I've never succeeded after the first one that took 20 minutes.

If nothing else, your first (?) one turned out awesome :P

I always find it takes both a long time to make good characters and usually a few revisions. I tend to draw on a large array of sources, from real people to drawings and even other video game characters I've made. There's no real magic bullet it takes a lot of work, time and thought to get something good that just leaps off the screen. Though as general advice I say focus on the eye area and make sure you balance your proportions and features. My 2nd Shepard Colleen took about a month or two to get out of the CC screen / ME2 Intro section. She turned out just fine in the end though.

Oh and it helps to start them in ME2 since the code can be invaluable for having a running edit and making sure your character looks the same in both games.

I'm not concerned; if my email is like those in ME2, I won't ever have to worry about meeting her because she'll never be able to find me even if she does bother to look.

But seeing Kaidan in that picture makes me so happy...he's..he's...*swoon*

I think what I like best is that he still has that 'understated badass' vibe that I love so much. He's just like, "I got your back."

Man, after wondering if he'd been entirely forgotten after ME2 was made, I'm so happy to see him. So happy that I can ignore Sheploo. After all, Kaidan+Liara+Adept femshep is the best thing ever.

In FACT...

In ignoring Sheploo, I decided to try making a "fix" to the screenshot. This is my first real attempt at photoshopping. Mucho thanks to my hubby who coached me through the use of gimp.

She's GORGEOUS! Easily one of the best FemSheps I've seen to date. Good job on her!

I think you pretty much answered your question. It's important to have even just a general idea of what you want your Shep to look like: Is she super gorgeous? Are her features soft or more on the edgy side? She doesn't have to look perfect if she's not meant to be. There's a charm to imperfections, too; makes it feel more realistic.

Also, I think it helps to have "key features" on your Shep. Like with mine, for example, I wanted her to have more prominent cheekbones and a stronger jawline. I built the remaining features around that.

Hope it helps! :wizard:

Why do you say FemShep is an easter egg?

Why do you say FemShep is an easter egg?

For several reasons.  Listed Here

Written and Stated by Jaime :)

"...So, what’s with the tagline?  “femshep – the best “easter egg” in gaming.”  Credit where credit is due.  I actually saw that line in a Google search, “Why femshep is the best easter egg in gaming,” but I never found the actual article from where that was taken. That got me to thinking that whoever wrote that was probably right. I didn’t come into the ME experience until late 2009 because I wasn’t in the know and the boxart and a couple of ads were all I had to go by.  Still, I was curious and eventually cracked.  When I first started playing the game, I was awestruck. It was so big, so open and the whole feel was just epic space opera with a little bit of genuine science fiction sprinkled in for good measure.  But the guy in the ads just never clicked with me. For whatever reason, I was not relating with Commander Shepard.  So, I made a female Shepard and bam, it all clicked into place.  This is how you’re supposed to play this game. Jennifer Hale’s delivery was visceral and passionate.  She’s not the most consistent in her delivery, but overall, she made the experience even better, and it was damn good to start.  Now, that’s just my own personal tastes.  There is never a right way or wrong way to play a game.  Still, it was a shame that “femShep” as she grew to be know, was left out of the ads, trailers and such.  Had I known, I probably would have bought the game much earlier, even came into the community earlier. While BioWare doesn’t hide femshep as one would a traditional “easter egg,” she is kind of hard to find if you don’t exactly know where to look.  I understand why BioWare chose not to promote her, they had their posterboy after all, and I’m certain the number of potential gamers lost was negligible if any, but we’ll never know... "

*cough*Battlefield3*cough*

I couldn't agree more about the Kaidan pic.  I'm honestly surprised and more than a little excited that he's getting some promo attention.  Seeing the new pics made my heart race a bit.  I'm super excited and relieved they seem to be taking their time making sure it lives up to everyone's expectations.  I have so much faith in the Mass Effect team right now from everything we've been seeing and hearing.

The only thing that could possibly make me happier right now is some FemShep love at some point during the push up to ME3.  I've seen the comment,"I didn't think I could customize a female character so I didn't play Mass Effect until I found out you could by [insert scenario here]" too many times.  Or, "I saw Sheploo and just thought it was a generic shooter."  CulturalGeekGirl is not an isolated case of someone coming to the franchise late because they never knew FemShep even existed.

Maybe we should start up a femShep clan if enough PC folk decide to get BF3?

As for the femShep comment, we've seen it all to often, but with the recent investor comments from John Ricitiello and Frank Gibeau about "broadening the massmarket appeal" of ME3 even beyond ME2, I don't see it happening. To those people "massmarket" means blind-buys from the teenage jocks who (asides from spending their youth bullying kids smarter than themselves) are a guaranteed year-by-year sale once you get them hooked and then proceed to steadily push out the fans that helped build a franchise. Just look at what happened to Call of Duty.
