Wish I knew how to use After Effects that well.  I just can't get into that program, no matter how hard I try.  Really awesome video.

Kinda makes me feel pretty inadequate.

Nice wallpaper, Captain Crash. And I love your Shep (and the shot), ADLegend.

Meet my Shep, Kate. She's my favorite play through, at maxed out paragon and maybe 1/4 renegade.

:crying:

Naahhh, not the case me thinks. I can only think of two words right now: time and commitment. Yup, I sucked once at After Effects, and I felt like it's UI was the most bizarre thing in the world of video editing software hehehe. But I took the time to take the baby steps!

Also, bear in mind that this thing took me four months working weekends only. Perhaps an After Effects Guru making a living out of it would have pulled it off in less time.

Anyway I'm sure that if you put enough commitment into something, and learn proper techniques and tricks, you could also make something great. I'd like to see more great fan art for FemShep ;).

Cheers.

Is inadequate???!!!

I DON'T think so. I'm a big fan of that one! ;)

You are very kind! I'm glad you enjoyed it. =-)

Yeah, I think I just need a book. Or maybe I could take a class. I tend to try and figure things all out on my own which can sometimes work out and sometimes not. XD I'm still learning things about Sony Vegas, which is what I mainly use. I'd consider myself still quite new to editing, since I've only really been doing it since... what, last October? I appreciate the encouragement!

@MizzNaa

Why, thanks!

And I can't play mostly paragon because I hate paragon self-righteousness. "No we can't do that, because if we do it, we will be no better than them". Well, you know what, Shepard? You are no better than them already. Gawd I can't stand her saying that, being so judgmental.

snipping from the original quote, but i think this is interesting.

i find it tricky to play purely paragon or renegade. pure paragon femshep can sound naive and just...not believable as a commander. but pure renegade just seems too unhinged for me to root for someone like that. for me, it was about coming up with a femshep that had a personality and moral compass that was consistent, made sense, and seems rational for a solider to have. me1 was a lot of paragon decisions because i figured she was still pretty pro-alliance, pro-rule, pro-by-the-book. me2 she slipped more into some very vigilante choices, but they became more firmly her own. i tend to roll mostly paragon actions, but neutral to renegade ways of talking about it.

i dunno. i guess i just feel that someone who commands a team to the ends of the galaxy has to have a charisma that i've only seen in people who have total command of themselves. so for me, the only femshep that makes sense is one who has some driving sense of ethics, and whether it goes paragrade or renegon, it's rarely totally to one end of the scale.

that may not be making sense. i'm not sure this late in the evening....

None of my Paragons are 100%. I completely detach myself from the point system, because I don't want it making an impact on roleplaying decisions.

I'd consider Holly a Paragon, but she has weaknesses. It's a bit difficult to describe her personality. She has her own sense of honor, which she does her best to adhere to. I'd say she is comparable to Captain Picard in Star Trek. She's kind when she needs to be, firm when she needs to be, has a strong sense of justice, is cultured/intelligent and a master of diplomacy.

And failing that, she's a hell of a shot with a sniper rifle. ;-)

As for the other end of the spectrum, Moira is definitely not full-on Renegade. In fact, she very firmly believes many of the things she does are actually the right thing to do (some actions she takes in my videos were merely to make them more visually interesting). She's good to her crew and has a soft spot for families in need, since she's never had one of her own. I'd call her a Renegade with a heart of gold, or a Renegon, to be more precise.

@sagequeen: I caught the last video Saturday night in between a restart of my computer before starting Abigail's run. Very good. Was amused at the *-hit attack nickname, especially your pronounciation of it.

Getting used to playing without a sniper rifle. Got wasted by that blasted krogan on Therum because I mistimed a biotic attack. Bleagh. Nailed him on the second try. Lift, polonium IV ammo and the first marksman ability seemed to work while Tali used her AI Hacking on one of the Geth as a distraction. Garrus still got KO'd on the second battle.

I tend to play mostly paragon, though I get about 25% renegade on my runs. A lot of the major renegade choices are things I tend not to do.

@ sin: ha! glad you liked. my original pronounciation was a little closer to an actual swear-word. it was funnier that way, but i was afraid it might get me in trouble somehow with youtube, so i toned it down. but i figured it would help people remember it.

Ooh, wonderful job. Hm...I will use these guides as I replay Lia, she needs it. I'm sure her squaddies were like "What the hell is she doing?" most the time. because she didn't use cover that much, plus she used melee quite a bit (more of a Vanguard sometimes)....anyway, I need to finish up and finish her up, I've been playing alot of DA2 lately, so it'll be close if I manage to beat it by Tuesday, ah, the joy of DLC...

@AD
I'm hoping Arrival is that good...But, it'll be hard to beat LotSB. It was just THAT good, as was Kasumi.

Renegade with a heart of gold is how I would describe Caroline.  Sort of, Moira's seems more of a wildcard compared to Caroline's by-the-book ruthlessness.

Apologies in advance, but I have to refer to the tropes site: Jerk with a heart of gold

In fact between the 2 games she's split about even 50/50 paragon and renegade, but I'd say her personality is more complicated than the alignment system.  I gave her the ruthless background to set the groundwork for sort of a hardass military reputation.  It's a facade that she's willing to perpetuate to maintain authority and keep others emotionally distant.  But she'll fold if faced with something that just seems wrong.  Seeing David in Overlord was an "awww crap" moment, where there was no question she was going to do the paragon action.  Sort of Mal Reynolds, but really more like Chuck's Casey.  The tough guy act is all (mostly) a big show.  She really cares.

...actually, I remember the "Kitchen Sink" part more. :o

(Then again, I have the "there is no overkill" quote in my signature, so it's not surprising.)

tropes site! i've wasted so much time there laughing my head off. (hides)

for Kyrie, i want to say her decision-making is most closely related to Arcturus from the Clive Owen version of King Arthur. that "i will do the noble thing because it's what we stand for in Rome the Alliance. oh, wait, they don't stand for that anymore? well screw them. i'll stand for it by myself."

i love heroes like that. it's a kind of nobility without self-righteousness, idealism without blindness, and a sort of grim honor. it's pretty f***in' amazing to see it in action. i guess that's why kyrie's particular decisions have shifted over the playthroughs, but always in the hopes of more effectively pulling off that kind of heroism to my satisfaction.

Yes, Caroline definitely seems like a by-the-book kind of gal. Moira's unpredictability mostly stems from her fiercely independent nature. She doesn't have much love for regulations, rules or limits. She ended up in the Alliance to escape from Earth for a very specific reason (which I need to get written down), but she believes the skills she learned were valuable. Becoming a SPECTRE was like that "AH YES!  We do things my way, now!" moment for her.

She uses Torfan in much the same way Caroline does (to make herself look like a hardass). It's not something she remembers fondly and sometimes wishes there could have been a better way. That facade has served her well, though, because I've managed to roleplay her to a point where she seems like a very scary person if you don't know her. XD

As for Paragon-like things she does:
She rescues David from Project Overlord
She punches Zaeed and saves the refinery
She comforts Nef's mother and hugs Tali
She tells off the C-Sec jerk on the Citadel harrassing the Quarian
She takes one or two Para prompts in LotSB and hugs Liara
