the game. i don't want to know a thing about it before i start it though. same with me3.

I suppose I prefer playing a femShep because I love strong women.  Jennifer Hale performs so well as a voice actress that every emotional nuance she conveys is credible and immersive.  My perspective is not from the point of emulation, but of authorship.  That is, I make choices (class/spec/conversation) based on what I would want to read/watch if my choices were penned into real literature or filmed as real cinema.  This is the person I would want to meet and in whom I could place my trust and admiration.

Bioware really is a phenom of immersive, engaging RP and eminently playable products with epic storylines.  Even though my anxiety for the quality and direction of the story in the third installment is growing I feel comforted when reflecting on past products and their keeping faith with great storytelling and fun games.  I cannot wait for ME3.

@Capt. Crash

"Lazarus Project" clearly it refers to a biblical episode but I think that "... Lazarus" has already become in a word that has lost his religious connotation.

@Sage

The first time I played I don't know why but I though that someone of the squad might be a traitor. However Liara, Ashley/Kaidan, Wrex could be next squadmates + the new crew may appear. In addition we suppose that all of them survive. In any case, your hypothesis is interesting...

This is true.  It's also of note that the loyalty missions also make allusions to the bible: a house divided, sins of the father, eye for an eye, etc etc.  Something to think about.

But this is only tenuously related to femShep.

Lol,  but actually while we on this people dont seem to notice the fact Bioware have reflected parralels to biblical narratives.  Its not something their scared to do, just look at the Chantry in DAO.

The Raising of Lazerus  = Lazarus Project

Most likely due to the anti political/political nature of the forums anything discussing it would get out of hand quick. But looking at it does open your eyes a to new perspectives.

I hope they keep sticking with Greek Mythology, as some of the ME stuff seems to be taken from it.

Well said. This is exactly my rationale when playing, albeit expressed a little more eloquently. I used play male RPG characters (a looong time ago), and at some point my perspective shifted; I stopped self-projecting onto them and started thinking of them as characters in their own right. Consequently I roll female characters now, and not just for puerile reasons. In Mass Effect Hale lends more emotional depth to the character, but in any game simply escaping the staunch male protagonist archetype makes the narrative a little more compelling. I suppose it's because we tend to interpret everything, to some degree, in terms of our own life experience, and since women are generally more emotionally connected in real life, the gender makes a character more interesting to think about in a game (a placebo effect perhaps, but still).

In simple terms: strong women are more interesting than strong men.

Also, with regards to the earlier discussion, I've been meaning to post this quote:

On one hand they were making “Captain Shooty Hands out the Galactic Ass Kickings”, and on the other hand they were making “Catpain Shooty’s Dramatic Space Opera Adventure”. The latter is what they enjoy doing and what fans love them for, but the former is apparently what pays the bills.

What no Van Damme?

And I'm sure there's a Chuck Norris fact in there somewhere. Let's give it a go.

Chuck Norris plays Mass Effect with a male Shepard, because if he used femshep it would be too much awesome for the universe to handle!

i remember seeing some CHUD quote (and where i cannot remember) that he figured he could "take" sheploo, but femshep would kick his a**.

am i remembering this or making it up? it feels like it SHOULD be a real quote.

What about Mr. T? I pity the fool that forgets to mention him. <_<

Otherwise. The part from Mass Effect 1 that sagequeen pointed out, that Shep is probably the only person in the galaxy that understands Prothean also leads me to conclude one very probable epilogue for her. She might spend a lot of time working with Liara translating whatever Prothean texts have been recovered afterwards.

Hm. Aside: Do omnitools have a video recording function? Because someone should have been recording Vigil's tale. Of course, in the battles afterward that could have been damaged or lost or the Council just didn't want to believe them anyway.

ETA: @Chignon: Ooooooo...... beautiful. (...where's the "we're not worthy" smiley?)
