his a** kicked and come back for more.

That would be pretty goddamn hilarious, I think. Bioware would get so much crap for it too.

:D Thanks everyone for answering the karaoke question!

I was actually thinking of some Fleetwood Mac, so I am tickled by that - maybe it's because Stevie Nick's voice reminds me a little of FemShep's?

Yeah, it does for me. I wonder if we can petition Bioware to have Shepard sing in ME3, or an ME3 DLC....ok maybe that wouldn't actually be a good idea.

I decided to try some digital drawing for the first time. I've done a fair amount of pencil/pen stuff, but dang using a computer is a whole different animal. Not totally happy with it and it looks funny to me unless viewed at full size, but I can't work on it any longer :lol:.   What do you guys think?

@ the Marshal - oh, good! the updates are working. they are broken for me, so i was not sure.

@ harpalyce - oh, ME1 *sighs* I truly do love both games for different reasons. but i SO MISS the me1 squaddies and the old normandy. and i miss the continual references to shep's backstory. it made each shep feel more unique, imo. i hope they bring some of that back for ME3.

did anyone else feel ME2 sort of truncated the "range" of shepard that was available to you in ME1? i felt like ME1 shep could be more paragon, and the renegade could push more to the anti-alien harda** vs. the renegade roguish bada**. i just felt like there was more range to what shepard could "be" in ME1 and ME2 compressed that range a lot more. no more bigot shepard, no more uber-paragon alliance poster girl shepard. it felt like the game wanted you to be a smart-mouthed renegon or paragrade.

kyrie could go with it. i had several sheps that didn't make the cut though, because i just couldn't imagine them every working for cerberus. they got ditched at import.

@aimlessgun -

I'm going to sit here and be quietly envious of your ability to draw schematic things like armor...

I think it looks great! I'm really digging the style, it looks very crisp and clean and professional. The shadow is really well done as well!

@Sage - They're not working for me. I'll see an update because someone posted it in one of the forums here, or I'll check my fav's list and see a recent date in the updates column, but I won't actually get an email until 4-5 days later.

I think you're right about them limiting the kind of Shepard you could rp in ME2. I mean, one way or another, you have to join up with Cerberus to get things done, and even if you don't want to, you can't just blow off your crew's 'loyalty' missions and make it through the game. There really are a limited set of options presented to you. I know it's a video game, and your options are ALWAYS limited, but it was definitely felt more in ME2 than ME1.

From my Shep's perspective i would describe it as "working with Cerberus" and not as "working for Cerberus".

I have a quick modding question, if someone can help?

How do you get casual outfits to work in combat areas of the game? I've added a casual outfit as an armour piece but when I try to equip it Hrist ends up wearing the Cerberus fatigues, not the actual outfit I've added to the ini file.

I've removed the 'CasualAppearences' bit from the beginning of the code and changed it to 'TorsoAppearances', but no dice.

I added the old medium N7 armour to the ini file and that works fine, but the casual outfit doesn't want to play.

Edit:

@aimless: Nice drawing. I think it needs something behind Shepard though. The white is a little off putting, in my opinion.

force casual appearance
Bindings=( Name="NumPadone", Command="set SFXPawn_Player bUseCasualAppearance true" )

force armor appearance
Bindings=( Name="NumPadtwo", Command="set SFXPawn_Player bUseCasualAppearance false" )

AFAIK is the only way to get some of the casual texture variations to work in combat areas (if set as armor pieces they automatically switch to a default texture)
Forcing casual appearance in combat areas will also make your weapons invisible which looks a bit odd.

Which version of the 'fatigues' are you trying to enable, or is it a different outfit?  One of the fatigue meshes can be texmodded (the same one scamper uses for casual wear retexes.)

@ ELE - oooh...can that force casual appearance be used to force the other styles of Med/Hvy armor?

i'm assuming no, since i've been looking for a way to hack on the horizon armor with no luck at all...

Yup.

What Shep's wearing on the Normandy will be carried over to combat areas.  Again though, invisi weapons, kinda weird.  But Kyrie's an adept, so weapons-schmeapons, amiright?

Exactly! In ME1 we had much more space and more choices. In ME2 it was too compressed. My Sarah Shepard can survive it. But other Shepard's just can't.. But i really should be careful when talking about Cerberus with Sarah.. She hate them .. a lot and working with was hard enough.

Nice one, ELE. I'll give that a go.

The casual outfit I want to use is this one.*

TexMod is a no go, as it kills my fps for some reason. The game will run at a pretty constant 60fps, but as soon as I run texmod it takes a nose dive, and is unplayable.

As for the weapons not showing? That's actually a benefit, as it'll save me having to edit them out in photoshop.

*Why yes, that is one of Sage's screenshots. ;)

Edit:

That got it. Thanks, ELE.

Well crap. I was looking around for a way to force casual wear so I could use the medium Colossus armor on missions. But I don't think I could live with shep shooting invisible weapons. I guess that's that then. *sadface*

Alright!

So post-Arrival, I got hit with a burst of inspiration (and was given the gift of several hours together without interruptions) and managed to bust out 4 chapters of FanFiction.

I've been planning these endgame chapters since I first started the story, so it's really fun to finally get the ideas down. I think Kyrie will hate me for it, but...well...

enough rambling: Valhalla continues

Endgame 2: Boarded (or "Sh*t!")
Endgame 3: Prediction
Endgame 4: The Message
Endgame 5: Secure Transmissions

and pictures to go with the fiction:

>snip<

Enjoy!

I love this.  Kyrie is my favorite Shepard as I've said many times before, and no small part of that is because she's so real.  Those human moments you put in there are usually quite funny.  Also your writing is very good.  Can't wait for you to finish.

You can also use those commands in conjunction with the armor locker to change clothes on the fly. Never be inappropriately dressed for combat again. :)

Liara: Wow, Shepard. I really like that armor.
Shepard: Thanks! I got it to match Kaidan. Don't suppose you got any intel on where the devs are hiding him, do you?
Liara: No, just vids of Jacob doing crunches in the armory.
Shepard: Wait, you have footage of my ship but no intel on Kaidan?
Liara: That's right. No one cares about *him* except for you, apparently.
Shepard: *sigh*

@Sage

I love your writing, it's so fantastic! I make feeble attempts at fanfic every once and a while. I find myself always writing dramatic things, I suppose because I am an emotional person. XD I fail when it comes to comedy, so I tend to stay far away from it in vids/writing/etc

@Sage, ELE and others

I feel you. Missing Kaidan, too. ;-( Ugh, I feel like I'm getting absolutely nothing constructive done today. My apologies the Arrival vid isn't out yet, I'm sort of taking my time with it. Want it to be nice.

ooh! looking forward to the Arrival vid, aislinn.

re: fiction, i have a deep love of action, drama, humor, romance, comedies of manners, martial arts, irony, epics, fantasy, and mystery. it makes me feel like a total schizoid when it comes to writing - i want to do ALL genres at once!

it also makes me a major pain when selecting a movie for movie night. let's watch a western AND jane eyre! >< my poor hubby.

sad but true. The Shadow Broker had encrypted fiels from the alliance AND Cerberus, possibly the council too, but can't get anything on Kaidan and Ashley? Lame. Who knew to hide from the shadow Broker you had to be the virmire survivorImage IPB

I got nostalgic this evening and re-created Lia for ME1. Sentinel, like Kaidan, so he'll be tech and Shep will do the healing. *sigh* knowing where it ends up takes a bit of the fun out of it, though.
