Shep: "EDI, can you adjust the lighting levels aboard the Normandy?"
EDI: "That is not within my programming, Commander."
Shep: "I guess we're doing this the hard way..."

[Several hours of manual omni-tool use later]

Shep: *claps hands*
Kelly: "Hey, who turned down the lights?"
Shep: "I did. This ship's too bright and sterile on the inside. The lights waste energy and you don't need them to read the holographic consoles anyway."
Kelly: "Uh...whatever you say, Commander..."

[After the Collector attack]

EDI: "...slso, I now have access to the environmental controls which include adjustments to the ship's ambiance.
Shep: "FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!"

Edit: Top 'o the page FemShep, Kiria:

Wow,I'm noticing a trend with the responses about the normandy. I guess my Shep is the only one (so far) to actually like the new one, at all.

To Elaborate: It's creepy, almost in a good way, although I doubt it was intentional.  I think we're simply supposed to say, "oh, cool, shiny new ship!"

However: to someone who served on the original, I have to imagine it is a mockery of the tragedy and the twenty-one people who died when the Normandy went down (particularly bad is that when Shepard accepts it, you don't know how many died or who).  I've said it before and I'll say it again: It's like walking on a grave.

A new ship would have been fine, but the whole "Normandy SR2" is in bad taste.  Good creep factor for Shepard, bad "look: it's bigger and better, don't you just love it [and Cerberus]?  [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/joyful.png[/smilie]"  Not to mention the skylight in the Captain's Quarters.  XD

I personally preferred the pseudo-submarine look and military atmosphere of the original, but whatever folks (and their Shepards) enjoy.  :wizard:

For once I managed to create a decent femshep on the first try. Usually I have to recreate my sheps 1-3 times, because there's always something that annoys me from certain angles. Hopefully they allow to rotate the model in the character editor more freely in ME3.

Wow! She great Influ.    First glance she has very soft features, but in the right light her facial structure is quite defined!  Very very hard to get a good combination like that!

The face movement in the CC in ME2 was a step up from ME so lets hope they go one step further. B)

Kary likes the ship, at least with all its upgrades. As Jack said the new 'upgraded' Normandy is a real powerhouse, also she finds EDI very helpfull, even if she finds it creepy that EDI is always watching. On the other hand she finds the ship lacks a soul, mostly because she always feels a bit 'lonely'. Its too much space and to less people around. :?

Only 1-3 times? Lucky you... I had to do it more like 10-30 times. :D I'm happy now and not going to change anything anymore.

She actually looks really awesome in that helmet!  Is suits her really well.   I think the colour scheme you chose helps immensely with that!   Plus as always shes is rather lovely.

Its very rare I approve headgear (other then the visors)  on femshep.  So yes your going to have to do two play now, one with and one without!  haha :D

I saw it in the video, I can just imagine the actually in game banter between Jacob's VA and Hale and then they laugh about it when it's done recording.

ah, okay. i was sort of tired to the point of not understanding much when posting that.

@ bourne: i have heard great things about the firepower pack. if i have BW points after getting arrival, i may pick it up. for now, i have no desire to mess with my .ini files. my computers has been acting screwy enough as it is.

@ fire: totally agree with your assessment of the new normandy:  too big, too cold, too shiny, too deliberately "ooh, look at how pretty this is." it just creeped me out and put me off. not to mention no LT down at that screen he was always messing with for no apparent reason. the engine room was cool, and i was glad to get rid of the mako (hated that thing) but otherwise, it creeped me out.

the threat of survillance devices being monitored by tIM ruined any and all appreciation i might have had for the SR2. leather seats do not make up for big brother watching you with his glowing eyes.

oh, and re: Arrival pics - BW is a total tease. and i sadly analyzed that pic for several minutes seeing if i could learn anything from it. sad, huh?

Although she does look good with the helmet on, she looks much better without it.

But then i'm not the biggest fan of the head gear. I won't even use the headshot visor, (I forget the name) and that only covers a small part of Shepard's face.

Going back to the Normandy. I personally prefer the SR1. The lighting was better and it felt more homely. Plus the music that played as you moved about the ship was nice. The SR2 just feels cold in comparison. It's too bright and is devoid of any sort of character. The fact that it has Cerberus logo's slapped on every surface doesn't help either.

Hrist as a sole survivor absolutely hates Cerberus and TIM, so the SR2 feels like an insult to her and her old crew. The thing had better get a new coat of paint and better lighting for ME3, or she isn't going to be happy. It's her ship after all and if she wants to change the colour scheme she should be able to.

I punched "304,942" into the mass effect wiki hoping to find some clue there. nothing.

heh (i'm a dork, i know)

@ akari - yeah! the music. that's what's missing on the sr2. well, that and having alliance peeps i trust vs. cerberus - and no video cams in the showers or whatever else tIM is into. but yeah, music could go a long ways there for helping with that horrible static hum.  ugh.

now i have the sr1 theme song stuck in my head.

Unfortunately I have a sinking feeling that you've just hit the nail on the head with how ME3 will end up.

Woah, this thread moves pretty fast, 3 days without internet and I'm already 10 pages behind!

ADLegend21 wrote...

Femshep question time! How did your femshep feel when she saw the upgrades the new normandy had?

April's in a minority amongst Sheps, she honestly wasn't paticularly pertrubed about the new Normandy, though the fact that it was given the same name as her first ship left her somewhat indignant. The new quarters were appreciated, though luxury isn't something she's used to. The lighting got to her though (slight photophobia?), she had relied on shadows so much through her youth that the bright lights leave her feeling exposed. The bridge and the battery room are her favourite haunts, which haven't changed too radically from the SR1.

@Influ Your Shep's lovely, like Cap'n said, her features are nicely balanced. =]

And April has been busy over the last few days:
