Sooooo. I've got a question for you all, in these last few moments before I go off to work. I'm sure it's been asked before, buuuuuuut...

What does your Shep do during her time off?
(this can be any sort of 'time off', from shore leave to the jumps between star systems.)

EDIT: Top of the Page Shep, ho! : D

My Shepard's view on death is pretty simple. Shep is a protestant and doesn't really remember being dead. This is not a concern, however. Shepard just more or less figures God decided that insufficient ass had been kicked.

When asked about it, my Shepard usually plays it up.

"Aren't you supposed to be dead?"

"Technically, I'm undead now. I hear brains go good with steak sauce and I'm hungry."

Playing asari porn games... er... i mean.. she talks to Liara on a regular basis, does training, relaxes, reads and watches stuff on the extranet.

In her off time, Meghan reads and kicks Garrus' ass in the sparring ring.

Avery doesn't do down time.

Goes out and socialises.  She doesn't like spending too much time alone.   She secretly want to oust Miranda out of her room because its closer to the bar and the rest of the crew. :P  But since she is still professional she knows this wouldn't be the best idea.

:innocent:

Oh yes.  What does femshep do in her off time?

Teagan - you will likely find drinking quietly in the darkened corner of a seedy bar...or trying to start up a poker game with the crew

Caroline - likes to read dry historical novels in her underwear...service her weapons (ahem)...play "N7 Code of Honor: Medal of Duty" in her quarters, for the lulz.

Hrist is a bit of a history nut so reading books on various historial events. Arrange a poker game with the crew, wind up Joker, talk to Liara. Basically anything that isn't work related.

re: what shep does in time off - kyrie doesn't have much time off. for a short, lovely while, she spent it with kaidan. recently, when she has a spare minute, she's either checking in on the normandy crew or sleeping. i mean, is it just me, or does shepard really go from mission to mission to mission without much pause in me2?

It's not just you sage. lol

RE: down time

Kallen's usually in the medbay getting all the skin muscle and bone weave surgeries from Chakwas with Miranda overseeing them since she oversaw Lazarus and when that's not happening she's bugging Liara to find out where Ashley is, she sometimes works out with Jacob and talk a bout Miranda behind her back even though they know she's listening (for teh lulz). She also tells grunt about her hunt for Saren and he listens like a child watching cartoons on saturday morning. She also owns Legion in N7 Codeof Honor: Medal of duty under the "gamertag" of KLegend21(>.>) and Legion is unaware that it's her. She also dabbles with her guitar and plays horribly for Miranda (think of the scene in Scott pilgrim where Scott sings to Ramona) and then there's mission and sexy times with Miri and sabotage with Liara the SB base.

During downtime, Cara exercises religiously. She does extreme sports on shore leave, sky diving being her favorite.

Re: What Shep does in her time off...

Alice tries to stay planetside as much as possible, preferring the "natural" air rather than the recycled stuff she gets on a ship. She has a strong preference for beaches and being in the woods, seeking out more solitary areas when she truly needs to relax. She, of course, enjoys the company of a certain prothean expert...

She also loves to run - to sprint over, under, and around obstacles, letting her body react to each one on its own, giving herself over fully to instinct. Low-gravity environments are particularly fun for her, since sometimes she can get moving so fast that her feet can barely keep up with her. It reminds her of some of the few happy times growing up on Earth, when she'd be working on her own as a runner for the reds, when she could forget everything and just run.

off time, hmm

Leah likes to hang out with the crew, she's pretty social.
Jewel hides out in her quarters, drawing
Simone pesters Garrus to spar with her, but baring that - she is into extreme sports, keeps her adrenaline pumping.
Jade listens to music. she occasionally attempts to learn how to play a bamboo flute, but haven't made much progress yet. she keeps trying though.
Johari meditates or reads, philosophy or fiction that has philosophical elements and gray choices (think Jodi Picoult type of books)

If they marketed femshep... do you think people would be less or more likely to buy the game?

I don't see Holly having much free time. Whatever she does have, though, would be spent with Thane. Other than that...I see her doing a lot of reading, studying new tech, working out or practicing her marksman skills. She would also hang out with Garrus quite a bit, since he's her best friend. Perhaps casually conversing with Joker about all things nerdy.

She listens to a lot music of many different varieties, especially rock or punk. One of her favorite things to do is crank up the volume and start singing along. No one's ever seen her do it, though (except EDI). She'd be incredibly embarrassed.

Down Time:

UJ doesn't have much down time. She's either focused on the mission or talking w/ her crew. She does train, work out, and practice her biotics and firearm skills, though she doesn't consider that as down time. She will chat w/ Liara, but it's mostly to gain any new info on the Protheans, Cerberus or Ashley. She will slip in a "I miss you" for time to time. The rare occasions when she does have time to herself, she reads in bed or does complex word puzzles to keep her mind sharp. She has a quilt that she's been working on for over six months. Every so often she will find herself surfing the extranet for asari bonding bracelets.

What a perfect question! :D
Why do I hear a few oh noes out there. . . But Lynn finds this. . . Well I'll let the photo's explain :P.

Another, well rather large series. . . (my apologies I kinda got carried away and didn't want to toss out any clippings! This was around 16+hrs or so of work! Including crazy game time fishing out the various clippings! Yea this last play though is going to top 150+ hrs Doh!)

A Vorcha and a Cookie. . . Part 1

Vorcha: "Oooooh look a cookie."
*cookie floats off*

A Vorcha and a Cookie. . . Part 2

A Vorcha and a Cookie. . . Part 5

A Vorcha and a Cookie. . . Part 6

Lynn likes that, and shooting the pyjacks too! She hasn't forgotten what a pain in the rear those monkeys were in ME 1 when they ran off with that recording gizmo from the recon satellite!

Yea, I had alot of fun making that series too. . . I got a bit frusterated with some of the animations though, jeesh. They were in some ways pure hell to fish out - cleanly. . . I think I ran that small stretch of road 3 or 4 times, just looking for something interesting! (Heck even now I have it loaded up in game, and running in the background! *facepalm*)
Still though I got them, clipped them then merged them in with the backgrounds this morning / afternoon!

Edit!: Let me rephrase that! I clipped out the vorcha and Lynn over a period of about a week while being distracted by RL stuff:P. Pulled out the backgrounds for the photos this morning / afternoon and merged them. . . Then made a few minor (1 major) adjustments and posted!   lol . . .

GL out there!

You know, reading some of the "spare time" responses here, as well as some of the FemShep fanfics I've come across, it seems a lot of your guys' FemSheps take their military careers/military life very seriously. That makes me feel that Alice is in the minority. She felt as though she was only in the military because she could do a lot of good there, but strongly disliked how rigid and regimented everything was. She much prefers the freedom she has now that she's no longer part of the Alliance, is able to pick her own team, choose her own path, etc. She of course takes her job very seriously, as one slip-up means death for her squad, but she likes a more casual environment in the meantime.

So what is it for your Sheps?

Military for life?
-or-
Military for now?

after the bulls*** that was her "reinstatement" to her military life (i.e., none, stonewalled, pissed on) she's not sure. this will entirely depend on a) if she lives to stop the reapers and tell the tale B) a certain staff commander and how their next meeting goes and c) how much the alliance grovels.
