Introducing Leila Shepard...




She's based on an Afghan politician that I saw on the BBC news, and is therefore intended to have an Arabian sort of vibe. Leila is a soldier, will very likely romance Liara, and is probably a paragade - basically a good person, but far more pragmatic than my adept Aki and not overly worried about intimidating people if she feels the situation calls for it. I'm not entirely decided about her background - she seems to be trying to tell me she should be an Earthborn/War Hero, but being as I already have a Colonist/War Hero and an Earthborn/Ruthless, I'm feeling I've left Spacer and Sole Survivor out. We'll see if she can convince me

A question: When you're considering the characters of your Shepards, do you find that you're planning them out exactly so, or do your femsheps occasionally surprise you by turning out with quirks or personality traits that you didn't originally envisage for them, or not fitting in with what you thought they were like? I'm interested to hear other people's experiences!

I have been dying to make one of these for Caroline, but finding a good base image that would fit the screen shot I chose, her charactor AND do her justice was a real challenge!

@Lianna: Leila is pretty, and I love that name especially when it's pronounced "leela".

As to your question, I'm rather technical when playing my characters so it's either shining knight or bane of life with little inbetween. I tend to focus on numeric things like character level and morality meter, and how good my equipment is. I put thought into the creation of my characters, basing them on friends or family or creating backgrounds, but typically I don't take it much further than that once I'm playing the game.

Akodo. I love your drawing style. I've seen your other work and they're all excellent. I'm a little bit jelous to be honest. I wish I could draw.

Which reminds me. I should get started on my femshep project now that the Easter weekend is over.

She looks great ! CC is not friendly with other ethnicities, so you won't get much than "sort of vibe". You did a good job.

I don't plan all about my Shepards  when I create them. They just get fleshed out as they go through ME1.   That means sometimes I make them do or say things that, in retrospect, don't make much sense.

With E3 fast approaching we all know that Mass Effect 3 will be there in all its glory, and we can bet BioWare is going to have a killer video trailer for its highly anticipated game. We know the trailer will be awesome, but it will undoubtedly be sans femShep. That’s just the way things are and there’s really not much we can do about it … or is there? femshep.com is proud to present, “The Story so Far,” a femshep video trailer contest.
The theme is simple; tell the story of YOUR female Commander Shepard from the beginning of Mass Effect 1 up to the end of Mass Effect 2. We know there are a lot of video masters out there who have done exceptional work telling stories with their femsheps through the use of video and we hope you will join us in this endeavor. Whether it is a simple recap of events or a stunning lead in to Mass Effect 3, we want you to give femshep the trailer she deserves.
As this is a contest, there will be prizes and rules, so please pay close attention.
PRIZES
First place prize is a $50.00 gift certificate to the BioWare store.
Second place prize is a $25.00 gift certificate to the BioWare store.
RULES
You MUST be a member of femshep.com to enter.
Your video MUST focus on female Commander Shepard. Sorry, no broSheps.
Your video CANNOT be longer than 7 minutes. (To keep things on an even keel, we have a set time limit.)

Sounds awesome! The vid I'm about to finish is too long though   And school gets out mid-June so I probably won't have time to make another. But I look forward to seeing the entries!

I do have an idea for a video, but finding the time to capture all the footage and then learn how to actually edit the thing together might be a tough act to pull off in just over a month. Might give it a go though.

Good question.

It's a bit of both.  I wanted to start off with an Infiltator and a designated Hero, so Renée ended up in that vein.  She has a couple of near sisters on my 360 I haven't shown.  Some parts developed organically in play, though.

Nimue was going to be a far different person- Earth Born/Sole Survivor, and a bit more bitter.  She was mostly paragon in ME, but the interreupts in ME2 made her far more renegade in the second.
