/delurks for a second - hi guys :) just wanted to say that seeing all your awesome Shepards is both inspirational and terrifying, because I just created another female Shepard for no other reason other then wanting to have a Shepard with African origins. Her personality inspirations are Ororo Munroe, Uhura and just a touch of Ashley Williams (well, that's going to make Virmire even more hellish then usual)

hope you all don't mind if I pop in at a later date to share my femsheps, once I have screenies from both mass effects for all of them
/hides again

She sounds rather interesting and it looks like you put a good amount of thought into her. [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/happy.png[/smilie]   Looking forward to your post.

@sage: Kyrie's shades are awesome. And Jessica's raised brow. And is it just me or does Noah sneer even more than usual? Anyway, I'll have to say it again: Great work on the picture, Ele!

okay ash - and all you other peeps - i was inspired by the inspiration meme and had to give it a try. i am horrid at photoshop, so this is a hack job.

Image IPB

so, going clockwise:

Mrs. Emma Peel (The Avengers): Deadly, lovely, unflappable. dry sense of humor, even in the face of death.

Yu Shu Lien (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon): Warrior first, woman second. Noble to the point of almost ridiculous self-sacrifice.

Eowyn (LOTR, book version): Strong, determined to save her family; uncertainty and pain lurks under a cold exterior.

Jason Bourne/Maria Krutz (The Bourne Identity): Haven't decided which she is - probably a little of both. Like Jason, Kyrie deals with the situation first, however insanse, then tries to catch up and plan. Like Maria, has a sustaining sense of optimism. Mebbe I just like this kiss. Reminds me of Kyrie + Kaidan

Alex Munday (Charlie's Angels - movie): Mostly for the clothes here - and the attitude. Lucy Liu's fighting style - half graceful, half scrapper - also is very Kyrie.

Brunhilde (Norse Mythology): Valkyrie who defies heaven for her love and a total kickass lady. Made many comparisons here in my fanfic.

Elinor Dashwood (Sense and Sensibility): The inspiration for Yu Shu Lien (seriously, check the director commentary on the Crouching Tiger DVD). No fighting skills, but an amazingly strong lady. Stays firm in the face of continual rejection, loss, and defeat. Sensible, cool attitude conceals a tremendous amount of passion and compassion. Has a soft spot for nice, slightly awkward men.

Elizabeth I (the moive character more than the queen): Looks, certainly, and also the conflict shown by Blanchett in this version of Elizabeth. Has to take on a crazy task, compromising all the way. Her passion and compassion is often masked by cold logic and frequent ruthlessness.

So, eh, yeah. There's mah meme. *runs and hides*

Love it. Points for a Jane Austen character. A collected facade that hides true feelings. Someone who can put their feelings aside for the bigger picture--definitely femShep. Horizon?

That is nuts.  I don't care about the bugged bonus damage, sniping the heads of those Ymir mechs the instant the stasis wears off and they pitch backwards is raw, blinding skill.

Really? Not that I intend to disparage the video creator in the least, but it's really just practice.

Mind you, I've played FPSs with a fairly competitive bent online for a long time, so that skews my viewpoint. If you want to see something nuts, check out videos like this. As a great man once said:

Good against remotes is one thing. Good against the living, that's something else.

ME2's mechanics aren't really designed to reward raw skill, on the whole. It's really about a systematic application of strategy, provided you have passable aim and reflexes.

If you're talking about skill against humans, why are u showing halo reach. Heard of ut2k4 or quake 3? Halo is just a noob version of those great franchises designed for consoles. But srsly the skill level you can demonstrate by a mouse is order of magnitudes time more than that of a controller. Any random quake3 montage will show more skill that that video.

So if u plan on showing other videos, i suggest u stick to mass effect 2.

Let's NOT turn this into a debate about games that have nothing do with our girl Shepard. Unless you're making comaprisons between  FemNoble 6 or femshep, keep it on topic please.

I suggest you chill out.

I played Counter-Strike intensively for over six years. So yeah, I know a little bit about the superiority of a mouse as an input device. I assumed anyone who's ever used one would know that too, and I wouldn't need to make a big song and dance about it. Apparently I was wrong.

I stand by everything I said. Let's move on to more relevant topics, eh? If you really want to have a good old rage, there's always private messages.

@ADLegend

Agreed. We're here to talk about the awesomeness that is FemShep. =-) And we all have many different ways of playing our Sheps. Which is perfectly acceptable! I would not consider myself the best player, but I still enjoy the game. Even when I regularly get my rear handed to me on Insanity, but I'm getting better! ;-)
