Agree with the majority opinion on the strangeness of the Jacob lines, the fact that it seems to come out of nowhere. They totally nailed it with Kaidan, you could feel something there but it wasn't overt.

agreed. supposedly they have the same writer, which is strange. don't get me wrong, AD, truly, when i talk to jacob as a friend and ignore that he's a biotic, i like the guy alright. he stays out of your hair and does his job - i respect that. i also hear these awesome lines from the end of his romance and think - dang, that's what i want my femshep to be able to say to someone. but it's like something went really wrong with the writing and implementation of that character and i can never put my finger on what, precisely, it is.

Whenever I use certain biotics, it has a warping effect on the camera shot. This makes sense in the normal over the shoulder view, but when I go to fly-cam, the warping effect is still there, no matter how far I am from my character. So, when I take a picture, it looks like it's being taken through a barrier curtain. Is there any way to avoid this and get good crisp shots of biotic action in ME1?

as akari said, timing, mostly. the warping effect from warp itself is very hard to work with, imo, because warp is so brief a skill. also, the warp one just sort of bends the scene in, like crumpling up a tissue. the two best that i've played with are barrier and singularity (i run adept).



^ singularity swirls the screen (like a flushing toilet - sorry, can't think of a better metaphor) which can actually be played with for very cool effects. if you get it early, it's a ball of energy, if you get it mid, it lights up shep, if you get it later, you get a cool trail effect, and if you get it after, you can get flying mobs. all very fun.



barrier just glows, but if you play convos right (sometimes i skip a chunk of them to get it to last just so) you can get some nifty moments of shep glowing when all else around is dull. it also helps her stand out against backgrounds which makes for nice screens.



i've seen some neat shockwave ones also - noah shepard i think, is in one, but i can't for the life of me find it to post it! - and reave has some cool after effects. throw and pull also work - i haven't used them much yet though.



i also find it's good to have slo-mo set up for flycam, if you don't already. i find slowmo is nice for getting yourself the good shots - and for screencaps while in battle (esp. in insanity).

and dang it, i came in here to post my last adept guide and it's still uploading. it's been uploading all night - wasn't THAT big. my slow intarwebs (grumble grumble)

Some really nice screenshots there, Sage. Especially the second one. Singularity has to be one of the best skills to use for an awesome screenshot, even if your Shepard isn't a biotic.

That's not the original though I messed about with the colours in photoshop and cloned out some of the glare around Silmeria. The original shot is here for comparison.

Stasis also has a pretty cool effect on it as well, just after you lock down a target. I'm not going to try and describe how it looks, so here's a screenshot of it instead.

oooh! nice akari! i find anything with omnitools just looks awesome. like "take THAT from my glowing mitten!"

i forgot to mention i think many of the best flycam shots for action in battle are closer in to shep than further out. while you can get some good ones from a distance, my faves often end up being ones where i can clearly see her face and i know it's MY shep, not just some stock photo from the devs.

edit: @ aimless - OMG! femshep vs. oculus! that is EPIC. that needs to become a marketing shot for femshep RIGHT THERE!

It's picture time again. Need to take some combat shots too, but I wasn't in the proper mindset for it now. Pausing the combat all the time makes me fail lots more. Anyway some of these expressions are quite cool me thinks.

I have just finished to listen a part of live chat with writers Mac Walters and when he refers to Shepard always says "he" (I don't know the rest). these type of details really bother me. He should have more consideration with whom, like us, their Shep isn't Sheploo.

ryn, I watched your vid some days ago; the hours and the effort you spend making it are palpable; The feelings really hit the viewer, especially if you read Shai's bio before. I think that is very difficult, and you reach it markedly. Vid's development is very accurate; the flashbacks fit perfectly. Maybe the weakness is the scenes' change and the resolution of the video (although both are justifiable because  you start off with a limited material in game and you recorded at the XboX, I suppose). But what I like more is Liara's image you send.
It is a great vid.  Again you surprise me, ryn.

OT, but I just wanted to let you all know that you don't want to make Anoleus angry. No, he won't turn into a gamma-radiated force of obstruction, he'll just get even more annoying than normal.



Eta: This will probably be my last attempt at getting a lvl 60 character. I'm about 15k from that and still haven't completed Feros. Next few runs will be single runs and I'll just sacrifice some talent points to get the Charm and Intimidate scores I need for various decisions.

Oh I know I mentioned this before and didnt do anything but I will upload another femshep folder at page 1100.   Reason being, its daunting cutting so much good content down. Secondly my last one still gets a heap of downloads and only recently started to slow.  Not far off 1000 unique so thank you everyone


Basically what im saying is if you have anything awesome up your sleaves and want it included in the next zip pop it in over the next few pages

I've actually always wanted to do just a "flycam" screenshot run through of both games with Holly and get some of the best shots I can. I want to make a really good album of her. I get so sidetracked with video-making though, my screenshot collection suffers.
