It looks good on Kate. And, yeah, given time, I'm sure any hairstyle would begin to grow on a character, so to speak. I just can't bring myself to try anything else with Alexis. None of the others really look like they'd "fit" her.

Uhm, top of page Shepard (I don't really have any new shots, so just recylcing some old ones of mine):

I thought it would be worthwhile to complete the standardised biography for my secondary Shepard, Keira. Additionally, this post can also function as an attempt to prompt others to complete this profile obviously providing that they haven't already done so. Again, I'd like to extend a special thanks to jlb for compiling such a wonderful and detailed series of blank profile fields. Appreciated!

*snip much detailed awesomeness*

Okay, I'll bite. Although I haven't finished ME2 with Cara yet, so this is a work in progress.

***************************************************************
Intro stuff

Name: Shepard, Cara Bethany
Background: Earthborn, Ruthless
Alignment: Renegon
class: Vanguard
Favorite Combat Ability or Abilities: Charge (all the better to make use of her mad krav maga)

Decisions, decisions, decisions....

ME1 Council: Saved the Council--coincidentally. She just wanted to get reinforcements to the Citadel as fast as possible.
The Rachni: Ashley talked her out of genocide. Wrex was grumpy.
What happened on Feros?: Most of the colonists survived, but collateral damage was unavoidable. Ethan Jeong is a cold corpse.
Virmire: Pledged to avenge Ashley's death.
Conrad Verner: Who??
Noveria: Got Anoleis arrested.
Bring Down the Sky: n/a
Anderson or Udina: Udina.

ME2 and the Council: Flipped off the Council and told them to shove it.
The Collector Base: n/a
Suicide Mission casualties: n/a, but it's not looking good for Thane
The Geth: n/a
Tali: n/a
Genophage cure data: n/a
Overlord: n/a
Kasumi: Destroyed the greybox.

Personal stuff

Romance: None in ME1, but totally going for Jacob.
Why Shepard and her LI are such a great match: n/a
Best Friends: Zaeed Massani. They spar with each other and swap war stories in downtime. Both agree that "rage is a h*ll of an anesthetic."
Personality: Cara was never one for ideals, she joined the Alliance to get off the street, and her six-year prison sentence gave her a nasty edge. She's an adrenaline junkie who's really only happy during high-tension tactical insertions into enemy territory, physical training, or brawls. Her main sense of duty comes from Alliance Admiral Stockholm who taught her to "save who you can, and avenge the rest". She has little patience for small-talk, wishy-washiness, or idealism and prefers to solve problems bluntly.
Three fun facts: 1) She knows a lot of salarian curse words 2) She used to be married, but it was only for convenience's sake 3) She carries a talisman--a small gold crucifix necklace--in memory of a human civilian who needlessly died in turian captivity during the First Contact War. 4) A fourth "fun" fact may be found in my sig.

So, have any of the people who've been calling for FemShep to be "animated like a woman" seen the running animations for Lady Hawke in the DA2 Demo?    Looks a lot like the stereotypical silly anime movement for large-breasted hyperactive schoolgirls.

As I've been saying... be careful what you wish for.

It is a step in the right direction, though. And, personally, I'd rather have her walk a bit awkward than stomp around like Godzilla on a bad day.

I never specifically asked for Shep to be "animated like a woman". I want my FemShep female animations from ME1 back. There's a difference.

Also, I think Lady Hawke's animation is fine compared to female Shep's walk in ME2.

I actually like the way LadyHawke runs.  It's way more graceful.  I'll take it over linebacker ogre Shepard running.

Mass Effect 2's animations are so abohrrent that almost anything would be an improvement over what they used in that game. Those animations are so terrible they don't even look good on the Male version of Shepard, whoever made them clearly has never ran or walked before in their life.

Or if they did it was with a broken leg and a neck brace.

I agree, I really liked ME1 animations, not sure why they changed them. I think Lady Hawke runs fine, other than the weird impression I got that she was gliding. Meh.

Intro stuff

Name: Shepard, Kiria
Background: Colonist, War Hero
Alignment: Paragon w/ renegade elements
class: Infiltrator
Favorite Combat Ability or Abilities: Sniper slowdown, Incinerate, Reave (bonus talent that equals free medkit with each use)

Decisions, decisions, decisions....

ME1 Council: Saved the Council as a tactical and moral move both. Reinforcements should never be squandered or held back for "the right moment", especially in pitched battles.
The Rachni: Never was one to punish the innocent for the crimes of others.
What happened on Feros?: Saved the colonists. Got Jeong to commit suicide by cop ("Either put down your weapon or be prepared to use it!")
Virmire: Alas, poor Kaiden, we hardly knew ye. No more will you suffer headaches...
Conrad Verner: "THIS was how the Blitz was, do you like it?!"
Noveria: She hates corporations on principle, and has no love lost for corporate thieves.
Bring Down the Sky: Despite what Balak claims, he pushed "the button", not me. But he'll have his day in court.
Anderson or Udina: Anderson, the Fighting Councilor!

ME2 and the Council: Was a bit exasperated at their flippant denials, but knows better than to burn bridges.
The Collector Base: Blew that motherkriffer up, if only to ****** off Timmy. Enjoyed the fireworks display on the way out.
Suicide Mission casualties: None.
The Geth: Rewrite. From Kiria's point of view, doing that to a networked gestalt intellect isn't the same thing as doing it to an organic mind.
Tali: Kept the secret, Charmed the admiralty board. "It's fun to watch you shout..."
Genophage cure data: Kept.
Overlord: Archer got pistol-whipped, which is getting off light. His brother went to the Grissom Academy.
Kasumi: Kept the greybox. Kasumi's gonna stay "off the grid" for a while.

Personal stuff

Romance: Liara T'Soni
Why Shepard and her LI are such a great match: Liara is Kiria's moral support, a concrete, indelible thing to fight for instead of against.
Best Friends: Garrus Vakarian, Kasumi Goto, and Joker. Garrus is surprisingly good at chess, and the two play regularly. Kasumi is a good drinking buddy. Joker is always good at lightening the mood. Could have liked Zaeed under different circumstances, but he's basically "too mercenary" and his FUBAR-ing up the mission on Zorya for personal reasons nearly made her kick him to the curb.
Personality: Kiria had always planned to go into the military, but the attack at Mindor put a fire into her that nearly got her kicked out of officer training. During N7 training she nearly became addicted to the "pink mist" (a Marine term for what happens when a sniper bullet meets cranium). She eventually learned to control and overcome her rage, which was helped by the unexpected chance to get some payback during the attack on Elyssium. She strives to set an example for others to follow and will defend others' rights to the death, but she can also be a bit stubborn about her own views. She's assertive, but can and has adapted to various circumstances, which helps her to earn and keep respect within the Terminus Systems and among the krogan.
Three fun facts: 1. Likes sniping almost as much as Garrus.
2. Wishes she had Kasumi's "always on" cloaking device.
3. Would like nothing more than to be the one to give Timmy the spanking he deserves.

Shame they run on two different engines so they cant port the animation over.  But I hope its been fed back enough times Bioware will work on it for ME3.

Actually I think they wanted a 'injured' Shepard in ME 2. He / She did get spaced and the body fell to the planet when the old Normandy died. Don't get me wrong though I would like to see the old ME 1 animations back for FemShep too!

The other reason I see why FemShep walks the way she dose is due to the 'thickness' of this current armor. . . It's very thick on FemShep compared to what was used in ME 1. I think they probably didn't realize how bad the clipping would be if they made her walk as they had in ME1. And don't get me wrong I love the detail they put into the armor. (Heck I liked the detail so much I actually despised the hugeness of heavy weapons on my Shep.) But around her arms, chest, and legs the armor is rather thick. Even the Tempest SMG is a rather 'thick' weapon folded up compaired to the ME 1's older pistol models. (And some clipping seems to occur between FemShep's left arm and this weapon while walking.) :pinched:

I'm not sure how they could fix it, other than it would be nice if they did. I suppose cutting the thicker parts of the armor in halves along 1 or 2 axis then shaving it a few px at a time would tighten it up some. With the Tempest SMG??? the heck if I know. *ponders* Unless they place it somewhere else on the armor like along the right thigh like in a low hung holster style? Then it's just a matter of making sure her right hand dosen't sweep though the weapon there, instead of holding her arm out further from her side.

Don't get me wrong I hate clipping with a passion, and cringe when I see it. . (Lynn's ponytail gets clipped alot if she is wearing HWs and depending on which way her head is turned / tilted sometimes!) Rifles are horrible clippers when the characters are in certain positions etc. . . the buttstock get buried in the chest of Shepard! Standing though she holds it way too far from her shoulder. . . ah bah I've said enough. . still you don't notice some things when your running about 3rd person. However it dose get rather annoying and very noticeable when you are pic editing! I'm always like oh gawd now I have to make a major adjustment or go for a different pose / shot!

@ Element_Zero - the problem is that she runs that way while wearing heels and a miniskirt...or a long dress...or a basic light uniform.

and honestly, the new armor is no heavier then heavy armor from ME1. still it doesn't bug me as much when I'm on a mission with my guns drawn then when I'm in my civvies, going about ship business.

and god, the dances...why did they gave femshep a shuffle, when there are perfectly good looking female dances that npc's do?

This.  If you notice, the shoulder she's constantly rotating when she stands idle is the same as the side where Legion used her armor as a patch.  The limp doesn't carry over into armor because the armor supports whatever injury she was supposed to have.  (My bet's on a crappy sciatic nerve reconstruction or a mechanical hip flexor that doesn't work right.) I even wrote it into Loved.

That being said... like so much in ME2, the idea was good... the implementation was... questionable.

Lili=pure vanguard
Athena=pure soldier
Lia=pure adept
Elizabeth=pure engineer
Maria=pure sentinel
Titra=pure infiltrator
However...
Naomi=soldier in ME1, vanguard in ME2 (She's thrilled, she loves her new biotic powers! And she loves charging....)

Renée has been consistently an Infiltraitor through ME1 and ME2.  I don't forsee her changing.
Nimue might swithch from Sentinel to Vanguard though.  It would suit how I'm playing her better.

only one Shepard, original Leah who I wasn't really role playing at the time (so her appearance went through some changes...many changes as well)  started out as a soldier, then I changed her to sentinel becasue I read that it was an easier class from someone as noobish as me to play (and it really was).  Now that I actualy have a character fleshed out and replayed her from scratch in ME1?  she would be a bit surprised, confused at first, she'd be pissed of for a little bit and then gleeful at all the new toys and abilities to play with.  Ever the optimist, "there's a silver lining in everything" that girl :)

the very first incarnation - I didn't even figure out how to turn the head sideways to see it from different angle, but even though this wasn't exactly the face I was going for, I ended up playing her all the way through anyways and even though I'll probably never be using that face/character profile again, I just cannot bring myself to delete her

I've played Hrist as a Vanguard  on both the PC and 360. There was no RP reason for it though, I simply wanted to try the class out. Having said that the class does suit her style. She's always at the front of any fight so charge and shotguns certainly keep her in the thick of the action just like her trusty Mattock and adrenaline rush do.

Her canon class will always be a soldier though and that won't be changing.
