I bookmarked it as well as Tupexi's but I will probably need a reminder once the new OP is up.  I can be very forgetful.

I have a pre-emptive thread coming
together to get some clear cut answers from the devs.  Essentially the
sooner the Devs reply with a definitive answer on certain aspects of
playing the game as femshep the better.

I think an important question to ask is if we will be provided with screenshots of FemShep in her bonus armors.  I was going to create a thread for this but since you are making one, I'd like it if you added this question.  It's been in this OP since the beginning:

When ME2 bonus items were announced, Sheploo was only shown in his bonus armors.  Paying customers who play as FemShep deserve to get a look at what she looks like in bonus armor.  I think it's only fair so that customers can decide from which place to pre-order the game (GameStop/EA/Amazon..etc).

If you don't know what else to ask, you can always check out this thread in the group.  I've sadly not been following it lately but if you need ideas, that is a good place to look.

Yes, please.  Having to wait to see what it looks like in-game is a little unfair.

And, yay!  Shai!

Could I get a video in on the new thread, too?  You can pick whichever one you like.  <3

It shouldn't require much work from BioWare since it's so easy to get screenshots as it is and they basically have the keys to the entire game.  lol.  A few minutes spent getting Sheploo screens should be the same for Jane Shepard screens.

Of course I will add one or a few of your videos. ;)

Some even looked decent, but those forced helmets ruined them all.

That's what i mean. They have these different armor parts in the main game, which you can put together as you want. And then they're coming with those unchangebale, yet decent looking things... didn't use a single one, although i have them all.

Thanks folks!  This is helping out loads!

Currently I am working with 7 major points and three wishlist type ideas I will pop in at the bottom. Please give me more suggestions if you can. Im making the points in the thread very through and exhaustive.  Mainly because I think we deserve these answers now.   These points are constantly brought up and the devs havent replied to them.   Its time for some answers especially since a few of the issues have been around for well over a year!

Anyway I been chatting with Ryn and once I got things together I will pm a few of you to have a proof read.  Feel free to tear it apart, that way we can make sure we get it right for Bioware.

B) :)

Seems like you are hitting the key points:

- more feminine (but not "girly") animations: ME1 set a fine standard to follow here. She moved like a human female, rather than like a male gorilla as in ME2.
- no changing the body, form, outfits, etc. for sex appeal (or to make her more space marine, in the opposite direction). FemShep needs to keep an athletic, soldierly build. No boob-jobs.
- As far as pre-release marketing, I don't think femShep needs a commercial spot (a lot of us are rather attached to our own femSheps, so any commercial wouldn't be the "real" femShep anyway), but yeah screenshots, especially those involving new armor types, outfits, etc. would be very nice.

You know, as far as I'm concerned, that's pretty much it. There aren't too many changes to be made to femShep for the better (or at least any others I can think of that are important to me), but a lot of changes that would be for the worse. So essentially, leave well enough alone (and restore the things that broke between ME1 and ME2, like character animations), please. ;)

Banners are up on the site. Plus, I ammnded the fanfic "rules."  We're going to need a femshep.com "Terms of Service" written up.  There is a general one for Ning, but we should have a few site rules, no trolling, no bashing, etc.

There is a modding section now too.  It's in the forums, but if you want to post a blog on modding, please do so.

We need some moderators to police the site as well.  I don't expect too much trouble, but better safe than sorry.

Gyah, it’s impossible to keep up with this thread when you can only check it once a day.

It’s interesting that dreams came up for the femShep Questionnaire of the Week.  As far as the Shepard character goes, after the Lazarus Project, Jessica doesn’t dream at all (something supported by the line in Arrival where she tells Hackett “I’m not seeing any more visions if that’s what you’re asking”).  This is a direct result of her being (as I still firmly maintain) essentially an AI construct in an organic body.  After the beacon in ME1, though, she had plenty of trouble sleeping, being overwhelmed with Prothean visions that ended up wrapping themselves around imagery of the trials she experienced in her missions, especially after Virmire.

That ties into the more interesting thing about this subject, though, which is how it intersects with my recent real life experiences, in that I actually had a dream set in Mass Effect myself, oh… almost a week ago now.  I haven’t been able to post really at all since then thanks to my schedule being packed, but it’s something that ties in perfectly to the subject, especially since I’m going to work it up as a fanficlet.  What was trippy about this dream is that, essentially, I dreamed that I was Jessica, having a dream about talking with Ashley in Flux.  In essence, I knew I was dreaming, but I dreamed that I was Jessica Shepard in the process of having the dream.  It was very trippy to be in a surreal dream-state Flux talking with Ash and Kaidan post-Virmire.

Anyone else ever had dreams where they were in Mass Effect?

I agree with out points. Those are the things I'm most concerned about. And I don't think that the gorilla run suits male Shep either. Soldiery build... Well, I'm fine if they keep the current body build. After all, not every soldier is a body builder.

As am I. Don't get me wrong; I'm quite content with the current body model for femShep. She is athletic and looks like she could very well be a soldier or, rather, military personnel (considering how many of our femSheps aren't "soldier" class). Basically, my intention with body stuff was essentially, "Don't change it. It's fine how it is, and almost any change would be for the worse." I'm pretty sure we are in agreement here, so my apologies for not being clear in the first place.

:)

[edit]
aside: WOOHOO! Athene is finally read for import into ME2. And I got a little screenshot happy... 31 new screenshots just added to my Steam.  :?
Mostly "typical" ME1 shots, but their "definitive" versions for Athene.

I think the best body model was actually the one they used for Kasumi's dress. It showed off great muscle tone in the arms, whereas many of the other casual outfits have such scrawny limbs. If they could keep THAT body model, I'd be a happy camper!

Have fun with the ME1 playthrough :D I'm always surprised how fun it can be going through again with essentially the same character.

And she does look amazing in your avatar. I guess that hair isn't available in ME1?

Thanks!  Yeah, it is fun, and I've already been doing a more complete runthrough than I ever did previously (the amount of tat - I mean loot ;) - you can find is incredible sometimes).  Plus, Katie changed appearance massively from ME1 to ME2 first time, so this time will be a bit different.

@ Crash: apart from the things you mentioned (unique animations being a BIG thing as far as I'm concerned), there's only a couple of other things that immediately spring to mind when it comes to playing as FemShep:

1. Will the dialogue better reflect that she's a woman? Nothing major, it's just that quite a lot of the dialogue responses are entirely interchangable between the genders, thus making it feel a bit off... (dialogue with the merc recruiter on Omega notwithstanding!)

2. Can we have at least one trailer/vid or set of screenies showing us how FemShep looks in DLC/preorder armour, or default armour prior to release?

3. Can we have access to any hairstyle in the game, thus ensuring that we don't have to hack our way through to make our FemSheps look the way we want them to look?

4. Could there be some forms of armour that could be unique to either sex?  I refer, of course, to things like my modded set of ELE's AltJack armour Katie usually sports, or the LotSB Liara armour.

5. Could they do away with combat heels please?  Not a big one for FemShep herself, but for female characters in general.

Err... ok, so that was more than a couple.  As compensation, have a bugged ME1 pic from last night:

@AkodoRyu - Yes, that's...  that's a very naked Marge!  :o  (Beautiful shot, though!)

I'll admit I wasn't paying much attention to the elbows (check out them guns!  *flex*).  I'll take your word on it, though.  I simply want a more realistic musculature.

Again great!   Its coming along nice and its great to add more stuff.

I spent the last couple of hours getting things together and writing a decent thread.  Time flew! Still got a bit of work!!   Problem is I think its too much.  Its a bit of a wall o' text.

Although having a part time job at the moment is terrible (cant do much about the economy) its nice to keep myself busy with these things!  Plus femshep always cheers me up! :)

@Crash:

The only things I can think of off the top of my head are no more couger femshep please. I want to be able to have Hrist talk to her crew without sounding like she wants to give them a personal debrief in her quarters.

I guess this falls under the animation issues; but no more sitting with her legs wide apart! Especially if she has access to a dress again.

Other than those two, the main things for me have already been mentioned by others.

No, that particular line of dialogue I'm referring to was in the first conversation with Hackett, when he asks "How are you?" and Shepard responds with the "no more visions" line.  So the mission hasn't even come up yet, to say nothing of Object Rho.

Naked Shepard is a hottie. Anyone ever try messing with the flycam during the love scenes?
