while that is a valid point, i do believe a lot of femshep fans simply like playing as a woman because the galaxy needs more kick-ass babes defending it. male action heroes are a dime a dozen - a tough, smart, deadly woman is a nice change of pace in the world of fiction.

and, amazing as it may seem, some of us are actually women who like to play as women. just sayin'.

I agree with Sage. It's something to have a strong, smart, and badass woman saving people and being a Hero. and as a writer I'm trying to see the female POV when it comes to being a hero which is why I play as femshep sometimes, since we all know she's one badass woman.

I know. Did you actually read my post? ^^; I believe I just said I'm not anti-femShep. BUT I'm creeped out by those (teenage) boys who would "do" their own femShep. I never said anything about female gamers playing femShep or guys who just play femShep for the heck of it.

But when it comes to female action heroes, I'm actually more into the femme fatale type of girls. FemShep is not really a femme fatale, but more like, well, pretty much exactly like manShep but with a female model and a female voice. But I don't wanna risk a flame-war so I won't talk bad about femShep in this thread.

i did read it, no worries. I was just pointing out that there are a lot of not-teenage-boys on the forums. *waves hand*

i, personally, wish they'd bothered to get a female motion capture for femshep. however, jennifer hale's voice goes a LONG way to overcoming that. and i've come to like femshep's kind of tomboyish charm. she's a little awkward at times. it's cute.

As I writer you should have realized that the role for both manShep and femShep is just one genderless script that fits for both genres. When they wrote Shepard's character, they knew players would be able to choose Shepard's gender themselves. So they kept Shepard genderless in the script and all the extra media (like the books and the graphic-novel).

As for short, Shepard's gender is not part of the script and I thought you as a writer should have realized that. No offense.

However, I do agree that female heroes can be pretty cool and refreshing.

My name is Ryn.  I am a 22 year old woman who happens to have a huge crush on my FemShep and I would "do" my FemShep if she were real.  I just broke your stereotype.

That's cool. I still find it awkward though that you have a crush on your femShep and would "do" your own character. But you're propably just joking right?

Thanks!  So do I.  She does that during the Blue Rose of Illium quest when the Asari disses human and Asari relationships, saying something along the lines of "You only have to stick it out 100 years then they die."  Kathryn was offended by that because she's in love with a certain Asari! Whats wrong with admiring beauty? Femshep is sexy, and I mean Im playing the game for hundreds of hours. Id rather look at a pretty girl then a dude. And so what if we want to do our femsheps. We made them fit exactly what we wanted so isnt that kinda going to happen?

So people have a crush on their femshep-me included, doesnt mean its a bad thing, just is. I mean hell you probably like at least one female LI in the game and would do her if she were real. I know I would totally do samara. However my femshep wants her so maybe.....threesome?

Lmao...

I play FemShep because I happen to like Jennifer Hale's VO work better than Meer's. He is so emotionless... soemtimes during major scenes!!! The fact that a like a woman that's in charge and knows how to kick ass is also a reason.

I don't play FemShep simply b/c I want to "do" her. Good lord, the things people come up with....

I, for one, think my FemShep looks rather gorgeous... and if she were real then, hell yeah I'd wanna "do" her. So would a lot of the other people here with there FemShep's. FYI, most of us are NOT teenage boys. How about you get a little less insecure and actually try playing a FemShep!? You might like it!!!

I'm sure there are plenty of straight/bi females or gay/bi men that play MaleShep and have a crush on their Shepard...I know lots that have the hots for Sheploo, for instance.
