my hubbyand i were talking about how movies/vgs change direction mid-run and i was noting that the small thing that most got me about me2 was the sudden overly-sexualized clothing for the female characters. me1, ash and liara were sexy, but totally appropriately dressed. benezia was the only one who made me roll my eyes. in me2 though, only jack's seems reasonable (given that i feel like she'd choose that for herself). kasumi's is fine, tali's was imported from me1, so it follows the "tight but suits her" trend. but miri and samara's clothes just seem SO at odds with their combat abilities and even their personality. miri's personality says "ice queen" to me. her clothes say...well, i'm sure you can supply the metaphor.
anyhow, it makes me happy that they left armor options for femshep that still look and feel like armor. i really hope in me3, the trend evens out to something more fitting. good looks is great, but if it's at the expense of what looks like reasonable protection for a person needing armor, then that's just silly.
alright, end morning rant. for all that, i do like the med. armors. they manage to be sexy without looking like they offer no protection.

Just keep it the hell away from femshep!! Honestly the thought alone of overly sexualised armour for her just makes me rage! Probably because after what we have seen cropping up recently its still in the realms of possibility. We discussed her armour and differing bust sizes for her before. Lets just hope Bioware stay sensible and carry on making positive strides forward instead of backwards.

I still think that the reason Miri and Samara wore wha they did was because of their own personal biotic barriers. That and knowing how smart Miranda is that her suit isn't made of actual latex but some bullet proof, flame retardant, yet flexible material so she has movement to use her biotics, sort of like the light armor suits in ME1. I'm even writing it so Kallen asks Miranda what's up with her not wearing armor in guns and poems and Miranda responding with some answer like that. I mean Miranda dies the least in game (at least in my games) even on insanity.. That said I do love the armor she gets from the last appearance pack and I'm gonna mod it onto Kallen one of these days so they match.

With Miranda, they were definitely trying to go for the 'femme fatale' look, and as groan-worthy as it is logistically, it otherwise fits in that regard.

Lynn: *sighs* "So what is the problem?"
Volus: *gives Lynn the manifest* "I brought this shipment in, and this crazed vorcha stole half of my cookies! Screaming something about preciousouses."
Lynn: *curious, looks at the boxes and at the manifest* "So why is Girl crossed out on those boxes?"
Volus: "Um. . . uhh. . . I can explain those, uh see these Eclipse sol. . . "
Lynn: *annoyed* "You have got Volus Scout Cookies handwritten on them. There's Voll House on those?
On these Veebler Cookies boxes you've got stickers . . . Just what the hell is a Velf?"
Volus: *uncomfortable* ". . . well I bought, um . . . these Mercs uh. . . "

I hate this weird trend when it comes to women armor/suits in games. I also don't quite understand why everyone in DA2 for example has to have these absolutely massive you-know-whats.
Tracts of land?
Whilst the Dirty Pair is an anime series I enjoy, I don't want FemShep's armor to look like their "space bikini" outfit.

When I looked at it I thought Russian so I punched it into a translator and it popped out with. . .
It roughly translates to 'Well, what the heck I poured her a krogan ale?' Or something like that. . . everything after krogan seemed a bit messed up, so it's possible I punched in a wrong character or something.

yep. seeing as tali is such a popular LI and her tracts of land are smaller than most of the gals, what does that say? i love tali's armor - the decoration is clearly something that went on over the practical layer of high-tech fabric. anyhow, just a rant o mine - i also find male gladiator armor quite silly looking most of time, too.
