I like playing fem shep because customization options on her are better. With male shep he only seems to look good as Sheploo with black N7 armor (well only looks good to me anyways). With Fem Shep I can play around with different looks and I even use different shades of camo for each mission, based on its location.

Add to that I almost always play Mass Effect as an infiltrator, and it seems to fit femshep better. To Sheploo's credit though, whenever I do the occasional Soldier playthrough he is my go-to guy.

Click here to see my femshep showing the Volus who is the boss.

Holly would unwind after a hard day by taking a nice hot shower, changing into something uncomfortable, curling up with a good book (errr, datapad?) and drinking her favorite tea. I picture she'd be listening to something mellow, like classical or ambient music.

Perhaps a call to Thane on the intercom.

At the risk of sounding like an arse, I thought I'd throw in my two-penneth over the 'FemShep Body' debate.  As far as I can see, she looks like she could do with a wee bit more muscle on the arms, but that's it.  Granted, I don't know many soldiers who wear armour like her's, but most female soldiers I do know have a build similar to FemShep's.  I think it's hurt by the fact that her arms just look spindly in the uniform, not that they are weak and thin.

But that's just my thoughts, and there are many pictures on yon internet to show what I mean.  Granted, she's frontline combat, but you don't have to be ripped to do that, just fit. I've included links to a couple of examples.

And in other news, I'm at Level 58 in the Katie Shepard canon runthrough... Only another million XP until I reach level 60... ;)

Tim

P.S. A couple of the links are to vids too, so don't be surprised if you start hearing things.  Also, some of the images are quite large, hence links not embedded.

Good links there Tim, proof as you say you only need to be fit and not built like a bodybuilder to serve in the armed forces.   As you say maybe a wee bit more on the arms for her but not too much.   There have been a few threads where people post to their favourite female models in some tv program or magazine.  The woman in your links are real armed fighters and are actually are out there right now doing it.   If Bioware changes femsheps frame I hope it based more on what you posted there.

Level 58 huh. Good work. Yes you still need to do virtually a full playthrough to get to 60 still :P

Well, after horrible computer melt down, having to build a new one etc, I now have to play through -both- games again, with male and female chars... ugh... don't know if I'll have it in me... Might just have to redo Mara, Cathryne, and Gwen...

ugh ugh. Good to be back though. Don't know if I'll be able to read all the catch up pages though.

I reached lvl 57 in the first playthrough, currently at lvl 59 after Therum and Noveria nearly finished (haven't done Citadel quest yet but I did do the BDtS DLC).

I know it won't really be your characters but you could nab some save files other people have uploaded. Or edit a saved game to have your desired choices and just play through ME2 again.

I'm sorry you lost your files though.  I would be thoroughly gutted if that happened to me.

I feel your pain!  My laptop got stolen a few months ago, along with my ME1 runthroughs and my ME2 runthroughs (finished and all DLC up to LotSB) for my 2 ManSheps and my 3 FemSheps (as well as 25hrs of DAO that I'd just started).  So, I started from scratch with my canon FemShep (Katie), and after just starting Noveria (done Feros), along with several side quests, I'm at Level 58 (approx. 44hrs of play so far).
I'm debating whether to do a seperate ME1 runthrough for each of them, or just take Katie's save game and mod it accordingly, as I realised that my Sheps did things in pretty much similar ways (sacrificed their human LI on Virmire, saved the Rachni, etc).

And @ Crash: I'm hoping for that too mate.  Not massively buff, but definitely a wee bit more arm strength.  We can but hope!

Good examples there.
But I don't think BW needs to think too much about this. They already did a good job on Aveline from DA2 (you can see how she's built at the begining of the game)

"Ah, yes... legit level 60 in ME1"

Only did that once.... All the collectables, killing everything on foot.... geez
Now I cheat. I'm not ashamed.

Never nice losing save files, or any files of work that you've spent hours on. :(

I'd hate to lose my save files, which is why I've emailed them to myself. There not that big either, only 50kb or so for a ME2 save file for example. Like Centauri said though, you can always grab a save file off the net, or create your own through gibbed and just run them through ME2.

As for going for level 60 in ME1, I've done it once. It took me 3 playthroughs I think, as I just couldn't be bothered with the collection quests. Never done it with any characters since as the pay off for importing a level 60 character isn't worth the effot in my opinion. I just do one playthrough, which usually gets a character to around level 54 and then it's on to ME2.

To pop in here -
I'd love to see FemShep a bit more thunder-thighs/hip-ful, but that's my personal thing. I'll be happy with a bit more muscle in her arms.

Now I am suddenly paranoid about saving all my save files. 0_0

I'm pretty happy with femShep body build. Arms looked a bit weird from certain angels. I personally don't know why people seem to always assume that soldiers are body builders. When I was in army (which turned out to be rather brief trip - I'm not complaining, lucky me :D) higher ranking soldiers i.e. those who actually work there had normal body builds. Of course the situation was quite a bit different for us than those who do peacekeeping operations for example but still. But then again, basic training can be rather hard. But you definitely won't end up with huge muscles.

Also, I bet that mechs would do the heavy stuff anyway.

Aye, it makes sense that Shep wouldn't be overly muscled. But her arms did look a tad spindly when she was out of her armour. >.>

ETA: F1r3storm, I like the cover art for your fanfic. It's a great idea. I've been trying to come up with one for mine. No ideas yet though. D:
