I mod paragon/renegade points if I need to, so I can pick decisions that specific character will make according to their personality. I love doing that, because it feels very natural and allows me to fully enjoy that character.

same here, 1000 points to each so I can do whatever I want. makes me feel like I can actually make all the decisions instead of just doing what the game wants to get the ability to make the decisions.

Whatever whatever I do what I want!

@ADLegend Um do you know that you have your diffuse and normal maps wrong for that hair mesh. It should be:

BIOG_HMF_HIR_PRO.Cyberbabe.HMF_HIR_Cyb_Diff

BIOG_HMF_HIR_PRO.Cyberbabe.HMF_HIR_Cyb_Norm

Entered into the HAIR_DIFF and HAIR_NORM sections of the save editor.

I was going to mention that, too. I didn't know if you did it on purpose, though. =-)

but, for example, she blew the geth base because if the geth are programs, she doesn't trust them and wants them dead (they might turn again) and if they are people, then she doesn't want to brainwash them. that's the reasoning i figured fit her mind best. result was she got major renegade points for it, but it felt like her - doing what she thought was wise and right, even if it was a potential risk.

That truly was a difficult and strange decision.  Was it genocide, or just more massive property damage?

 true.

it is one of the weirdest decisions in the game because the facts are so unclear. i do love ME for that reason - some decisions seem crystal clear to me, some are very mixed, some are just...wha...? that was a wha...? for me.

edit:  Next video in my adept guide series is up. now i need to go fraps some more gameplay footage.

As for what Renée was doing before ME1:  She'd been at Prospective Starship CO school until shortly before Normandy was commissioned, and before that she was running around in SF units in either Command or Staff posistions.  She saw Elyisum as her own sort of hell.  She didn't want to be there, but as a leader, she knew what was expected of her.  I'm currently working on telling what happened there.

Oh, my dossier for Renée Shepard.

This is way the hell off topic but it seems like the only way to get any damn responses on this forum is to post in an already active thread, so...

I have been trying to find a ME1/2 pic to use as my desktop background. Specificly, one of the terminal / conputer UIs like are shown on the ones you cant use, or one of the loading screens with the Normandy from ME2. I see alot of talented fan art here, and also a TON of screenies.. so i was wondering if one of you could help me out. If you want to, send me a PM to keep down on the off topicness >.<

On topic, i would love to post a few pics myself, but i play on Xbox and i dont have any way to take them.

If you have a digital camera, you could use that to take pictures.

quick question if you all don't mind? how do I give my imported Shep her eyelashes back? I just imported the face straight up, only changed the scalar of her blush, after starting the game, via gibbed. she looks so weird without lashes :(

on a related note, I've been taking terrible advantage of Steam's newest feature - ability to take screenshots via steam cloud (no fraps etc needed) and this is one of the screenies I ended up with. Didn't think Simone had it in her o_O

I think it can be best described as "You took my favorite toy! Give it back, or I'll bite you"

Squat: Hey, I will do a lot of things but I will never do anything with prejudice in my heart.
Doc: He just means use the laser a lot.
Squat: Oh, uh, then blast 'em all, let the archaeologists sort 'em out!

I wonder why reprogramming the heretics is a Paragon choice. My one Femshep that I got through ME2 did the reprogramming because she is a strong believer in poetic justice.

As far as the Heretic choice goes, I consider brainwashing a sentient being to be more reprehensible than killing it, so I will tolerate the Renegade points. Whether brainwashed or dead, the original being no longer exists, in my opinion (I think, there I am... I think differently, therefore I am different?). But there's something about the concept of rewriting, the idea of fundamentally perverting an entity's very thought process, that doesn't sit with me.

Anyway, I've been awake and working on a research project for 21 hours now. I love the fact that my first inclination upon finally being able to go to bed is to come check the FemShep thread instead.

I think rewriting heretics is a paragon decision for the same reason every other somewhat questionable decision is - paragon ultimately tries to save as many lives right this moment as they can manage and they don't always consider the future clearly. its a "now" decision and whichever choice saves the most lives in a present is the paragon choice. Its not always the best, most logical or even humane choice (I've always felt that killing indoctrinated Salarians on Virmire was ultimately kinder to them, but its considered to be a renegade thing to do)

P.S.  Jade Elf - thank you :)  it seems like it worked, hope I get to keep my eyelashes for the rest of the game :) )

true, but are they really "alive?" if not, then what's the harm in exploding their circuity heads? if they are, then kyrie applies her own logic to the situation (even though legion tells her that it won't quite fit): she'd rather die than be forced to think a particular way (seems too like slavers w/ their prisoners). hence, the base goes boom.

to me, it felt more merciful to kill them, but far less risky to save them. one more weapon to use against the reapersand all that. but then, kyrie is used to making do without a lot of weapons.

Image IPB

but hey, that's her (and that's me playing her). i think that decision really is a very up-in-the-air one. it really doesn't fit the typical alignments, i think.

oh I agree that that decision is pretty ambiguous,, I'm just going with paragon/renegade not being the equivalent of good/bad per se.

Leah (paragon) for example rewrites heretics, because from what legion tells her, they will still retain their ability to think for themselves, it will merely remove the reaper corruption. to her, its the equivalent of removing indoctrination effects.

Jewel (paragon) destroys them because they are a potential threat and can be rewritten again, she feels that this particular batch may be more vulnerable to repeated infection, so its better to just remove them from equation.

Simone (renegade) keeps them, because hey - more ground troops and if legion can rewrite them now, he might be able to reprogram them further giving her some extra future cannot fodder (not a nice woman, Simone)

some of the paragon decisions are not very nice and some of the renegade decisions are actually a kinder option sometimes. so I just few them as save a life now vs save a life later sort of idea. its like Mordin says, help comes in different packages, but its still help :)
