Bah. The Rule of Cool is NOT cool.
This a large part of why Dragon Age 2 sucks.
Believe me, I do not disagree at all. I hate the "rule of cool". I wish every one who succumbed to it's siren song and follwed the temptation to put it into any kind of story were subjected to a few hours in a Cerberus test facility. As the test subjects.

ME2 seemed to be a lot more "Rule of Cool" than ME1 did.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks so. A lot of my early annoyances at ME2 and its differences from ME1 can be chalked up to this. [insert rant about squadmates and armor here]

Another question: What would your FemShep take her LI out for dinner and get?
Hmmm... tough call.
Both of my femSheps at this time are romancing Liara. Assuming Liara is cool with "normal" food, and given the ideal choice, Artemis would cook. Not only would she cook, but it would be meat and it would be fresh. It would be fresh because she would have hunted it herself. If we are talking "taking out for dinner" then it would be an outdoors dinner, maybe at the camp of a Prothean dig site where Liara was poking around.
Artemis was not named because she was expected to grow up to be a hunter; but when she discovered the origin of her name, she chose to live up to it. (I don't have a full back-story developed for her yet, but you'd better believe it involves scout/sniper specialty during Alliance boot and/or N7).
Athene is a bit more refined. Not sure what or where the food would be, but it would somehow be classy. Even if it is in the dirtiest hole-in-the-wall dive of Omega, Athene will find a way to class it up a bit. And you'd better believe there will be wine involved.
