That does help readability slightly but I think it looks pretty good anyways. Thanks for the miniShep base, I might have to play around with it :)

Yay I got good punch screens this time through Arrival.

The debriefing dialogue. For me, it was just a happy accident that it fit. UJ is almost pure paragon w/ 1/5 renegade, but w/ a few caveats, the lines fit her quite well. She's not going to start screaming at Admiral Hackett. That's just not her. I can sympathize w/ people who wanted to do that as I wanted her to bless out TIM on several occasions and she couldn't. I also slightly disagree that the debriefing is devoid of emotion.

"I'm fine." Spoken in a curt manner tells me that she really isn't fine.
"There just wasn't enough time." Here, she's very regretful for what happened. Yes, it's understated, but that worked for UJ.
"What are you saying?" Maybe it's just me, but I felt Hale added just a touch of vulnerability to that line. She knows Hackett is about to say something that will change her life.
"I'll gladly stand trial." This is one of the caveats. My UJ is not going to cheerfully say, "I'll gladly be your scapegoat." A better line for her would have been, "IF it will prevent a war ... I will turn myself in." The line would have to be in a very somber tone, almost as if she wanted to be punished for what she did.
The enthusiastic, "Yes sir!" to Hackett's "You did the right thing." would also have to go. UJ's line would be more, "I know, but it doesn't feel like it."

All that said, there needed to be reaction from a crew member, even if it was Kelly. Something to let us, the players, feel like we are in control of Shep. Ad's Kallen could invite Kelly to the "I killed 300,000 Batarians AND saved the galaxy. Life is great!" party. UJ would thank Kelly for her concern and ask that she not be disturbed while she goes to her quarters and screams into her pillow for hours. I know, none of that was going to happen, but something would have been nice.

Actually if you dont play a pure paragon player you will probably enjoy it.  Since I did, I found the DLC horrible to the type of person Bioware established as a paragon player. The dialogue wasnt fitting at playing paragon resulting in this detached feeling I keep pointing out.

But yes LotSB is possibly the best DLC ever made!!  Overlord is really good too!

Perhaps that's true.  I take a more paragade route most of the time, so I didn't feel that her telling Hackett that her actions saved the lives of trillions at the cost of a few hundred thousand was too off.

I think everyone has by now, some here have been through it multiple times already.  I did last night with Maddy, and I hate to say...I wasn't impressed, not as I was with LotSB. It did yield some good ol' fashion combat gameplay which was nice, but I have to agree a bit with Crash and a few other on the fact that it did seem a little "void" of good emotional content...that LotSB was ripe with. It just had that "recruitment mission" feel and not the "ME3 bridge DLC" feel it should have.  The debrief portion did work for me in certain aspects...but there were quite a few instances in which I know Maddy would have responded "WTF!?..Are you kidding? They want me to WHAT!?"

Over all, it was a good play and worth the points. Is it what I was hoping for, or looking for in the big "Arrival" DLC?.....not really.

Yes Unkei, we'd love to see your "Arrival" pics....post away! :D

Go for it Unkei!! B)

You know what else I hated the first thing she said to Admiral Hackett on the Normandy

Hackett:  "How you feeling?"
Shepard:  "Fine, no more visions if that what you mean."

lol what?  :?

Anyway I digress from what I mean to post.  So I tried Arrival for the third time.  Different Shepard and one who has been neglected since 10th February 2010.   Thats right my first ME2 playthrough, Jane Shepard.

Hi Jane

Image IPB

So its been a year hun? How are you? Im so sorry I havent seen you since then.  hmmm wheres Kelly, thats right she, the crew and Mordin died  :( Anyway lets see what needs doing DLC wise...  ohh all of them... oh good!

Firewalker
Kasumi
Overlord
LotSB
Arrival

So lets do arrival first, that way you still have some really awesome DLCs to rid you of that experience.  Additionally your an adept!!  Brilliant, time for a Respec and put SageQueens video tactics to use! :)

Just playing as an adept again made me enjoy the game.  The survival scene was great. Lay a singularity trap. Rince people with the Tempest.  Yes I forgot how fun the Tempest is because I dont have the locust yet!

So yeah Arrival was still rubbish.  But my opinion has gone up slightly now!!  Well, unless I think about Amelia's playthrough again.  :P

Missed you Jane *hugs*

Now that people are actually posting them, I figured it'd be time to poke my head in and give my approval of Arrival. I enjoyed it. Though I suppose most of that would come from my utter DELIGHT at having so much Hackett in it. Hm. Maybe. :D Annnd now I can post a few screenies without getting blasted by the flashmob.

So, I just beat Arrival with Titra. That was fun, I got alot of headshots when she cloaked and used her widow. Lia kept wipping singularity and reave on their asses (changed from barrier, since I knew reave would come in handy)

Some Lia:
Image IPB
"Such a badass power! Biotics and blood, mwahahaha!"

Image IPB
"Kenson, get the bloody camera out of my fac1 I'm here to rescue you, damn it."

Image IPB
Lia: I don't trust you, Kenson. No offence, but working around Reaper tech and not getting indoctrinated. I don't buy it.
Kenson: No worries, commander, your right. I'm indoctrinated, want the Reapers to come, and will blow myself up. Just be ready to shoot.
Lia: Just once, can't I get away from crazy people?

Image IPB
Lia: *under her breath* Goddamn it, so much for blowing up stuff with Jack and Grunt.
Hackett: What was that?
Lia: *louder* Nothing...Sir.

Here's a few of Titra:
Image IPB
Titra: I can do that. But, what if I took a thief and an assassin with me. Nobody would know we were there. Trust me, they're good.
Hackett: No, commander, alone.

Image IPB
Titra: Sir, I don't think  I have my dress blues anymore. Last time I saw them they were on the SR-1.
Hackett: Shepard, I'll send you a new set then, just...be ready.
Titra: Yes sir.

Hahah, yeah, Dia's an adept, so I just... tossed a singularity on the mech and it shot right up into space. The other guys got slammed and thrown up, too. I think she fired off... maybe five rounds. Child's play!

And then she got to make eyes at Admiral Hackett. All was well.

Allow me to throw mine :D Actually, second playthrough of this DLC kinda changed my feelings towards it. It wasn't so dull as I thought, but because of the shoot, shoot shoot, talk, shoot some more, I still think Overlord was the best DLC .
I was happy seeing some new animations for Shepard, I enjoyed watching her pissed off and helpless for a while (three-frames screen below), I also was surprised with another portion of upgrades. Not than I'll actually use them after SM... There was a time when I thought they're gonna put 10 of them for every weapon etc, but I really think this will be the last story DLC.

Honestly, I don't think there was too much time for feelings. Shepard had to react quickly.

I understand the rush for the ultimate sacrifice.  But the dialogue was too cold.  Amelia would never have acted like that even under those circumstances.  Even at the end when it was all over it was still cold and detached. Nothing paragon was in that DLC.  No choices, no interupts.  The only paragon line in the whole thing is about a trial she wouldnt care about. Oh wait there was an option to warn the colony but that was ineffective anyway and in fact you were cut off very quickly by the doctor.  Then its back to the whole cold attitude of "must start project, nothing else matters ect ect"

So yeah I wasnt happy with Amelia's personality transplant let me put it that way.

I understand you point of view but I still think that über paragon lines wouldn't have been realistic in this situation. With all due respect I still have to say that I disagree with you.

I still don't buy that cold thing, though. Shepard had clear goal and she had to make sure that the Reapers can not get to the relay. No matter what, nothing else matters or everything is lost.

I totally understand the Shepard's attitude. I don't think that it sounded cold, it sounded somewhat desperate. It was the only thing she could do. Failure was not an option and there were no other options either.

Sometimes you have to act the way you normally do not and that's what actually made Arrival special in my opinion. It was really close call and there really wasn't room for kind words or empathy.

When it comes to warning that colony I think it really showed what kind of person my (paragon) Shepard really is deep inside. Even in that situation she tried to warn those batarians.

They could have added a bit more emotion to the conversation with Hackett but it's somewhat understandable. It takes some time to process all that and before you realize what has actually happened.

Thats Fair enough

However for me I have played Amelia for 100 hours now so I know the personality she has. Thats been developed by Bioware as a reaction to the decisions they created. What happend in that DLC just felt alien to me.

Still its my opinion and several people disagree with me and a few people agree.  Just shows how hard it is sometimes to get it right. You cant please everyone at the end of the day.  I think I may be one those unlucky few this time round.

Anyway I rarely complain about anything and these past few pages thats virtually all I have done. I've said my piece on arrival now and everyone knows my stance. Im not going to dwell further on it and will move on.

Femshep question time! Would your Femshep want to become, as I put it, supreme overlord of the Galaxy? I say this because Shepard is the only one who gets things done, and Since Liara is the Shadow broker, she could make it happen. Discuss!

I managed to grab a few nice screenshots even though the lighting seemed so wonky through most of Arrival. Pardon my picture spam.

I wish the wake up scene from Lazarus project was as natural as the one in Arrival.
Image IPB

This one is straight out of a horror film. Devi doesn't take well to rude awakenings.

Image IPB

I like this shot better than the one from LotSB:

Image IPB

Devi is feeling devious. Well, not really since she just sentenced 300,000 Batarians to their deaths.

Image IPB

And I found this shot rather sexy.

pfttt when Laura gets her hands on Liara at the end of ME the Galaxy will only exists in the 10ft square of the captains quaters!

Shepard will certainly get things done as always! They can fight between them who gets to be the supreme overlord.   But they will probably just take it in turns [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/wink.png[/smilie] :D

Nope!  Too much responsibility.  Too much minutae.  That much power requires a lot of other stuff that isn't much fun.

Same reason Alice won't rejoin the Alliance.  She likes the freedom.  She likes working with the best of the best on  important stuff and would rather leave the politics and compromises to someone else.

Really up until you die at the start of ME2, yes. But after all that's happened, it's not so clear anymore. If there's a chance to just go retire in peace after the Reapers are defeated, it would look mighty tempting. But if the galaxy was in chaos and any retreat spot would be in potential jepoardy from outside forces anyways...I think Myddine would take power and control if she could.
