So a question for you all - Tup's geth re-write got me thinkin' - what decision from ME1 or 2 are you MOST curious to see the outcome of? They could be the ones you felt most conflicted about or just the ones you're really curious to see how they play out, even if you'd never in a million years do them differently.

The rachni queen.  Will they be an asset or a liability?  Will the be used again by the Reapers or will they be able to fend off indoctrination?  Will the council send out forces to "deal" with the rumors of the rachni returning, thus spreading out resources?

I won't. Being English, the accent doesn't do anything for me, and I already have an awesome sniper. She's called Silmeria. ^_^

I hear that.  :wizard:

@Sage

I definitely want to see what's up with the Rachni. I enjoyed talking to that asari on Ilium and thought it was a nice affirmation of Holly's decision to let the Queen go in ME1.

I also want to know what's up with the Geth. Holly re-wrote the heretics, as she believes the Geth could be invaluable allies in the war against the Reapers. She also finds Legion incredibly fascinating. She brokered for peace between the Geth and Quarians. Holly believes if both sides took the time to try, they could peacefully co-exist.

The fate of the Krogans and the genophage cure. Wrex is currently in charge in Holly's game, so I'd like to see what he does leading a united people.

What's TIM going to do now that Holly has turned her back on him and blew up the Collector base? For some reason, I see him becoming a problem later on.

In Moira's game:

I want to see what TIM does with the Collector Base, first of all. I'm also curious to see how her continuing to work with Cerberus will effect things in ME3.

I know a lot of us dig the mysterious and sexy british sniper, but I kind of hope that these things occur in ME3:

No new squadmates (except the return of the VS or Wrex). The reason I want this is because I feel as if most of ME2 was about building up our main team, the people who are going to stand with our Shepard when the sh*t really hits the fan. If they died in the SM, well, they just won't be there. I'd also like to see more conversation with them, further development of their personalities and current romances given a lot more attention (especially the VS!).

Lots of chances to respond to situations with our Shepard in various ways. As in, I don't want to see my Shepard act like a block of wood. Give me the reins more. Let me act like the hero or a total b*tch, even if the outcome will be the same... let me choose how to get there. More stuff where we can express how our Shep might feel (like in LotSB, or one of Jacob's romance conversations).

I also hope to see them handle the "starting at level 1" thing in a reasonable fashion. We had the big dramatic death and destruction of the Normandy. I doubt they would do something like that again.

Anyway, that's just me rambling on about my thoughts.

I think they'll have us start at level 30. remember ME1 capped at 60 so I think we start the war at half power and get back to Level 60 for another "extreme power gamer" achievement.Image IPB

While I admit my second Arrival playthrough left me with a SLIGHTLY better impression (at least I pulled some nice screenshots), you are absolutely right:

@ADLegend

I do recall them saying the gameplay mechanics won't change much, but who's to say?

Holly would enjoy some more Infiltrator goodness.

I do agree that the Alpha Relay was a total AssPull, though. I wouldn't necessarily call it a RetCon, but I can understand why people would see it that way. Then again, I'm the sort of person who doesn't get super caught up in things like this. What I'm hoping is they did this for a good reason, which is difficult to see from this side since we have no idea what the plot for ME3 is going to be like. It's a mystery what our FemSheps will face. All I care about is that it's epic, enthralling and doesn't leave us with some half-*ss ending without closure.

@cgrimm

Those screenshots are awesome!  I love the expressions your Shep makes.  :D

Good points, Aislinn. I'm trying to get there, but I guess I"m just too picky about the story, and, frankly, LOTSB set a very high quality bar.

I would like to see how Geth will react on Reaper invasion and the relationship between them and Quarian. Legion mentioned about they are just caretaking Quarian's homeworld rather than use it as a base, that leave a possibility that they may hand over the planet to Quarians if their creator is willing to come to peace with Geth.

Of course, how it turns out about Rachni is also interesting to see too. :)

I agree. =/= wooden shepard plz.

And though I do go on about Big Ben (it's tongue in cheek...mostly) I would be very happy if there were no new squaddies and they built up the existing squaddies. I feel like there is so much room for them to expand on the people we already have. We've been deprived of Ash/Kaidan for an entire game with 0 character development, and I don't feel like the ME2 squaddies had enough interraction with Shep (for my tastes, I'll say, I could spend the entire game just talking to people.)

I'm almost positive they'll introduce some new people though, just because of how much they go on about the experience of meeting new squaddies and how each game should be a standalone experience. Bioware loves their new companions. You never know though.

Dr. Kenson:  "I give you... Object Rho!"
Holly Shepard:  "Indoctrination really does lower your intelligence..."

I genuinely hope Holly gets to verbally own that turian councilor in ME3.  Or at least that's MY fantasy.  :lol:

The Rachni Queen decision and the Geth rewrite definitely have me wondering, but there are some "character encounter" decisions that I really wonder about as well. They seem minor, but I'm not so sure. A good example is Rana Thanoptis. When she showed up again in ME2 working for Okeer, it surprised me. Then I was REALLY curious when, in a playthrough with Zaeed, I let Rana go and he said "That's gonna bite you in the ****."

EDIT: I can't believe that word just got censored. I even tried to be all compliant by using dollar signs.

I'm curious to see if saving the Feros colony makes any difference in ME3.  Maybe it ends up being strategically helpful or something.  Right now it only gets mentioned by the Matriarch Bartender to add flavor and passing reference to ME1.  Mostly because I'm (probably one of the few) folks who deemed it too risky and wiped out the entire place.

As I write though, I'm thinking maybe it's never going to be mentioned again because it was left out of the genesis comic.

@Skald

Didn't they say at one point that LotSB was an example of what they wanted to do in ME3? I hope that is still the case. I don't believe Arrival was meant to be a deep DLC, just something to do that eventually leads up to the really good stuff.

@ELE

I found myself thinking about Shiala, actually. I found her state in ME2 rather disturbing. It seemed like the Thorians influence (or spores) were doing something strange. Perhaps she may be turning into a Thorian, herself? That could just be me reading too much into it, however.
