Yeah, pretty much. It's why I tried to post fairly general things.  ;)

Top of the page MacKenzie!

BTW, I'm forum code dumb.  How do I make my images clickies?

So I've gotten started in on sorting through all the stuff for the femshep vid. Thanks to everyone who sent me stuff and thanks for the encouragement generally. Wow, this is going to take me a while. But thanks to folks and ELE's help re: gibbed, I am on my way.

Question:

Are there any femshep lines and/or moments that strike you as quite iconic? That is, not just your femshep, per se, but lines that really sum up for you who femshep is and what she's about?

I frapsed a few of my favorites, but I want to hear what other folks think.

I'd have to think about this some more, but one thing I can definitely say is that with all the "kick butt" scenes that Shepard can have, the moment where Shepard comforts a grieving mother in ME2 (during the Samara quest) also strikes me as iconic. Whenever I see that moment in screenshots, it's usually with a FemShep. Does that make sense? (Comforting Tali completely does not count. =p)

Can't post much today, because my internet is being crap (oh well, time to get Artemis through her ME1 play through up to ME2), but I wanted to respond to this:

A few from ME1 (need to get back into ME2... soon):

- Just before being accepted as a Spectre (lower right dialog option): in response to "Humanity is not ready", Shepard replies, "A Turian Spectre betrayed this council, and a human exposed him!" (she further goes on to say, "I earned this", but were I to be making a trailer or something I'd cut that; just personal taste)

- in BDtS: "Is that what Elysium was, getting our attention? Well, you got it. And when we responded, you ran like cowards."

- also BDtS: "Commander Shepard, with Special Tactics and Reconnaisance"

- in response to Elanos Haliat: "You seem to think I give a damn. That's cute."

Surround them with {url} tags... the first would be {url=*your URL here*} and followed by the standard {img}{/img} code, followed by a closing {/url} tag.

So... for example: {url=*your image URL here*}{img}*your image URL here*{/img}{/url}
(replace curly brackets with square brackets in all examples)

That will make your image clickable to the full size version. Change the URLs suitably if you'd rather link to a page containing the image.

The paragon option when talking to Kalisah al-Jilani in ME2 (when she asks Shepard about sacrificing human lives to save the council, and Shepard lists off the name of every human ship that was destroyed).  Shows you how serious she is.

Pretty much this.

And, the tackling of Vasir during LotSB.

Yep the Vasir Line is one the best delivered lines ever.  Even Paragon Shepard has had about enough and turns on the tough!  It was amazing!!

"Vasir, I've sacrificed hundreds of human lives to save the Destiny Ascension. I unleashed the Rachni on the Galaxy.

So for your sake I hope your escape plan doesn't hinge on me hesitating to shoot a damn hostage!"

Those games of Skylian Five Poker with Ken & Gabby really helped here!!  Amelia bluffed Vasir good!! :D

A little piece from a new GI interview.

For both Mass Effect and Dragon Age, the marketing has focused on
male protagonists. Since players can create both male and female
characters, why isn’t the female side represented?

Muzyka:
That’s a great question. One of the things we really embrace in our
games is diversity and enabling people to take on different roles so,
obviously, we have strong female leads. We have amazing voice acting
talent for both the male and the female roles.

That said, for the
marketing face we have to make a choice. And it’s a tough choice to
pick an iconic face -- the face of the brand. You have to pick an iconic
representation for the brand and it comes down to the marketing team’s
intuition. It’s not easy because we know a lot of the fans enjoy playing
the female lead so we always make sure it’s just as high quality as the
male lead for the main characters in our games.

No surprises, repeats what we know doesn't it.   Carry on the Easter egg! B)

Heres something I recently thought up and added to my request list.

In ME3 the GI article says new animations will be added.  Climbing ladders for example, which sound like its going to be a very male type movement.  We really dont want to see a bulky male soldier animation and our nimble looking female adept!

gahhh I dont even want to picture it!!

I think most of the important/dramatic scenes from the game are well identified, but little strikes me as universally iconic. Different moments are important for different characters for different reasons. And yes, this is a wholly unhelpful response ;)

no, that's fair enough. i guess i should have said does anything strike you as really "femshepy" - either really renegon/renegade/paragon/paragrade femshepy - like it sticks in your head as "YEAH femshep!"

that's more what i meant.

thanks for the suggestions so far. i can't get everything, but this added to my list of ideas. :D

That's awesome news sage!  :D  As for iconic lines, I can't quite remember it (it's been a while), but the exchange between FemShep and the Batarian merc recruiter in Afterlife about the dancer recruitment made me laugh, as I was expecting it to play through the same way as when I did things with my ManShep (who I'd just maxed out a canon runthrough for before starting my FemShep runthrough). I was just like; WTF!!!:lol:

I put one of the quotes from it above, but the whole conversation with Elanos Haliat in the cave using only "renegade" options (quotes, because you don't get renegade points for choosing the lower right in this case) is a femShep moment for me.

Every time I do that mission, I just imagine my femShep is having a bad day and is feeling a bit impatient going into it. Starting from "Your grasp of the obvious is inspiring" all the way through to "We find a way out. Somebody up there needs my boot up his a**" is excellent, and the way Hale voices it makes it very "yeah, this is a femShep moment and she's definitely a woman I don't want to ****** off" scene for me.

Just my thoughts. :)

[edit]
Also, this is very femShep for me, partially because I've only played through once as maleShep, being very paragon all the way, and I just can't imagine him reacting to Haliat that way. Of course, those of you who have played more of a renegade or at the least less goody-goody maleShep may beg to differ. In this case its entirely subjective, but between the maleShep I've played and the femSheps I've played, going the angry route in that conversation is a femShep thing.
;)

There are so many of 'em... But I have to say that Zaeed's loyalty mission has quite a few iconic (paragon) moments. Do it right or don't do it at all.

Funny how he says they had to make a choice (which is not true, btw, because they are very happy to include Aislinn Trista's videos in their Facebook), but doesn't bother explaining why they chose the man, when supposedly both are equally "high quality". Well DUH, we won't choose the woman! We need an iconic face, the face of the brand, not some woman!!

Yeah that bugs me a bit. :\\ Considering for me MaleShep is just standard spaceguy #65214 and FemShep gets to join the likes of Ripley and Janeway as awesome spacelady, I'd much rather have them sell the series with a strong female character. I'll admit I don't watch the trailers because whenever I do I just end up thinking "Ugh, this'll be much better once Jen Hale voices these lines..."

EDIT: As for my iconic FemShep line I'd honestly have to say it's the Monty Python reference in Thane's recruitment mission. Just the way Jen Hale nails the "I got better..." line absolutely makes me go "I love you Shepard!"

Regarding this... there's no more free space, isn't it? Bit late to the party, but didn't set up ME2 PC till yesterday and didn't know if i could pull off a good recreation.

For Lili, there's a ton. Some that come to mind are; the paragon speech in LotSB, the suicide mission speeches, Tali's LM speech, Garrus' LM.
