I remember doing 4 consecutive play-throughs of ME1 to get both Artemis and Athene to level 60 when I "reset" their characters and did their canon run-throughs. By that 4th play-through, it was starting to feel more like work than play.


I really need to get back to the Mass Effect universe, though. I have Artemis about half-way through her canon ME2 play-through (had to go back to the beginning with her, because I messed up with Kelly and accidentally went down the romance-stripper path with her), and pretty much only just starting out with Athene's (she's done Kasumi's loyalty mission and got her Spectre status back, and that's it). But I've barely been playing for a few weeks.

Steam daily deals and sales have been distracting me.

Just for fun, here's Artemis's canon skill set and ME1 paragon/renegade ratio at level 60. I took this just before using the glitch on Noveria with Lorik Q'in to crank up her renegade score in order to get the high renegade import bonus along with the paragon import bonus in ME2... that way I could have some conversation options open that I wouldn't normally, like being able to take the renegade dialog choice when letting Grunt out of his tank ("My enemies threaten galaxies" is just too good a line to pass up). So, it's a good reflection of her "true" paragade-ness. She tends to get higher in renegade in ME2, though.

Yeah. It's starting to feel like work. To be honest, I doubt that I will get any other Shep to LVL 60. One male and one female is enough (=2 playthroughs per character). I haven't been playing Mass Effect (or anything else) that much lately either. The weather is like a bride, everything is green, beautiful and warm. Also I grabbed AC1 from Steam when Ubisoft week was going on (finished it just recently).

Ahh, good point.  I guess they figure they'll get around to smoothying everyone else in due time anyway.

This would be an opportunity to make a tasteless joke about France, but I won't.  Those jokes are funny, if not entirely accurate, and I really don't want to ruffle the feathers of any French folks that post here.


Edit:

Makes me wonder if they'll make an allusion to the Battle of Normandy we just commemorated earlier this week.  The final act of ME3 might include the SSV Normandy leading a counter-invasion of Earth, starting with Normandy, France.

Long-time lurker, first-time poster, and lifetime FemShep fan here, finally inspired to post thanks to all you great folks.

FemShep is getting some love from PC Gamer magazine, the self-proclaimed “world’s number one PC games magazine.”  In the UK edition of the July issue, there are two interesting mentions:

In the “Incoming” section for when new games are going to be released, they say this: 

“Just as we were really starting to salivate over this, BioWare yank it back to next year to make sure Commander Shepard’s final mission is worthy of her.  Yes, her.  Shepard remains a girl.”

And then later on in the letters section they say this in response to a letter:

“As far as we know, Mass Effect 3 won’t be set on Earth, but the rest of the galaxy as Shepard races to build an army to help her retake it (yes, her, whatever BioWare’s box art thinks).”

Note that in the previous issue they still had Sheploo on the cover, and in another article in this issue they refer to Shep as he, with the caveat “I’ll call him a he, because most gamers chose the male Shepard.”

But it’s nice to see a major publication so deliberately giving FemShep some props

That was one of the good things about that PCG article.  You'll also notice that when they did the small diagram charting Shep's adventures in ME1 & ME2 (it was a boxout near the end). Shep was referred to as 'her'.  I thought that was great, as it shows that at least PCG's got its head screwed on!
