I read all of it and enjoyed it, which is a credit to your writing skills. Usually when I start reading about other Shepards my brain goes "this is not canon! do not want!". Maybe someday I will be able to bring myself to read fanfiction...

Unstoppable sarcasm team, go!

what? you wanna know Kallen's?

Kallen: I'm Commander F*cking Shepard. *guitar Solo* (not really, but it sounded good in my head)

  This one deserves some serious thought.

I'm tempted to go with "More Dakka". So appropriate...but also a little out of place in Mass Effect...

EDIT: Pictured: Some dakka, but not enough.

you should see Kaidan rejection then :) its equally sweet, though it doesn't stop the romance like it does with Garrus. I posted a comment on your blog, explaining how I felt about Kaidan in ME2 situation, but I can see how different people could react differently. the only thing I don't get is the hate.

and since we're talking about femshep and garrus - a super rough sketch that is still in progress for your viewing pleasure. Simone, my renegon vanguard and Garrus :)

D'awwww.

I completely understand those who were able to be a lot more understanding when it came to Kaidan. I wanted to be. My Shep's just a little... tempestuous, despite being heavily Paragon. And even then, Garrus totally lured her in by making it sound like a casual thing. If he'd professed eternal love right off, like Thane did, I would have been a lot more cautious going in. But what's the harm in two friends having some fun together and nobody gets hurt? Then, before I knew it, it was all headbumps and implicit trust and repercussions for the future.

I read you comment on my blog, too, and it makes perfect sense. Though for me, the fact that Garrus needs me to keep him on the straight and narrow is... appealing. My favorite love triangle always involves a completely upstanding guy, a sort of chaotic good girl, and a guy with questionable morals, who only needs guidance to stay on the path of good. Do you reward the guy who's already got a strong moral compass, or do you help the one who needs you? Choices, choices!

If anyone's curious, here is my horribly long blog about my Femshep's emotional arc throughout ME 1 & 2. I swear I have never identified this closely with a video game character, Femshep is amazing.

I know exactly what you mean!

Other than "I should go" B)

"I'm glad we didn't kill each other" without the in Virmire part...because Jen would not hesitate to kill if it's necessary but she's always happy when things go smoothly.

Also.."I'll relinquish one bullet. Where do you want it?" that was so awesome :D

Lili: Bullsh*t.
Maria: KILL IT WITH FIRE!!!
Titra: Boom, headshot.
Naomi: CHARGE!
Elizabeth: Goddess give me strength.
Athena: Silence! I kill you!
Lia: Bloody hell.

Lili's is just something she says quite often.
Maria uses incinerate...alot.
Titra is always gettin' headshots, she competes with Garrus, Thane, Zaeed and Legion, almost always wins, too.
Naomi charges....alot.
Elizabeth adapted her religion to it, plus she romanced Liara, so....
There is a reference for Athena's.
Lia uses a common phrase from London.

I'm sort of jealous how you gals can much better relate to your femsheps. I'd imagine it makes her even more awesome.

Ooh, catchphrases! Maybe "Hallowed are the Ori." for Adria. No, wait, wrong universe. That line "I don't like being jerked around." would be quite fitting. She does not appreciate people messing with her. Things tend to get rather ugly when that happens.

And it's 5am now and I'm still lurking around and constantly refreshing this thread. I think this thread needs to be labeled as hazardous to health.

I know what you mean.

I could think of one line that fits Moira perfectly:

"You don't want to be my enemy."

Garrus:  "Yeah, they have a tendency to end up dead."

I hear the whispers....

Okay, maybe I should play Arrival instead of viewing clips. I finally installed it and used my only FemShep (or Shepard) to get through it and am mildly annoyed that it looks like it activates without any choice as soon as you access the private terminal. Of course, she finished the whole game before the DLC was loaded so that might have something to do with it.

It doesn't matter, you have to talk to Hackett on the monitor if you want to use your terminal. It's kind of annoying. You can choose whenever you want to go to Aratoht, of course.

Strange thing, that.  I do put pieces of myself into my female characters like femshep, so at least partially they're an extension of myself.

On the flipside, I picture my canon-Hawke as male, and I just find myself randomly drooling over him, like watching a movie with an exceptionally handsome leading man.  Is that how it is for some male femshep players I wonder?

Well it sure is more appealing to watch a female backside shake around for the 20+ hours of gameplay. But there's no drooling involved for me.

Similarly. Though admitedly, four of my FemSheps are based on fictional characters so they are more viewed in that light. With a few changes to match the ME universe, of course.
Abigail Shepard's father isn't a Grayson Steadholder, for example.

(Though Edward Shepard did spend about a year getting into wacky adventures with some bounty hunters before ending up back on Earth with that gang. Also, unlike other Earthborn Sheps, does know her father at least. Except instead of trying to map a constantly changing Earth, he's trying to map the entire galaxy so he's still not around. It's all Aislinn's (and my usual insanity's) fault.)

Kylie/Kyrie (I'm considering them cousins at this point. Their stories are based on two alternate timelines. Depending on where the Batarian slavers landed, one will end up in the Alliance, and the other will be a civilian. So they didn't lose their entire family.)

actually, despite the commomn misconception that only female femshep players can relate, I consder Kallen Shepard to be the female version of myself. One that I would tots hit forevers. my other femsheps get the movie with a hot leading lady effect though bit I still lurvs them but rarely make deicsions I would actualy make with them.

Uummm, yes.  I have a serious crush on femShep.  This thread is like a liquor store for an alcoholic, in regards to myself anyway.  I have to stop from commenting on all the awesome screenies, 'cause I'd sound like an idiot fanboy.  Moreso than I already do.

I have to admit, I started playing femShep from the beginning almost solely because I knew I'd be staring at the back of this character for 30-40 hours.  Now, several hundred hours later, I'd still make that choice for dozens of reasons and the superficial, visual reason would be the last one on the list.

Oh, and nice GI covers everyone!

Please tell me the vid-cave is like the batcave.  I imagine you editing footage surrounded by a giant coin and a whiptastic car and all kinds of other cool gadgets/trophies.  You at least have a snarky english butler bringing you tea and commenting dryly about your choice of framing in a particular shot.  Right?

Erica: I am NOT in the mood ... (Well, the only time she is in the mood is w/ Kaidan, so ...)
UJ: I'm Commander Shepard.

Obviously when you are writing a character you do need to take gender differences into consideration, but not as much as most people think.  Ultimately, the character is the character, whether they are male or female. I like to try and distance myself from a character, if I am writing them or playing them in a video game, and make them their own person.  I grew up around woman, there were a lot of woman in my family and I have several female friends. Whether or not that gives me a bit more perspective, I don’t know. To answer the other question, while I consider it rude to drool, I do find UJ quite attractive. ;)

And here on the east coast, guess whose birthday it is now ...

Uh, kinda, yeah.  One of the reasons Renée is a redhead is I find that particular trait attractive.  I do admit to that being some of my choices.  OTOH, I'm not sure I would have played FemShep as often as I have if I didn't enjoy Jen Hale's voice work, though.

In answer to the question posed about catch phrases:

Renée:  "One shot, one kill."
Nimue:  "Charge!  We can sort 'em out later!"

If only it was that awesome.    More like a pathetic little office filled with the few things I own.  I tend to be a bit of a minimalist.  I do have a few nerdy things sitting around.  I has a weakness for action figures.

As for the whole male/female thing.  I'm a bit unique in that situation in the sense that I find both males and females attractive.  So, when I design my FemSheps... yeah, I do give them features I find pleasing.  I tend to gravitate towards playing female characters, because I can relate a little better.

Holly is supposed to look like me, though.  She's sort of my escapist FemShep... so I suppose it's projected self image?

Ooooh, catchphrases!

*thinks on it* Hmmm, I suppose my two Femsheps would have...these.

Tessa Shepard: "Ah...screw it." (Generally said when unexpected badguys burst out of hiding and start shooting).

Malvina Shepard: "Oh look, more idiots to kill." (Generally said whenever she sees people she doesn't like :P )
