I finished a second playthrough of Arrival. I feel obligated to complete it with each character; this time around was with Nemain. Can't say she felt too bad about letting so many Batarians die, but she certainly was not as regretful as Devi.
I thought playing the DLC a second time would improve my opinion of it yet it still feels so bland and limited. As Shepard I could not show grief or joy at the decision I was forced to make, and some of the dialogue was simply cheesy. (Example: Dr Kenson towards the end tells Shepard: "I will die never having seen the Reapers blessings. And you will just......die." God, it was such an awful delivery.)
I did like the fact that Shepard carried into the cutscene whatever weapon she was using in battle (did anyone notice this?) and I also liked the heavier presence of synthesized background music. In this sense it felt more like ME1.
I won't defend Arrival, but I liked it more than most for the
implications. On the weapon cutscene, mine was actually wrong every
time. Then again, I played a vangard and used the Matock quite a bit.
It normally depicted UJ w/ the Locust. I may need to play a more
traditional vangard and use the shotgun and see what happens.

I really miss the scar and the lighting and the ... never mind. Thanks to Sable for the mention.
