THIS.

My hubby has his eye on several shooters that he wants me to join him on, too, so I should be busy until Marchish.

Oh, and did I mention that the pic of KAidan is like total gravy for me? It is. Seriously, after all the whining we Kaidan-gals have been doing, to see him up there with sheploo and liara just does my little gamer heart proud. now if we could just see some femshep in the promo materials, and i'd be the most happy ever to hear a game got delayed.

*cough*Battlefield3*cough*

I couldn't agree more about the Kaidan pic.  I'm honestly surprised and more than a little excited that he's getting some promo attention.  Seeing the new pics made my heart race a bit.  I'm super excited and relieved they seem to be taking their time making sure it lives up to everyone's expectations.  I have so much faith in the Mass Effect team right now from everything we've been seeing and hearing.

The only thing that could possibly make me happier right now is some FemShep love at some point during the push up to ME3.  I've seen the comment,"I didn't think I could customize a female character so I didn't play Mass Effect until I found out you could by [insert scenario here]" too many times.  Or, "I saw Sheploo and just thought it was a generic shooter."  CulturalGeekGirl is not an isolated case of someone coming to the franchise late because they never knew FemShep even existed.

Good job I did release the suggestions thread when I did, I almost waited: http://social.biowar...5/index/7187121

With the now confirmed delay and probable stagnation of new info till E3 I doubt we will see an ME3 sub-forum until after the event.

Lets hope they read the thread and thought, "Damn we better do all that!! Lets push back the game 4 months!!"  B)

Oh yeah and now I can play Skyrim with peace of mind!! :D

That's probably the main reason they're holding off for an additional three months.  Because quite frankly, even though I never have played an Elder Scrolls game, I can admit that Skyrim would slaughter ME3.

As someone who has been in the industry, when I see a delay my first thought is "Oh good, more devtime!" or "This proves that the devs are still running the show."

Also, this gives them some more time to do marketing stuff /cough cough targeted Femshep ad? /cough

I dunno about slaughter...well, mebbe. Have never played an elder scrolls game either. but my hubby took down the pic of me and put up a skyrim wallpaper on his laptop.

so i'm guessing that means...something. lol

Too be honest you know how much of an ME fan I am. Even im torn between it and Skyrim. Honestly ME3 can now look for Game of the Year 2012. It wouldn't get it up against Skyrim for 2011, not a chance.

Plus with this added time we can wave the femshep banner a bit more. The more support the better. I wonder when Jen Hale goes to the recording studio? That must be around now right?

Someone must be really anxiously waiting the game! I'm a huge fan of the series and I will definitely get Skyrim. I think that this might have something to do with SWTOR. It would be really bad idea to release it and ME3 at the same time (it looks like they're not going to release it before autumn).

Good point. I think Bioware noticed that too. There are just so many great games this year.

I would imagine summer - but I'm basing that off of something about Mark Meer saying he spent the whole summer before ME2 release in Bioware's studio. Something about how ME1 took him about a month or so to do the dialog for and ME2 took almost the entire summer.

Well good that they take their time with the game. Or some time atleast. I'd hate if they just rushed it out as soon as possible. Then again, I'm not good with waiting. I hate waiting, in all forms and any context. Oh well, now I can degrade into a mindless husk constantly playing 10 hour marathons of X: Rebirth. *_*

And to add some femshep in dem post.

I'm trying to build a new Shepard but everything I do looks so generic, so forgettable. I think it is because I don't really have a clear idea about what do I want. What do you guys do to make cool Sheps?

If this happened, I'd die happy Sage! :P

But seeing Kaidan in that picture makes me so happy...he's..he's...*swoon*

Its tough, dont expect an easy job.  It never really is.  Amelia was a result partly from noticing what this thread was missing.  That of an ethnic looking femshep with a darker skin tone.  She came out with this latin vibe for ME.  Not sure if it stayed in ME2.  Although comparing her to Miri's pale skin in the second pic maybe not, still I dont think the textures in the second game flatter as much. She looked alot more distinct I always felt in ME1.  Anyway she took about a 6 hours of creation initially  and a 3/4 hour test play while I figured out what I would like to change. Not a lot really. Just tweaks to eye depth/cheek gaunt ect.

I would say get a focus on what isnt widely used. Make her unique and original.  Its hard with the limited choices but theres always a way.  Maybe an Oriental Styled femshep?  They are certainly few and far between.  Getting that right really would be a challenge, but I imagine quite rewarding

It's a trial and error process really. In my mind, Jennifer was always a very professional commander. Not till the extent of being a by the book Alliance recruit, but more like the person who gets the job done with maximum efficiency and minimal losses. First thing was choosing her background, I chose the spacer background, because it fit. Being from a military family meant she was rasied to be disciplined, and Jennifer is nothing if she isn't disciplined. I used to play her with her hair down, the "Dr. Chakwas hair-do" and she was an infiltrator. Then I decided to try my hand at biotics and I loved it, and it went well with her story because it would add a bit of explanation why she's so controlled and never has outbursts of anger (she was a pure paragon in ME1)

As for her looks, I just went with what I liked, my goal was to make someone who was attractive, but without affecting the badass commander persona. So I went with the hair bun, if you imagine her with her hair down (I photoshopped her with long hair before) she's quite beautiful, but with her hair up in a bun, she's a marine.

Basically, think of what kind of character you want to make, and go from there. I had to tweak and retweak Jennifer 4 times, during three playthroughs to get her to where she is now. Usually, the first is like a rough draft with the basics (lip shape/size, eye shape, color, makeup, hair...etc.) and the rest is just fixing bone structre and cheek gaunt and stuff the CC sucks at showing.

Hope that helped :)

Here some Jennifer for reference, and because..well...why not? :o

It's the hair. It sits a lot lower on the forehead in ME2.

Regarding the ME3 Screenshots: I like they're bringing back Old Friends in the form of Kaidan and Liara for this. I still would like a FemShep screenshot or two. It would be a nod in our direction.

And the delay to 1Q2012? Not a problem. I'd rather they made a better game, than released a buggy one.

When creating a new Shepard, I would first focus on one specific part: hair, eyes, skin color, nose......Once you pick the one you really like, then the rest will come in piece by piece. As I experienced, the faces from ME1 will look a little different when importing to ME2, the way to prevent this is to make your femshep from the CC in ME2, then use the face converter to get the code of ME1.
