Free Time: April didn't have much in the way of spare time aboard the SR-1, but that she did have she spent talking to Ash and Garrus. In ME2 though, she has a varity of time-wasting activities. Her favourites include stealing books from Kasumi's collection to read (history books in particular, the Renaissance and the Crusades are her most-liked periods), discussing new tech upgrades with Tali, listening in music and thumbing through old holos in her quarters, and trying to convince Miranda to let her install a climbing wall in the Cargo Hold.
Have a spliced Purgatory pic while I try to think up a MP quote to rival "pining for the fjords":

After Akuze, MainShep was going to drop out, but she got a lucky break before she did. She's milittary for life, more because it's what she's used to and she doesn't have any other skills.
As for time off, mostly she maintains her gear and plays with guns. She does have non-military pursuits, but they're small things she can fit into downtime and have become part of her daily routine. Faced with a large block of free time, with the pressure off, she doesn't know what to do with herself.
Throw Kaidan into the mix, and becomes a matter of, "What do you want to do?"

Interesting that you view Akuze that way. I saw it as being a catalyst for Alice. Prior to that she was kind of half-assing things, coasting on raw talent to get her through situations, and feeling that was good enough. Surviving Akuze was validation that she was good, but watching everyone around her die made her realize that she was wasting her skills in a rather selfish manner. She was offered a command position afterwards and took it without a second thought, believing that it was the best way for her to share her natural abilities with others.

I think it would get MORE sales because you let players know you have the otpion to chose the gneder of your protagonist and that would get alot more female fans. it would also let people see that the game has alot of replay value since you can play as a male and female and customize both.

I find this a tough question to answer for Amelia. I wrote two paragraphs and subsequently deleted them because I really am unsure how to answer this for her just yet
I know that sounds weird, shes fully commited to the mission and her role as a Spectre. But is it something she will pursue after ME3... hmmmm... May need to sleep on this one!

Take your time! It's something that's hard to answer. I'm still trying to come up with a decent reason why Alice joined the Alliance. I don't see her necessarily 'running away' from gang life, and joining up so she can 'save the galaxy' doesn't quite fit, either. One of these days I'll write that story...
I can see Alice wanting to continue on as a Spectre (or a freelance do-gooder, at any rate) after ME3. However, I imagine that after seeing her first little blue baby born, she'd stop taking quite so many chances with her own life, since then she'd have another life to live for.

Great question.
Erica, my renegade is in it for life. She got into the military to get off the streets and the Alliance made her a better person. She will still serve after all the crap has hit the fan. Maybe things will work out for her and Kaidan, maybe not. She wants Kaidan to be a part of that life, but knows it will be difficult. That's a long way off.
UJ, my paragon and canon Shep will serve if called, but if she had a choice, she'd hang it up. After Mindoir, Akuze, Eden Prime, etc, etc she's seen enough death to last several lifetimes. She'd like to steal Liara away from the SB base and live on some colony in the backwoods of Council space and raise a family. Though part of her would love to be the next human counciler some day.

I like seeing all different views.
My Shepard may take credit partial for Akuze ("I survived because I refused to die.") and surviving is what she does best, but deep down she knows she was incredibly lucky. While she may have kept her life (which is important to her, at least until Virmire), she paid back that luck in severe reprimands from her superiors, and alienation from her peers. It effectively stalled her career; she's still easily surprised and a little annoyed when people say, "That was awesome!" about Akuze (See: Jenkins).
She has no illusions about the Alliance. She knows they'll cut her loose the moment she's politically inconvenient, but it is better than the colonies trying to fend for themselves individually and it is something to believe in, flawed as it may be. At the very least, it gives her the opportunity to do some good while she's out there.
Of course, if I made up other Sole Survivors, it would be different each time. Character-making is fun!

It is! But I'm so attached to Alice that it's making coming up with other characters difficult!

As for what happens after the whole Reaper situation is over, I see her continuing to work if she's able. Though I don't see her returning to serve as a soldier in the Alliance, I do see her staying on as a SPECTRE for a time and jetting around the galaxy with her team (if they want to remain).
She'd definitely take a nice long vacation, though. Spend some quality time with friends, Thane and indulge in some much-needed rest.
On the flipside, Moira would never go back to the Alliance. She used it to get out of her situation on Earth, believes she learned some valuable skills... but is so jaded with the way she was treated and the politics of the Citadel her response to an invitation back would be an enthusiastic middle finger.
EDIT:
I think she'd run off with Garrus and the Normandy, then continue getting into trouble. Not really sure what they'd do, though.

It all depends for Lili, on a couple things. A) if it ever endsTheMarshal wrote...

Lili practices with her katanas, watches horror vids and anime vids, spends time with Garrus, does some sparring (and wins, eveytime, unless she lets Garrus win), plays poker, reads, messages people, cleans her weapons, talks to people, writes poetry, she also upgrades herself, her armor and her weapons, listens to music (believe it or not, she also sings and can dance) solving sudoku puzzles, playing games (like Halo, Galaxy of Fantasy, N7 Code of Honor etc.) and playing guitar (she's quite good)Ashwraith wrote...
What does your Shep do during her time off?
(this can be any sort of 'time off', from shore leave to the jumps between star systems.)
Most the time, however, she practices fighting and makes upgrades, but alwways makes sure she has time with Garrus.

But one who threatens young punks with her old service pistol.
The Military for Life or Military for Now question is a bit of a conundrum. She originally intended to be a lifer- stay in as long as possible. After LotSB, if they'd let her back in, she'd go to finish off her twenty years. Hey, she's already done over ten of those years. . .

Leah will get Kaidan back (yes, she's that confident) and well continue to try and make a difference one way or another. she's loyal to alliance, but only because she believes that their interests are for the best of humanity without trying to **** over the rest of the galaxy. If she learns otherwise, she'll be working for the council.
Jewel is a career military. she will serve alliance for as long as they'll have her.
Simone will either remain a spectre (and there's a big possibility of her going down Sela Vasir path), or find a way to raise hell some other way. she and Garrus may become vigilantes together.
Jade will most likely retire. she tried to do her best, but she realized that military life, life of command, it chaffs too much, its not something that she wished to do. she lost a lot of her idealism fighting the reapers, so she's going to hide somewhere playing her flute and soulsearching. Of course it might change somewhat depending on whom she'll end up with - Kaidan, Jacob or neither - I simply don't know yet.
Johari... I don't know yet - it really will depend on how ME3 will turn out. Same goes for her relationship with Kaidan. whatever she'll end up doing, is going to be something that she'll conciser for a while, from all angles, so I guess she'll take leave to figure it all out.

I'll probably mess with her makeup and change her hair, dunno. The eyes make her kinda look like a blonde Moira, I think. Not like that's a bad thing.
