On the subject of tears... Perhaps worth reposting:

I see Shepard in general as a lonely figure; a while back I finally came up with the "one word to describe" for Rhea: Apart.

Frak! I have to nearly completely redo my Artemis (infiltrator) playthrough. I accidentally went too far with Kelly, simply because I wanted her to feed my fish. I guess I flirted too hard at the beginning and got her onto the romance path rather than the friendship path, thus resulting in the "Hi honey" email (*cringe*) and the strip-tease offer.

DO. NOT. WANT.

Nothing against Kelly, but Artemis doesn't want romance/sex from her. Also, more practically, it is my understanding that the romance is kept in your save file even though it doesn't cancel out your ME1 romance (like the "real" ME2 romances do), and I don't want to have to deal with an angry, powerful Asari in ME3. ;)

So, back to (near) the beginning with Artemis.

On a lighter note, I think she's been spending too much time hanging around with Mordin...

Exactly.  I find Shepard to be imprisioned by her role as the commander.  Watching Liara leave Normandy after LotSB, and the ending of Hackett's debriefing with Arrival all kind of point me in that direction.

Renée, my infiltrator, has long felt that way.  In my headcannon, she first drank from that bitter cup on Elysium, and hated it then.

As for tears, well, on both Normandies, there's been quite a few locked door sessions of tears to me for Renée.

Dude!  Is that an actual conversation you can have?  If so, I might actually start talking to Jacob in my next playthrough!

Well that's propably the only time she doesn't sound overly flirty. It's the last conversation with him if you haven't pursued a romance, if I'm correct.

To be fair, a lot of people might miss it, because you have to wade through a virtual minefield of romance talk to get to it. I'm pretty sure you can clinch this if you take the "Let me know if I'm going too far" option in the previous conversation, but up to that point almost everything sounds overly flirty.

It took me a good while to realize this excellent conversation even existed, but now that I know about it, it's one of my favorite in the game. B)

I love this convo, though I nowadays chose a different option since we got a lounge now with Kasumi DLC :P

it really sucks that Hale sounds like she's about to jump him when talking, Jacob IMO has the absolute best frienship path in ME2

edited to add - I never found his convo options to be a romantic minefield... I did find him to be a bit touchy.. on my first playthrough I managed to annoy him, so instead of brofist, I kept getting "I'm not big on forcing those talks " :(

The worst(?) part is that there's a perfectly good, non flirty line.  That is never used except apparently when the conversation glitches.  <_<

Well, next time I'll just have to bear down and give it a go, 'cause I always liked the idea of Jacob as femShep's bromance.

I find it safer to blame her director. She may not have had any context when she did that line. Her director may have just said, "ok we need you to sound flirty with Jacob for this line", and thus we got her "I'm more interested in (not) talking for a bit (so won't you just do me now)".

This is speculation, but considering how good so many of the rest of her deliveries are, I wouldn't be surprised by this.

[edits - grammar, spelling; sure I probably missed a few]

*enters thread* oh how I'v emissed the safe confines of the femshep thread.

@IC I know, but that's what ruined Jacob for tons of peple and it has nothing to do with them. It's also the reason why I prursued his romance to see what the fuss was about and I loved it. He says the best three word phrase ever. No one else does, only Jacob. I envy Kallen in Aislinns vid. lol

God, your Shepard is hot.

Anyways, does Liara say anything about Samara in LoTSB? She makes fun of all of your LI interests once you kill Vasir, but I never romanced Samara while I was romancing Liara...

You can't romance Samara.

I'm considering this possibility for one of my future femSheps, either Anaideia or Soteira (whose names indicate their "paragon / renegade"ness and their probable background stories). Figure she'll forego any romance in ME1 and come to like Jacob in ME2.

I've never done it before, but a lot of those lines from Jacob in Aislinn's video sounded really good.

It's probably mainly the hair, but she also has a small, rather thin face.

I need to figure out how to tweak brow depth in Gibbed, though. I've decided that the clipping of that one bang really bothers me. But, I'd rather not have to go all the way back to the beginning of ME1 and start over to fix it.
;)

(come on; does my lame Gilbert&Sullivan spoof do nothing for you people? Oh, sure, scientist Salarians and Modern Major Generals are just fine and dandy, but modern starship commander is no good, eh?)

Hey guys, I bought both games last month. Played an re-played using M!Shep 8 times (an extra two because I got to level 59  and then missed an assignment in the next one <_<).

I just started playing F!Shep last week (albeit a bit slower, already too familiar with this game) and I gotta say Hale's voice is amazing! I loved Meer's voice too, it fit my Shep's face and sounded good but it was a little... monotone, at times when he could have been a little more emotional. But Hale... I haven't played ME2 with F!Shep yet, but I did watch a video where you recruit Archangel without recruiting Garrus in ME1.

"Hwhat are you doing here?"

Freakin' awesome voice acting on that line! Wish I could post the video, but can't find it :(

Glad your enjoying it so far antivenger :)

Like you my first playthrough on Mass Effect was male shepard (you clearly done a few more), but decided to do female next and was blown away by Jen Hale's VA.  From there everying fell into place. I become more invested in the game and Shepard's character and just cant play male again.  Like you say its too stoic and emotionless at times. Plus there are dozens of other great qualities of femshep which make so alluring and appealing to play!

I'm very, very late to the party, but since I have rambled on the 'suggested improvements for femshep in me3' thread, I felt compelled to visit! :)

I remember waiting patiently for the first Mass Effect release and spending a good hour just creating my first Shepard... good times :). Since then I've played a good number of femshep variants, but my favorite (both moralty, appearance and class-wise) has always been that first fem!shep...

Image IPB

She's an adept who leaned heavily towards the paragon path during the first game, but have adapted a more morally grey outlook at things throughout the second. A renegon, I suppose. :P

I haven't been playing Mass Effect past couple of months due to Dragon Age taking a good chunk of my free time, but I'm about to give Elian another run through ME2. Maybe try a more heavyhanded renegade approach this time around!

P.S. Love all the screenshots! I think I need to take more myself :)
