Didn't they say at one point that LotSB was an example of what they wanted to do in ME3? I hope that is still the case. I don't believe Arrival was meant to be a deep DLC, just something to do that eventually leads up to the really good stuff.
-snip-

Let's definitely go with that!

In other news, I read one review that said Arrival was a love letter from BioWare to ME fans.

EDIT: Yikes! Almost wasted a TOP:

Unfortunately, they took it down cause it isn't April Fools day anymore. =-(
But, you could enable an option for every video on the site that would do that.

Disagree. "Ah, yes... 'Reapers'..." is simply awesome for it's quotability in  so many situations. And please, Bioware, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let us have it as a renegade-interrupt for the Turian councilor in ME3 whenever he mentions Reapers after they show up:

Ahem. Anyway, as I was saying, "I give you... Object Rho" is down there with "I. AM. OMEGA." in the annals of weak, cliche dialog. "Ah yes...'Reapers'..." is far too awesome to be ranked down with them. ^_^

That said, just a quick message to Admiral Hackett:

You're damned right this is no longer a Cerberus ship.

(and, jeeze, people! I've been gone 2 days, and the thread has gone about 20 pages!)

[edit]
Figured I'd just edit it into this post rather than making a whole other post or thread to complain about what has probably already been complained about, but...

In the Arrival DLC, why the hell are Batarians wearing helmets with only TWO eye-holes????

sorry if it's been addressed... I just needed to vent for a moment.

now i know why i love the crappy merc armor so much. it reminds me of the good ol' days with the shifty cow.

I love Duelist armor. If I want to look clean and spiffy, I'll put on Colossus medium. If I want to look like a hunter or a marine, I'll put on Predator M (I usually deck out Ashley in Predator H and Kaidan in Predator L if I come across it... my unofficial 'Official' combat gear for Alliance marines). But, if I want to look like I've been out there actually doing tough stuff that leaves a mark on you, medium (or light, as in your picture) Duelist all the way.
B)

Image IPB
(from my current play through with brown-eyed Artemis; a.k.a. the 'real' Artemis; light Duelist because haven't found medium yet)

(I think light Duelist is the best looking armor for Liara, even when she's sad)

(Liara rocks the Duelist while Athene rocks the Colossus)

Wow, the obsession a short one minute teaser can cause. Also, it just occurred to me that he sounds a lot like Craig Fairbrass.

No matter how awesome he is, if he is in ME3, I think my femsheps will be sticking with non-humans. :3

So I finally did a renegade playthrough. The theory is to see which decisions bite me in the butt in 3, be they paragon or renegade, and then I can try a perfect runthrough.

Here is my renegade Shep, Famke (since I've decided I would choose Famke Janssen to play Sheaprd in the movie, I've tried to get as close looking to her as possible with the vanilla character creator!). She's a ruthless, earthborn vanguard in 1 and a soldier with slam as her special power in 2 (because I'm too in love with sniper rifles in 2).

hmmm... you know, to continue my pollyannaish tone for the evening, i'm intrigued by multiplayer.

if it's TOTALLY separate from a well-done singleplayer that finishes out the ME saga in a grand style fitting for the rest of the series, then whatever they do on the side is fine by me. i like to LAN play with the hubby, and the idea of joining him and/or other folks for battles sounds great. even if it is a non-shep with kyrie's face running around, i'm cool with that. just give me singularity and i'm good to go.

edit: in arrival, kyrie took out more than one batarian in a very unsportswomanlike manner...

Guh. The talk about Arrival and the system you blow up makes me wonder if the Salarian Councilor was thinking along those lines when he complimented your saving Feros but also admonished you that a Spectre has to be prepared to make sacrifices.

Hey thats cheating! :innocent:

Actually I been thinking about if I should take Jane or Amelia with me on my first playthrough on ME3 and decided with Jane.  Her decisions were based on my actions without any knowledge of the SM so am really interested to see how they develop further.

I done 4 playthroughs on ME2 and I wont do another one now before ME3.

Oh love the armour style by the way! :)   Goes along side the renegade vibe for her.

Only four? Hmm... actually I have only three true femShep playthroughs. Fourth time is going to be infiltrator. I'm going to use my LIless lvl 60 femShpe for that when I'm finished with ME1. I'm most likely going to use that on my first ME3 playthrough. Ladies first so Sheploo will have to wait. ;)

Only 4! Bloody amature! :P;)

I don't even know how many playthroughs I've done. Far too many I would suspect. If you've lost count that's probably a good sign that you've played a game too much.

And it's all because of the awesomness of femshep.

Four? Damned amateur! I have 9 completed saves and 3 incomplete. Though only 6 of the 11 characters are femsheps. If Tali was a LI for femshep there would be way less brosheps.

Yeah and the shortest of those playthroughs is still 54 hours   Thats still needing to do Arrival.

Im going to be honest ME2 just hasnt gripped me in the same way ME1 did.   The first game I have about 12 plays going.  About 7 complete plays and three level 60 Characters.   I love ME1 and really want to do another play again soon.

It is tempting to create a new femshep I must admit.

Heh. I hear that. I have two play throughs going simultaneously right now. One is with Athene, a vanguard who has completed one play through and hasn't yet made it into ME2 (she's level 55 right now, and I want l60 for the import bonuses... her current play through will be her 'canon' play through). The other is with Artemis, an infiltrator who is basically a remake of my first femShep of the same name (confusingly, Athene is the original Artemis in looks, but a different class, while new Artemis is the same class as the original and almost the same in looks but with slight face tweaks and dark brown eyes), and she's about half-way through her first play through. I've made some screw-ups with the mouse slipping on the dialog wheel, so she'll need at least one more play-through regardless of the level reached at this one (though I doubt I can get her to 60 in one PT... just not that dedicated to grinding for as many extra XP as I can).

Not to start a flamewar about which game is better (I'll just state for the record: I love them both. However, I love ME1 more than ME2. But I still love ME2), but this bit from this review of Arrival sums things up well...

Compared to what has come before in this universe, Arrival is a husk--outwardly familiar, yet lacking the character and careful construction that give Mass Effect 2 its soul. This is how a game can suffer when the elements that make it special are remixed or removed. By withholding excellent characters, squad banter, and the element of choice, Arrival transforms Mass Effect 2 into a mediocre third-person shooter.

Change "Mass Effect 2" and "Arrival" into "Mass Effect" and "Mass Effect 2" respectively, and that pretty much sums up my views, though I'd not want to sound as bitter, because ME2 is still damn good fun.

Back on page 1103, I compared my views of the Mass Effect universe to my views of Stephen King's Dark Tower universe... I still stand by that, so I can take disappointments in where the story may be going in stride and still enjoy it.
:innocent:

And, now it's time for Jeopardy, with your host, Alex Trebek.

"I'll take 'Positions that people who aren't Cmdr. Shepard never want to be in" for $500, Alex."

The merc is actually already dead. A weird bug stood him back up and froze him into position, so I decided to take advantage by shoving a sniper rifle in his face.

Poor Conrad. Also, fly-cam FTW, because the game's camera angle for that scene isn't so great.

(aside: with all of those honeycomb shapes, I feel like your Shepard should be [eddie izzard]COVERD IN BEES![/eddie izzard])

Uggh, I hear ya. I've noticed that a good bit in ME2. In a lot of ways the graphics seem gorgeous, but with all of the clipping here and there (watch Garrus play with an assault rifle... his armor must be a hologram), objects in the game feel less solid, even with the more detailed textures and shadowing. ME1 had clipping issues on occasion, but they didn't seem as ... in your face? Noticeable? I dunno... but despite the generally less detailed graphics, people and objects seemed more solid and there.

IMHO.

Errr... so, yeah... I like my femSheps like I like my coffee... uhhh... covered in BEES!

[edit]Speaking of odd clipping (well camera positions, actually) in ME1, be sure to take Wrex with you when you go to talk to Emily Wong in the Citadel Tower (for the planting a bug mission). If Wrex ends up standing on your left, the camera gets positioned inside his head. You see the scene clearly (i.e. from the inside, his head is mostly invisible) except for his eyes floating there.
