Everything Sounds promising so far.   To me it sounds like they want to do some marketing for femshep but they are unsure if to put a budget into it their end (after all its rather expensive to do).   By offering the competition option it allows the fans to market her by themselves with a lot let fiscal effort and expense.

They know how well the community here can create things so they know there will be a lot of interest and high quality content if they release sequences.  It gives the fans an active role and keeps interest going.  From a marketing perspective I think its a damn good idea.

Still I would prefer a CGI trailer B)

Yeah, well I hope they do at least something. I'd hate it if I mate Twitter account for nothing. Räyh!

EDIT:
Jaahas... Top again it seems.

Indeed... I wonder if it's sad or what. First time ever I made something like that; even though I hate Twitter and the likes. ^_^

Yeah I created twitter for femshep too!!  hehe.

Yes she's that important I was willing to set up an account on something I said I never would do! lol  :D

Anyway Silent got a reply saying we would choose the winner out of a community creation.  So yes, sounds like they want us to do the marketing ourselves but they will acknowledge everything.

I must say this is a massive step forward to what I was expecting, even if Bioware dont do CGI this will be really good fun!  Plus its great to get some recognition for everything :) B)

I would much rather see trailers.  CGI looks cool and all, but it's hardly a representation of the game.  I want game footage.

My guess is they will give us footage of various small scenes (or maybe one larger one)  and want us to do something like the gameplay footage trailer at ME2 E3 release

Yeah if the community trailers are along the lines of that then who needs CGI  B)

(ok yes I know theres some CGI in there, but a lot of it is in game) :P

I'm not satisfied with the idea of a player-made trailer. The point is that BioWare should man up (woman up, I guess) and officially use femShep in their marketing. Turning this into a one-off sideshow with fans doing all the work doesn't help with that.

I see your point. But this is a big step from nothing and Bioware not recognising femshep at all.

Voting for the femshep trailer was my first twitter post and most likely my last.  Posted Image

Of unless of course there's more femshep stuff to respond too in the future.

I hope they give us some new Jen Hale lines to work with as well as ME3 gameplay footage. That would be pretty awesome and make the fans having to do all the work, worth it.

I don't see how you all make such nice looking femsheps.

Mine never turn out well, or they don't look much different from default.

I guess I'll figure it out eventually. If I ever get a femshep to look decent, she'll be a blazing redhead, pale complexion. Redheads are special you know. If mankind's champion in its darkest hour ever turns out to be a woman, she'll be a redhead.

The problem is that most of the femsheps end up looking like relatives to each other, due to the fact that they all have  a similar bone structure. I FINALLY managed to make a femshep that is so good looking and well designed, that I am quite shocked.

Male Shepard is different though. I've made half a dozen really excellent  mShepards so far.

Ultimately it just takes A LOT of time. We're talking about twenty minutes to an hour. Just put in the time, tweak as much as possible, iron out details you don't like, and do it again. Believe me though, it is worth it. I've never been happier with my two ME3 carry-overs.

I need to figure it out, though.  I normally almost never play female characters in RPGs, and I prefer a manly Shepard.  However, with the knowledge that the VS plays prominently in ME3, I need both my maleshep and a femshep so I can see both sides of the VS romance in ME3.

Yeah, I'm a content wh***.

Edit:

The reason I don't play female characters in RPGs is because I'm not one, and I don't really feel that I can connect with a character with such a different viewpoint.  JMO.

I like default Jane Shepard precisely because she looks a bit bland. It's a nice change of pace from game heroines that are meant to look super sexy.

You have a point here.  Fantasy RPGs with super models wearing heals and steel plate mail bikinis just don't make sense.  My number one priority for my maleshep and my soon to be femshep playthrough isn't that they necessarily look good, but that they look like a soldier.  I go with default Sheploo for my malesheps since I think he's very credible looking as a soldier.  Default femshep is too, but with femshep, I just can't seem to leave well enough alone.

I don't think I can spam enough love hearts to show just how happy I am that BioWare is finally willing to give FemShep her own trailer. If it is a full CGI one, I think I might completely explode with happiness.

Simone, is it?  She wouldn't be modeled after Simone Simons would she?

They share some resemblance and a name, after all.

Good to know I'm not the only one who models hsi femsheps after singers.  I  got one named Sharon from Within Temptation, a Maria named for the singer of Holyhell and one named Cristina from Lacuna Coil.

ROCK  ON!!!   m/

My primary femshep is named Alexandria for Alexander the Great (and I just think it's a strong yet feminine name for a female thus perfect for a femshep).  I'm a history buff as well as a metalhead after all!

Cristina Scabbia's visage would make for an outstanding renegade, cold, harsh, and occasionally ****y femshep, IMO.

Yet another reason we need a black emporium of some sort for ME3 instead of having to run the intro over and over for each adjustment.

With my Shepard, Liz I did 14 attempts till I got her to where I was happy with her. I'd run the intro, create the character noting the facecode and then export the headmorph so I could import it into various saved games to see how it looked.
I pretty much had the intro running in the background on my PC for an entire weekend when I did this.

I did pretty much the same thing when I was redesigning Alice, except that I had taken out the majority of the intro videos, so I just had to run up and grab Joker then I'd be in the CC.  Still took the better part of four evenings to get her right, though!  Didn't try exporting the headmorph into different saves, though.  I just made due with what I could see on the Lazarus station.
