I follow the links through the Bioware site to the Origin store, but it doesn't let me actually go through with the pre-order purchase.

Edit: TotP FemShep!

Lili: I like this, it is awesome, beyond awesome in fact.

@ME3 stuff
Alright, I am really happy. I mean it'd be better with FemShep, yes, however, Ashley and Garrus look awesome, Ashley looks hot, and I love Garrus' new armor and his scars. Lili will be quite happy, despite the war, in ME3. I cannot wait to run all my Sheps through ME3, and I can't wait to see some of the others. The game looks epic, I so want it now....NOW! This is Kathryn Shepard -- pure paragon infiltrator.  However, she did take the shot while looking through the scope to impress Garrus.

I love how the colour of her armor matches Garrus's B) was it intentional?

Yes.   Very IntentionalPosted Image.
They are showing the loyality to one another and Garrus and Shepard are officially together at the end of ME 2Posted Image.

She looks like a BOSS. I can't believe she agrees to being called "Penny".

Perhaps that is why everyone calls her "Shepard", or "Commander".

Just a note: went to my local Gamestop in person, where they keyed in my preorder as normal edition because CE wasn't in the system yet. They told me to call in a week so I can just have my order transferred to the CE version whenever it's in the system. :)

So I woke up this morning and went to work early to catch the E3 news from my desk in the Teacher's Room before classes start. I saw the Mass Effect 3 trailer, titled "The Fall of Earth", and at first I was like...

http://cloud.steampo...EF2B4748357A13/
The hell you say?

I really really don't want ME3 to be an Earth-focused game. Seriously. Unless they pull a Halo 3 and bury some hidden technology there for combatting the Reapers, then Earth has no tactical advantage for a Reaper attack. Especially given the concept of the (realistically wrong) ideas presented in the game about human genetic variation, as that would mean there is no reason to suspect that whatever Shepard has genetically will be shared by anyone else, especially on Earth. It has no military value, as Arcturus is the center of Alliance Government and military headquarters.

And, if they do hide some anti-reaper tech. on Earth, then I really really hope Admiral Hackett busts Shepard down from Commander to Master Chief Petty Officer. :P

Anyway, those were my initial impressions, until it was confirmed to me by both @manveerheir and @dsilvermanea that the "Fall of Earth" subtitle was only for the trailer. So my initial negative reaction has abated a bit, and now I'm more like...

http://cloud.steampo...9C731DBC7CAAA4/
Well, I guess a "wait and see" attitude won't hurt...

And, while there has been no indication that such a trailer will ever come to pass (that I am aware of, though I've been doing my best to avoid ME3 spoilers), my imagination can't help but wonder at the possibility of future trailers between now and release with titles like "The Fall of Palaven" or "The Fall of Ilium" or something like that... And when I imagine things like that I get like...

http://cloud.steampo...A725D6D1A2A3F8/
Awwww yeeaaaahhh...

So, that is my rollercoaster of a morning on this side of the planet. I went from "can't wait to see the E3 trailer" to "WTF IS THIS??" to "Well, maybe it's not what I fear" to back to my usual "cautiously hopeful". Whew.

So... Still excited to see what FemShep media they release after E3 ends. ^_^

And then I go look at the official ME3 website, especially the bullet points in the info section, and I find myself feeling disappointment again. (linking, rather than quoting, for those who want to avoid any kind of potential spoilerage)

I know you are all excited, and I don't mean to be a downer, but I have a suspicion that this will not be a pre-order or even a launch-day buy for me. I'll wait for you all to praise or lambast it, and then consider paying full price or waiting for the first Steam Sale (maybe summer 2012).

We'll see.

Well I think you have to keep in mind that they're not marketing the game to you, but the marketing does not necessarily represent the game (femshep is a good example =] )

However I may feel about what they've shown so far, they're getting my money. I'm not going to abandon the series this far in. Plus, it'll be nice to actually be able to purchase one of these games on launch day (I only got into the series last November).

Yeah, I know it's not being marketed to me, and eventually they will get some money from me, because I also won't leave the series unfinished. It's just a question of how much money they will get from me and when I will finish the story. ;)

I'm just disappointed to see the pan-galactic epic that was ME1 (possibly, apparently) dwindle to yet another "Earth is the most important place in the universe" cliche. <_<

Still cautiously hopeful for an epic and awesome game, but less hopeful for the type of epic and awesome I wanted and that I felt Mass Effect deserved. All my own opinions of course. YMMV.

Earth is only one of the many planets we're visiting in ME3, and only one of the planets we visited in the demos, but I get what you're saying.

Wait---whaaaa???:o

You basically feel disappointed because a list that details probably 1/15th of the in-game features don't look exciting to you? I'm completely not understanding something here! ME3 is about fighting off the Reapers. We knew this would happen since ME1. ME2 cut a lot of feautures, and ME3 is brining most of them back, or adding new features entirely! What is there to be disappointed about?

If you're worried about exploration, deeper personal relationships, evolving characters, more customization, heavier RPG elements, etc etc, let me--hell, someone help me out here--let us assure you that they'll be in the game!!!

I'm not gonna be able to buy ME3 because I'll be at college, and I am not bringing a $500+ rig/console with me to school dorms. Don't decide not to buy ME3 because a tiny and almost completely uninformative bullet list some how doesn't sound very good to you :crying:

I just ranted, and it's because I've heard several people on the forums state that they aren't happy with the road ME3 is taking. Sorry if I came off as too strong.
