After attempting to celebrate her promotion to Lieutenant on Elysium, Damara was laid up in the hospital for a few months recovering from injuries and ad to re-certify in pretty much everything once she was released. Due to this re-certificiation process, she wasn't with her squad when they got deployed to Akuze. Rejoining N7, she was placed on the quieter assignments, due to the brass not wanting her to overexert herself and keep her mental state under observation. This is when she taught herself guitar, started her historic weapons collection, got three of her 5 tattoos, got most of her piercings, gained a reputation for being nearby when a bar fight started and accidentally shooting her as-of-the-prior-week ex-boyfriend in the ass during a training exercise. She also developed an unhealthy obsession with pixie stix and karoke.

Meghan approves +10.

Hm. Since I tend to play mostly Paragon Sheps (I dislike most of the heavy Renegade-point laden decisions) I would say Riza probably avoided the public eye after Torfan since she was not proud of that at all, even if it got the job done.

Kylie... probably would prefer I stop reading fanfic and at least finish all the first Citadel-based missions and assignments. :o

Heh, I'm not worrying about Rachel till I've played DA2 at least.  She can stay stuck on Feros for awhile.

Small Shout, but Ray Muzyka was right on the ball in telling Greg Zeschuk about  "she"  for femshep!

Here you go

I put a timestamp on it at the right point

I'm now demanding that Greg use feminine pronouns to refer to Commander Shepard whenever he's next interviewed, as it would function as sufficient enough compensation for this "mistake". :police:

But it soooo creeeeeeeeeepy there... :crying:

I guess my Sheps should feel fortunate that I'm not into fantasy genre games. Of course, I could start up Civ4 again... (*wonders why all the BigNoes started up all of a sudden*)

Have some terrible fanfic about Caroline and her committment issues.  If after ME3 ends she's alive and the Reapers are defeated she'll...have to learn how to cook.

Things Left Behind

That was really good, ELE.

As to answer your question, I think I'll have to limp in with the vague"classified Alliance stuff". It took me long enough to come up with a back story for Hrist just using what the game gives you, let alone anything extra. :(

Here have some screenshots as compensation for such a lame answer.

Screenshots are acceptable compensation ;)

ELE: So Hrist, what were you doing before the events of Mass Effect 1?
Hrist:  If I told you, I'd have to kill you.

I'm glad some of you enjoyed the fic.  Is it possible to fanservice yourself?  If so, consider me self-fanserviced.

Part 2 is up link

Thanks  Glad you likey.

edit - @ FireEye, I lol'd.  I noticed in both games Shep makes a weird face when she draws her gun.  In the first one her eyes kind of roll into her head, and in the second she makes this deranged grimace.

Hmm, not been around terribly much of late, but I'll pop in to answer this (in a brief sumary).

Up until shortly before Elysium, Alexis actually had been holding herself back in her duties, not enough to get in trouble, but enough to keep herself from accelerating through the ranks (something noted in her files). This changed some short time before the pirate attack on Elysium. Around this time, she broke off her engagement to her long time "high school" boyfriend, and then engrossed herself on work. She was on shore leave at Elysium when the attack happened. She did a brief PR tour after the battle, and then got solicited off to N training - and then moved on to classified missions prior to her assignment to the Normandy.

That's for my canon Alexis at least. The details for the AU-TSP version that I've been writing with Sialater and Jillyfae has a different story leading up to the events of being assigned to the Normandy.

Prior to her December of 2182 transfer to the SSV Normandy, Maddy was serving aboard the Lexington class frigate SSV Yorktown (Registry No. SR NC-1812) as XO. She had been promoted to Lt. Commander midyear and had originally been assigned to supervise the Yorktown's extensive 14 month refit, to be completed in December of 2183 (In preparations her eventual promotion to captain and taking over as the Yorktown's CO)

Maddy had been assigned to the Yorktown (her first command assignment) since her graduation from the Westfield Officer Candidate School in February of 2176 as a lieutenant. Prior to her assignment aboard the Yorktown, she served aboard the pre "First Contact" era Chicago class cruiser SSV Southampton (Registry No. SR NC-210), until it’s decommissioning in 2174 after 21 years of service.

She had been aboard the Yorktown for only 8 months when "The Blitz" occurred. The Yorktown had put into Elysium for overdue "shore leave" with 2 other Alliance Navy warships when the fighting started, as illustrated in this excerpt from Lt. Madeline Shepard's testimony to the Alliance investigation committee, December 4, 2176:

Admiral Doyle F. Strauss: "You are stationed aboard the SSV Yorktown...and it says in your report, that you and your crew were...on Elysium for..(Papers rustling)...shore leave correct?"

Lt. Madeline Shepard: "Yes...the crew had been overdue for shore leave for a little over 8 months. we had put in the request and were given two weeks of leave....so we put in at Elysium for few days of service time on the Yorktown before departing for the Citadel for the rest of our leave. The frigates’ SSV Gettysburg, SSV Waterloo put in with us...the Gettysburg being on leave as well and the Waterloo coming in for emergency repairs after striking a old deep space mine that damaged her port side forward hull. The cruisers SSV Kitty Hawk and SSV Melbourne were already in port when we arrived.

Admiral Cynthia S. Henning: "So there were 5 Alliance warships in port at the time of the attack?"

Lt. Madeline Shepard: "Yes... all sustained heavy damage from ground fired ordinance during the attack…The Melbourne took the most damage…she sustained several hit to her port side and lost power…. As a result, she broke her anti-grav docking clamps and fell…pinning the Kitty Hawk‘s starboard wing and damaging both outboard and inboard engine nacelles.."

Admiral Cynthia S. Henning: "All of the ships present were badly damaged, from what we've seen of the repair holo-images. What type of ground fired weaponry was used that could have caused that much damage?"

Lt. Madeline Shepard: "They used Alliance XT-90 Mark Two “Warhawk" guided torpedoes fried from mobile platforms. According to a serial number found on a piece of wreckage found after the attack, these torpedoes were from a lot of 14 stolen from an Alliance Navy installation on Mars six months earlier"

After Elysium, the Yorktown put in to the Arcturus Alliance Navy Yard for a 6 month rebuild and refit. During this period, Maddy served as an assistant instructor of the N7 program at the F.T. Lancing Alliance Military Special Forces Academy.

She also as much time as possible on her 15 1/2 acre "ranch", as she calls it, in Montana that she inherited from her late father.

After her decommissioning in 2174, the SSV Southampton and her only surviving sister ship the SSV Milwaukee (Registry No. SR NC-206) languished in mothballs until they were stricken from the Alliance Navy Registry in 2177. The SSV Milwaukee met her fate in a scrap yard at the tip of a plasma cutting torch in 2178, but a group of investors and historians’ persuaded the Alliance Navy to donate the Southampton to their non-profit organization to restore and preserve her as a museum on Gravenstien. Due to her notoriety after Elysium and Torfan, Maddy and 6 other former crewmates, were asked to be on hand for the public opening. Madeline cut the ribbon during the official public opening ceremony on March 4th, 2180.

Sorry, I'm a detail nerd....and I tend to get carried away :D

N7 training, Torfan, mourned the loses on Torfan and carried on with life. (I know, not very detailed, but I'll do a fanfic for Lili about it later.)

Oh, wanted to show off a peice of art that YamiSnuffles did of Lili and Garrus, watching a horror vid. Link
I just love it.  Just an awesome job! Image IPB

this is my reasoning, too. however, i think the key is having a logic behind shep's reasoning, rather than just always picking "blue" or "red." kyrie picks up a good amount of renegade points because her reasoning sometimes is what the game calls renegade. most of the time, she's what the game calls paragon. but, for example, she blew the geth base because if the geth are programs, she doesn't trust them and wants them dead (they might turn again) and if they are people, then she doesn't want to brainwash them. that's the reasoning i figured fit her mind best. result was she got major renegade points for it, but it felt like her - doing what she thought was wise and right, even if it was a potential risk.

i gave up on the paragon/renegade meter this time around and just tried to make her "kyrie". i really loved the result.

I mod paragon/renegade points if I need to, so I can pick decisions that specific character will make according to their personality. I love doing that, because it feels very natural and allows me to fully enjoy that character.
