I've seen that pic before on dA. here in fact.

As for Shepard being a copy or clone, I can't say I've thought too much about that. Though Sable's story for Jessica is certainly a very interesting take on the whole Lazarus Project. I still think Shepard is Shepard. It's still her original body, but with a few extra bits and pieces, as Jacob puts it.

I also think the killing of Shepard at the start of ME2 was just a lazy way of bringing up the character creator on Bioware's part, and there was no real thought behind it other than thinking it would be cool. Being in a coma would be cool, but coming back from the dead would be awesome, kind of thinking. But I guess we shall have to wait and see if it comes to anything in ME3.

I've thought the exact same thing about killing of Shepard at the start of ME2 was just lazy and it lacked a really good thought behind it. I will also wait and see if it comes to anything in ME3 :)

Question time:

Have you ever think of the life after ME3 assuming she survive with her LI?

And if so, what is the "ending" of her? Like laying on the bed with lots of grandchild around her?

Ha! I'm gonna be the black sheep here.

For Marion, politics. Liara will continue to be the Shadow Broker and Marion will continue to be the face of Humanity. Admiral stars and Council seats await her, but she'll wisely remain Commander Shepard- it's not like any politician can ignore her opinions on any issue. She's the female, 22nd century version of Julius Caesar- her victory will bring peace, equality, and elightment to the whole galaxy!

As for "ending", at the ripe old age of 366, feeling that she has accomplished all that she could with both her gun and her voice, she will lay herself to rest in cryogenic hibernation- to be awakened centuries later in unforseeable new adventures!

Or, she may pick up her old Widow, have it refurbished, and go on a last Thresher Maw hunting trip with her faithful Geth assistant Legion. She'll find peace in the midst of clouds of acid and smoke, doing the one thing she loved most all her life- killing big things with big guns!

In short, my FemShep has a classical case of adult ADHD- she doesn't rest and doesn't need to.

I loved this mission...but I think they should have given "Allison Gunn"  and nicer ride to Hock's party, something fitting to such a beautiful and exceadingly wealthy arms dealer.....perhaps a brand new 2185 Rolls-Royce Phantom XVI "Continental" Touring Limosine? .....one of just 19 made?     ;)

Basically a flying version of this:

Sadly, vehicle design has never been a strong point of the ME devs. The Mako looks unoriginal. And as much as I enjoy driving it, I must say the Hammerhead looks positively hideous.

As for civilian rides, I think a flying version of this might fit FemShep's swashbuckling personality better.

This. I would love to think that there was some sneaksy writing going on there - Well, I have my own take on it, but that's for a later fanfic. Anyhow, i, too, fear it was laziness.

I know a lot of people want the marry love interest and retire somewhere ending, but I can't imagine Shepard just retiring. It seems unrealistic for a person who has lived so much of their life in constant danger and turmoil to just stop. At a certain point I feel like shep would even DESIRE the constant struggle. It also wouldn't be feasible for Shep to switch careers because of her status as savior. It'd be soldier of some sort or nothing really (maybe politician, but I doubt Shep would want that). And since she'd be bored with nothing, I think she'd have to stay a soldier. I can entertain the idea of a less stressful position - an admiral calling the shots and not on the ground fighting as much - but she can't retire completely.  Plus, as savior she can pretty much take as much shore leave as she'd like cuz really, who is gonna tell her no? You don't fire the savior of the galaxy.

GMTA

Maybe politician, but I doubt Shep would want that.

I know my Shepard would want that.

She has had a giant calligraphy piece of "Supreme Excellence consists in breaking the enemy's resistance without fighting." in her quarters since she's an N7 cadet. She's born command material. Her most favored method of killing is not bullets, not Biotics, not Tech, but Words- like how she dealt with Saren.

So, as June became a more confident Spectre, trying out different classes, she changed her looks. Starting out as an Infiltrator, she added some pink makeup when she became a Hardcore Soldier, then dyed her hair blonde when she became an Insanity Engineer. Finally, on to ME2. :)

I think my Shep will take a well deserved break...for about a month. THEN right on back to the starships and maybe politics later on to beat some sense into people. She'll remain with Garrus (my other Shep is Joker's...if there is a romance), and settle into life as a prominent figure in the galaxy till her death. Cliche, but fitting I think.

I have forgotten to answer my own question....:pinched:

About my renegon Colly, her history is not yet written, may want to come up something more interesting as she fits in.

On the other hand about Velina, she will do something that no one has mentioned yet, something that she has in mind since the day she joined Alliance. For what it is, it will be cover in her fic, please be patience on that 'cause I write quite slow. ;) But I promise it will be a story you will remember, at least that is what I wanted to do.

@ FeriktheCerberus: I do believe Drea's facecode is not available. Many of the folks here don't share their shep face codes, or don't share their favorite shep's face codes.

However, you might check out http://www.masseffec...s.com/index.php and search for ELE08. she's the gal who made drea, and she has several of her older sheps - ones she didn't use - posted there. they're very beautiful also. And several of the regulars here have lovely sheps posted on that site - i imagine they'd say have fun with the shep and please give them credit for making the face if you post screenshots or video.

I assume being stabbed to death by a 23rd century Brutus is not part of this plan

Ooh cryogenic freezing. That's an interesting option. "Wake me if the Reapers come back."

Hmmmm... too pompous.

I think something more like www.tuningnews.net/news/080429/aston-martin-amv10-hr-04.jpg would be perfect for Shep. It's mean, elegant and shouts badgirl all at the same time.

Looks like twitter has died down on fmeshep with E3 round the corner.  Guess we will have to renew our questions afterwards. Plus we have to make sure that trailer is just as awesome as the one they will release during the convention!   B)

Im sure there will be lots of screenies to we can hack apart and improve upon!  :innocent:

I know this is about performance tweaks and this is not a tweaks thread, but I wanted to post it here since I know many of you who play ME2 on PCs do some tweaking. Some of you have done a LOT of tweaking.B)

Some of you may have noticed that my recent screenies are better quality than older ones. I stumbled on a couple of settings (on a forum for another UE3 game) that have enabled me to take my lighting and shadow settings up to higher detail levels without killing my frame rates (I play on a laptop so my GPU is borderline). If you want to see if it helps you, you can edit them using the ME2 Coalesced Editor (Sage has really good info on getting started with the Coalesced Editor on her blog here. It's in the context of setting up the FlyCam, but the principles are the same.)

BIOEngine
[MemoryPools]
FLightPrimitiveInteractionInitialBlockSize=
FModShadowPrimitiveInteractionInitialBlockSize=

The value you enter is in MB, and defines the initial amount of memory the engine sets aside for storing lighting and shadow primitives. I believe 512 is the default for each, but you can safely increase each to up to about 1/4 your total RAM. (The sum of the two values should be no more than half your total RAM.) Since my machine has 16GB, I set each one to 4096. (e.g., if your machine has 4GB of RAM, set each value to 1024. if 8GB, set each to 2048, etc.)

No guarantees, of course -- your results may vary depending on the characteristics of your system -- but it worked for me.

It does helps alittle, Skaldfish. Thanks for the tip. :)

/snip

I tried it and I can't honestly say I saw an improvement. But since I only have 4GB of RAM, I changed those settings from 512 to 1024. Perhaps that's not noticeable.

Also, with these new numbers, shouldn't MassEffect2.exe use more memory ? It always was around 800 ~ 900 MB. That hasn't changed.

-------

Posted Image

Sorry it didn't help you. I'm sure it depends on your other lighting and shadow settings, but I havrn't taken the time to try different combinations to see exactly what settings might impact the use of those pools. My memory usage definitely increased when I increased the size of the pools. My minimum frame rate increased by 8-10 fps on the igher-level settings I had changed to. Not huge but significant in borderline situations.

eh, I'm not sure that Sheaprd's a copy or a clone, I think ti's the real deal. Brain function is just electricity running through the actuall matter memerios are genetic (muscle memory for example) and interuppted brian function is like the power going out in a building. Lazarus was basically fixing the blown out generator which "restored power" to Shepard's brain after the outage bringing things back to normal with memories intact due to shepard's genetic material.

I think we just have to accept it and move on. If we want the "resurrection" to be believable, it just isn't going to hold up. Shepard's suit leak deprived her of oxygen. She lost consciousness before she hit the atmosphere, then turned into a shooting star and fell to the ground from orbit. Even if her neurons hadn't become necrotic from loss of oxygenation before she entered the atmosphere, her brain tissue was cooked inside her skull during re-entry, and a cooked brain is never going to be a brain again. So disbelief has to be suspended without some additional explanation, which we don't have. I can buy that her suit had some unspecified properties that offered additional protection, but the heat of re-entry followed by an unbraked drop to the ground would require a helluva suit.

That said, I probably care more about realism than I should considering the medium.

I’m just going with it as well rather than spend too much time thinking on how the resurrection is actually possible. I assume Kate’s got a lotta cybernetics in her body along with cloned body parts and that nanotech was involved but I’m also assuming that there’s scientific methods in the future that we don’t  know about.

I did do a major *headdesk* when I found out about the resurrection plot but I’m just accepting it as a cheesy plot device like one other major scene in ME2 that shall remain nameless.

But back on topic of femshep! Random glowy biotics picture.

Ahh but even with speed (which she didn't rlly have) she wouldn't have the mass for atmosphere re-entry would she?
I assumed she got lost in some sort of (maybe decaying) orbit and after dying through lack of oxigen just got frozen solid being in deepspace for so long. Would also make the idea of salvage alot more realistic.

Alltho.. not having that much mass would maybe be the whole reason she couldn't 'bounce off' the atmosphere.
Depends on the gravity of the planet and the composition of it's atmosphere aswell I reckon.
