Gotta tell ya, Noah doesn't appear often enough around here I believe she's a very personal look at Shepard. You know how there are painters who may do good-enough-looking work but in a generic way, and then there are painters who attract crowds because they've got a style you can recognize instantly? I think that's kinda what happens with Noah, too.

@sagequeen version control is Heaven. You won't want to work any other way. Never heard of Mercurial before though, we all use SVN around here. Is it common over there?

i use svn for my writing. haven't used the other yet, so i don't know.  and since that's OT:

@Harpalyce - love the attack pancake.

I played though several games with no LI. I also romanced Liara and Ashley with a mod. But when I consider the back story for my Shepards, I think it is more likely she would not be dalleying with her crew. I think when she is on mission, she is ON mission. Also, I think it is likely she has trouble keeping a girfriend. Recent events with US SEALS had me thinking about this. I think N7 must be sent out with some regularity on dangerous assignments. It seems that would take a heavy toll on a relationship.

did I hear right ? they are going with long hair in ME3 becouse the hair is able to move now and not look so plastic looking . i thought heard it in game informer. if it true Isoke my femshep will have long hair

There are two ultimately trivial, cosmetic things that would make me SO happy if they added to ME3.  The first is the moveable hair that you mentioned, and the second would be allowing long-haired Sheps to change their hairstyle (I don't always want it down, you know?)

Granted there are other things that I'm hoping for which are a little more substantial, but it never hurts to ask, right?

If anyone is interested in texmods, I uploaded a retex for Onyx (N7) armor that changes it to good old Predator H.

Now, I know that Predator H is in the game already, but I didn't liked the low res textures for all diffuse/bump/spec-maps or those weird yellow blinking lights, so there you go, textures extracted from ME1 armor. Link to my texmods can be found in my signature.

Wow, that's really terrible.  To be honest, I got lucky sometimes with Sony Vegas and it's autosave feature.  I couldn't imagine losing that much work... much hugs and love for you.  I hope whatever you create to replace it is just that much more fantastic.

Slightly off topic but I have to ask. What method do you use to cut characters out of screenshots? You always get these really nice clean edges. I've tried a few different methods, but they never look as good as what you produce.

On topic: Running around with other people's Shepards, getting screeshots for these wallpapers is making me want to make a new one for myself. I think I need help.

@Akari: I use Photoshop and Pen Tool. You have some control over paths, regulate curves and so on. Then I transform paths to selection.

Making more wallpapers is like a training, so I say go for it.

Alright! Thanks to Pordis Shepard's directions I managed to get a few good screenshots of my femshep. Had to use the save converter but oh well.

Here she is, Alyx Shepard (of distant relation to one Alyx Vance, my favorite female video game character):







I was going for a hawk-ish, predatory look. This woman kills for a living, I wanted her to look like she did while still being attractive.

Her eyes are bright green because they are the most piercing color allowed by Bioware's character creator. I like how her cheeks accentuate her eyes but that was completely unintentional.

EDIT: Hope it works this time.

That looks GREAT! I wish Ashley were still on my team so I could have her wear it (I kept my Alliance crewmates outfitted in Mantis / Predator L/M/H in ME1).

You can use Pen tool or lasso tool and then refine edge (which for me it's sometimes better than pen tool) try this tut http://psd.tutsplus....on-techniques/

I never even thought to use the Pen Tool. I've used the erasor tool both with a bursh and the block, layer masks, the magnetic lasso and the extract filter. Feel a bit stupid now, as I've used the pen tool for smaller things, but never thought to use it to cut out a character.

I used the pen tool to make my selections on the Calibrations picture, and the few other photoshops I've done. ELE does the same, it was here advice that led me to do so. =-)
