In my no-LI playthoughs I choose the bottom "I trust you won't have any questions when whatever's coming hits the fan?"  to turn-off his romance.  I think it's in his first conversation.  It might be the "zip it, LT" option when he says "there's writing on the wall...etc"  It's been a while though, so I can't remember for sure.  It didn't seem mean to me, just like Shep's kind of a hardass and wants to keep things professional.

Hmmm... I could swear I've chosen those options (as well as the "Highly Inappropriate" option in the scenic view of the Wards conversation) and still ended up with him saying "I'm gonna need some time to process that".
:?

Seriously, I've been looking for a quick way out of his romance while maintaining friendship (like Ashley's simple "You're out of line") for ages, and I've not found one. Artemis is about 2/3 of her PT1 of ME1, and then I'll do PT2 of Athene to get her up to L60 and make her real decisions for import, so I'll have a chance to try again soon, but I could swear that such a quick path didn't exist for him.

If it turns out that it does, then I'll be ecstatic. I would be VERY happy to never have to hear "I'm gonna need some time to process that" again in response to my friendly conversation.

Your FemShep, in one word and only one word. Go!

One word? Hard.....
Lili: Passionate
Athena: B*tchy
Lia: Unpredictable
Titra: Battle-hardened
Maria: Kind
Naomi: Sane
Elizabeth: Caring

One word? And only one word? Oh dear, that's a tough one...

I'll have to go with 'comedian'.

In my head Delia is constantly cracking jokes that may or may not be funny to anyone but her. Dark humor is definitely what gets her through the day.

You just have to face it, Kaidan is in love with your FemShep! Don't try to resist!

Haha. I know for certain there's a way to turn-off his romance without being a jerk (IMO) I've done his romance so many times.  I don't think I could turn him down if I had to be rude about it.

I edited my post because I thought you were trying to let him down easy but still get his personal conversations.  NP, he's strictly professional with a non-romanced Shep (I assume it's the same convos male shepard gets.)

1.) apologies to any Kaidan fans, but I have yet to find a Shepard that is attracted to him, and I usually find him annoying (from the romance angle; I like him and find his backstory interesting from the just know your characters angle). Case in point: I thought we were just talking and I was learning about him, and he asked if I was like that with everyone. I said Yes, I like to know the people I'm working with. But I don't necessarily enjoy it with everyone. Now, to me that is not a come on. That's just being straight up friendly and honest. And he comes off with "I'm gonna need some time to process that." EVERY TIME, my reaction is "Process WHAT???"

2.) I find that romancing Liara makes for a better story. You get to have someone there for that touching scene outside the lockers, not to mention the love scene. On top of that you get that feeling of... of... "I don't know what it feels like but it feels right" when you reaffirm the romance at the end of LotSB (and not just reaffirming the romance, but having someone to talk to who isn't making any demands of you). I honestly hope that those of you who romanced Kaidan get a similar moment in ME3, because for me it was one of the most powerful moments I've ever experienced in a game.
:wub::crying::happy:^_^

And since I'm sure everyone has the exact same picture with their own femShep, I'll throw mine into the mix.

1. ah yeah, that middle line still being relationship encouragement threw me off as well first time I picked it, I'm farily sure its a bug, the same way as "renegade" line for Liara is a bug.  (I originaly thought that blaiming him for the beacon would have stopped the romance, but it didn't...chalk it up to bad programing IMO), but I generaly just suck it up and go with "I was just waiting for the good part" in a very first post spectre induction conversation and it seems to stop any romance from happening, while still letting me ask all the questions I want (edited to add-  yeah, he divulges a bit less if you don't romance him, but you still get a lot of his backstory, its just not as personaly charged as it is with a romanced femshep).  I believe it was a second conversation where he's trying to tell you about not cutting corners? (or was it the third)  where he asks if he's out of line, and you can say - yeah, you are.

2.  all ME1 LI's get a locker scene that is both touching and lovely and you can make it go several different ways depending on responces, including the one path where Kaidan at least tells you "everything is going to be all right" and I really do love the romance scene for both Kaidan and Ashley, it has so much desperate passion to it in the beginning.  Liara's scene has a different mood to it, in some ways its almost reverent.

I do hope that we get the sort of reaffirmation scene as you get with Liara...eventualy.

Psssst!  Hey, over here!

ME2 Arrival FemShep Trailer  (Available in 1080 HD)

A few things of note.  It has a different flow than the original as well as differing dialogue.  I also used music from the DLC (and a few sound effects), from about 4 different tracks edited together.  I think it's a great soundtrack and was surprised they didn't use more of it in the original trailer.  I wish I knew who the composer was, haven't been able to find out as of yet.

It's a tad more spoilery, but not too much so.  I tried to make it feel a little more epic, emotional and slightly Paragon. Anyway, hope you enjoy it!

Thanks! It is more spoilery, but I think it's still vague enough that it's acceptable.

Very nicely done. You can feel the emotion at the end, and it was epic, so you definitely succeeded at your goals. (Don't know if it works as a 'trailer' though :P)

I don't think it was much different than stuff I've seen at the movies, rife with spoilers. Anyway, call it what you like. You also have to realize that Arrival doesn't have a ton of stuff to work with.  I could have half-assed it and made something mediocre (with less content), but that's not what I do.  I can see how it was a challenge for the person who made the original, having to make something out of so little with a lot of limitations.  Even that trailer shows a lot of what happens in the DLC.

Wow, that was awesome.

I was rather unimpressed with the original, the spoilery bits make your's so much more powerful. And of course I love the emotion in Hale's voice.

i think there are 2 good ways to turn kaidan down. one is if you plan to go for liara. just don't talk to him until she's on board and pick her up first. when you talk to him, be sure to indicate interest in liara asap. asking him about the last mission, then saying "i saw her first" does the trick.

if you plan to romance no one, i prefer to get "offended" when he offers advice about leaving you a way out. it's the second convo you get with him (so you do get that "i'll have to process that" thing). taking the "neutral" lines once he says "i had a point here - leave yourself a way out, etc." is, imo, a very professional way to end things. shep comes off a little cold, but it sounds more like "hey, this is MY ship. what are you doing telling me how to run things and questioning your superior officer?" i had an earlier femshep take this line with kaidan (she was meant to be REALLY by the book) and it worked so nicely for her character - only, i'd intended her to be a kaidan romance. needless to say, she got set aside and kyrie ended up going down a very different roleplay road.

but just saying, that's a nice way to turn him down, if you wish to. it comes off more like a disagreement of roles and kaidan overstepping his bounds than shep being the mean one.

I don't remember how it is I turn down Kaidan exactly. I believe it results in a response that goes something like "Sorry, Kaidan, this was just a battlefield thing." I believe I went through those conversations a few times trying to find better ways to turn him down. That one ended up sounding right to me.
