@Jamie: those squadmate dialogues were perfect. Especially Samara's and Jacob's. Jack's, Zaeed's, andMorind's made me laugh. Ic ould also detect ahint of sadness in Legion's response, the same way he would talk during his LM at the servers.

EDIT: Top O' the page. No arrival screenies of Kallen yet, since I only took her 360 version through the DLC, but when I do get it on the PC I'll put some up, for now Epic gun point!

Would have appreciated the chance to salute to Hackett in Arrival. Much like you can do when that Admiral wants to inspect the Normandy in ME1.

After all, Shep still considers herself part of the Alliance and especially looks up to Hackett.

A bit of pic spam this morning.  Work finally has let up and I got my main rig back so I played through Arrival again last night for much better quality screen shots than I took originally which also including one nice biotics one. For all the pictures of Kate I've taken,  I didn't have a nice one of her being glowy (it did get some help in photoshop)



And I tweaked this shot so that it isn’t so dark and I can actually see Kate’s face in it.



And then standard shots for Arrival.


 

 




I wasn’t able to get the breather mask working so I skipped over the ending shots because the default helmet really clashes with the old school N7 armor I use on Kate. For anyone that was able to get either the breather mask going or the helmet removed for the ending part of Arrival I’d love to know how you managed it.

i thought that, too. tiny shep, yet hugely defiant. i went for all out renegade lines at the end of Arrival and loved every one of them. kyrie may make paragon decisions 80% of the time, but her mouth tends to run away with her.

@ shenzi - love the biotics shot. i, too, had trouble with the breather mask enabling at the end. but then i died (stupid mech, insanity, grumble grumble), and somehow when i reloaded, it enabled the mask for me. not a tactic i'd recommend, per se, but it seemed to work.

Related to this, does anyone have any recommended FOVs? My FlyCam is now equipped with six "lenses" with the following FOVs: default (the FOV value in bioinput.ini is 0, but that seems to correspond with about 80 or 85), 90 and 120 for wide shots, and 56, 28 (which seems about the FOV for cinematics), and 14 for more "telephoto" shots, though these also seem like they'll make good "portrait lenses".

But, I'm just fooling around with it at the moment.

Anyway, I'm sure I'll keep tweaking, but if anyone has any recommended FOVs, I'd love to know them. Also, what is the FOV of a zoomed sniper scope? Also, is there a way to toggle Depth of Field effects? These are meant for taking modeling shots of my femShep, so hopefully this is still reasonably on topic.


(I wish there were some way to toggle incrementing FOV with the mousewheel while in FlyCam mode...having a portable variable zoom lens would be quite awesome. This isn't possible, right?)

So post-Arrival, I got hit with a burst of inspiration (and was given the gift of several hours together without interruptions) and managed to bust out 4 chapters of FanFiction.

I've been planning these endgame chapters since I first started the story, so it's really fun to finally get the ideas down. I think Kyrie will hate me for it, but...well...

The first try at spelunking through FF.N only yielded a fanfic wherein FemShep had all the personality of a lump of oatmeal. ...a lump of oatmeal that bursts into tears every .2 seconds. lol.

  If it's terrible enough, that kind of fanfic can be entertaining in its own right. 
Our very own sagequeen's femshep fanfic is some of my favorite, no crying oatmeal in sight.

I'm only on chapter 6 but I see exactly what you mean, ELE08.

Everything is so spot-on that it's fabulous. It's so wonderful to find a fanfiction that truly 'sings'. The only problem is it makes me want to go play the game - LOL - but it's good enough that I keep getting pulled back. Excellent job, sagequeen!

I'm looking forward to reading it and getting to know Kaidan Alenko a little better, too, I've only played ME2 and not ME1... and as such my Shep's reaction on Horizon was more or less "Who are you and why are you yelling at me? D:"

@ ELE - yeah... it's hard when shep is such a marysue to give her moments of humanity that don't make her appear non-canon in the process. this one, however, i'd been plotting forever. again, i think she's going to hate me forever for it.

@ harpalyce - alenko's a good kid total badass, if i do say so as a major fan of the guy. i am sad ME2 gave a lot of people that "who are you and why are you so angry?" impression. i really hope ME3 does something better for him - and ash, too. they deserve much better.

It's hard to not give Alenko a bad rap after ME2, but I may just be saying that because I've been listening to Fleetwood Mac's "The Chain" over and over and want to draw out a comic with my embittered FemShep thoroughly rejecting Alenko...

Seriously though, this is a wonderful 'fic. You can really tell when an author's had fun writing it because you just get carried along for the ride and it's absolutely delightful. Thank you so much for sharing it with us!

I think it's really okay to be angry at VS for the right reasons:  betrayal - yes, confusion - no.  The writer's really dropped the ball on that one.  I feel like with just a little more content, context, they could have made it actually interesting and full of drama, without having them jump on board or even reconcile with Shep.  As it is, there seems to be a lot of "What the heck just happened" and "Who is this jerk and why is he yelling at me?" and in my case "That's it?!"
