I think Ryn mentioned this sometime back, but all this talk of a default femShep got me to thinking. I'm almost hesitant to take UJ through ME3 first, but I know I will. When I'm done w/ her, it will be over. Sure, I have other Sheps for replay value and there will be story DLC, but after that initial playthrough, it will be done. Wow, the bittersweet glory that will be ME3. Part of me thinks that now, right now, is the best part.

God, yeah. After the credits roll I don't know how I'm going to feel. Kind of like coming to the end of a good book series.

I have to take Myddine through ME3 first though, because that's the only way to get the 'real' story for me, playing without foreknowledge.

I think actually playing ME3 will be the best part though :P And the orgy of fanfic and screenshots and videos that will follow...that's going to be pretty good too.

I love it! Very beautiful! :)

I really wish to see Mikaela in ME3. But only after Jane.

yes and yes. from my actual me1 playthrough with kyrie, i wish i could change that i got the confrontation w/ kaidan and liara. that was a total accident that i did not put in the fanfic, because kyrie would never in a million years lead liara on. that's just not her way at all. also, i think i would have picked a few more renegade lines at the start (the "you're soldiers, act like it" actually is a lot like her at the outset, before she gets to know the crew a little) so yeah.

for decisions though, i really had no idea about the rachni, the batarians in BDtS, Elnora, the long-winded KRogan on tuchanka, ESPECIALLY not the heretic geth, and I was wondering about keeping the collector base. truly, until i got there with 'canon' kyrie, i wasn't sure. when it hit each of those points, however, the path became crystal clear and i just RPed them the way i thought they would go. now that i've finished my canon run, it really seems to suit. i do need to re-do arrival, though. i don't like the dialog options i took at the end of it. now that i've tried them all, i know the mix of paragon, neutral and renegade lines i want to take.

I don't know, but would anyone play as her if they made one?

I would.

me too, IF they have the comic thing. i don't think i could do a full ME1 to ME2 to ME3 run for anyone but kyrie at this point. if they had a nice femloo and she could romance ashley, i'd play as her. ashley is the only character i'd really bother making a new femshep for at this point. but i don't think i could actually play through virmire and leave kaidan behind, so they'd need to give me a comic so i could skip that part.

If they make a new default Jane, I would more than likely run her through ME3, but no matter what, Hrist will always be Commander Shepard to me. She's far too awesome* and I've spent too much time creating a back story for her to throw her away for a new Bioware created FemShep.

Question for anyone who wants to answer, related to my above post:

Do any of your Shepards...well, um...dictate their personalities to you? Or do you decide who they're gonna be and go from there? I mean, my current FemShep, Rani, I wanted her to be complete renegade, but that's just not fitting her now. I keep getting Paragon vibes off of some of the decisions she should make, even though I planned her as renegade.

Have you ever had to replay a part of the game to fit your Shep's personality?

Yes. I tried to play Hrist as a full on paragon when I first created her personality and backstory, but it just didn't fit with who she was. A few situations where she picked the renegade response or used a renegade interupt fit with her much better and so she went from a Paragon to a Paragade.

On the other hand my more renegade Shepard, Lenneth, ended up being quite a bit nicer than I planned. She's still got an ice queen exterior and is not someone to mess with, but she softened up far more than I had expected come the end of her ME2 playthrough.

Aaaaaand some pics for good measure. :D

Posted Image
She might look a bit stern, but Hrist's really nice, honest.

Posted Image
This rather sinister grin on the other hand fits Lenneth perfectly.

Gahhh Drea...just after talking about Kaidan...stupid sexadorable paragons :crying:

Cats as femshep kryptonite though...not to Myddine. After you've seen a cats feasting on a dead hobo in an alleyway as a 12 year old, they're not quite as cute.

Late tot he party again, but I hear that we're going to get ourselves a femShep trailer.

Pardon me while I engage in some extremely undignified celebration.

Ahem.  Alright, all finished now.  Jessica Shepard's response is a bit more appropriate.

Drea is a fricking supermodel.  Your modding skills are beyond amazing, ELE, she even puts Miranda to shame.

Oddly, though, I have trouble actually identifying her as Commander Shepard.  It's almost like she's too beautiful.  It's hard to reconcile a supermodel with a marine.

Of course, there is zero chance that there could be a bit of jealousy that I didn't come up with someone that gorgeous.  Absolutely no chance of that at all.

Hmmm. I might say something similar about another very pretty femShep named Jessica...

Posted Image

:D

Edit - on pretty femsheps

It's a stereotype that beautiful women can't be tough; it's just unlikely; about as unlikely that anyone in RL is going to be that gorgeous; I've seen enough exceptions that I'm okay with it.  I won't go into how fair it is that very beautiful woman can also be extremely succesfull :P
I quite enjoy going against stereotypes...especially in a medium like videogames where you absolutely can and no one's going to argue.

Double Edit - does it help that Drea has Jedi powers and could probably kill you by thinking about it?

I may play reworked default Shep if she looks absolutely awesome but I think I'll probably end up using the character creator instead.  Depending on romances, I may make more Sheppies.

Shai and Kathryn are my favorites and will always be my favorites. <33  I may have been playing Kathryn longer but Shai is just as much canon as Kat is.

And then possibly a default femshep if I like the new model though odds are I’d use it as a starting point and change it somewhat if able.

Might be nothing. Might be something.

Any how I am VERY impressed with BW. Not only are they taking the mistakes from their past games into consideration, but they're also taking their triumphs. Squad banter will be a step up from DA2. RPG elements up from ME2. Story a step up from ME1. The fact that they are openly considering what we want for ME3 is huge. Few other developers are this vocally open, in my opinion.

Its nice that they are looking to implement all these things in ME3, 100k, but you do have to ask why they didn't do them for ME2.

I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth and am grateful for what we are getting but it does make me wonder why now when we'd been clamouring for a lot of this before ME2.

That's a very good point, to which I would say that the deciding factor is undoubtedly time. I'm sure that if BW had more time to work on ME2 it would've been not only better made (some levels in ME2 are really disappointing copy pastes -- like the Collector Base), but would've had extras overflowing from it.

In the end, all we can do is be ecstatic that ME3 is doing what ME2 should've done.
