@Ottemis I knew it wasn't just me! :D

@khevan I'm trying to come up with an expression that basically says 'cool story, bro' but without any sarcasm or a**holery in general because I mean it, I actually enjoyed reading your post! It's wonderful to discover a character that you make alive at first but then she kinda acquires life on her own. I can't say I share your experience on manshep first, then femshep. I do have one manshep, but I have to admit Evandra is Commander Shepard to me. (Well, she and another Shepard that I love as well, Jih.) By the way, if you'd prefer having Ashley as a LI, I should let you know that there is a way to do that with femshep, too.

She's turning out to be more law-abiding and by the book than I thought, but with a snarky, no-B.S. attitude, and she doesn't suffer fools very well.

My current has the same kind of attitude, fun really =)

I'm glad you liked Rani's story so far (and no, no plans on fanfic.  I have not the talent that others in this thread do, and no wish to view myself negatively in that light...lol).  As for the femShep/Ashley romance, I've played ME1 too many times as a maleShep.  Ashley, to me, just doesn't feel right as a lesbian romance option.  This is by no means saying that she can't be in anyone elses' playthroughs, just that it doesn't feel right to me.

In any case, Rani's story is quickly becoming my favorite story overall, and the one I'm getting closer to considering as my "canon," simply because this particular FemShep is just soooo kickass.  It's refreshing to see a strong female protagonist, one who can kick ass, but be "feminine" at the same time.  Hopefully that made sense without sounding parochial or patriarchal, which is not my intent at all.

I mean, MaleShep is a great protagonist, a great center for the Mass Effect stories to circle around, but he's typical.  It's very common to see that kind of character in stories, whether game-based, literary or film, etc.  That makes him, in many ways, fairly generic.

FemShep, on the other hand, depending on how you play her, isn't the die-hard, stone-cold **** so often seen when females are portrayed as "tough."  It's perfectly fine if that's the way you see your particular femShep, but that, too, to me at least, is fairly typical, if not as common as MaleShep.  Rani, and quite a few other femSheps I've read about in this thread, have that rare combination of kickass and femininity that's hard to pull of in literature without it sounding off.  I served in the US Army for 7 years, and quite a bit of that time was around female soldiers(I'm male, btw, if that wasn't obvious...)  Most of those women didn't fall into the stereotypes we so often see about military women.  The ability that FemShep has, to be true to life in that regard, both hard when she needs to be and soft when she wants to be, is very appealing to me as an observer.

Yeah, long post, but I'm definately becoming more and more of a fan of "FemShep" in general, and my Rani in particular, and I'm loving the ride.  Posted Image

Interesting. I think mine might be the lighter shades, though. The blues that are selectable on the left side of the bar? There's another set of blues on the right side that are a bit darker. I spent like 10 minutes just going back and forth undecided!

In the end I think I decided on the lighter blue because it reminded of the old Mega Force toys.

I think I've found a way to fit our differing pre-service histories into a working 'sister' story.
(Spacer/War Hero - Earthborn/Ruthless)
I could work it out some if you're interested, don't know whether it'd be classed as any good though.

omg. there's an in-game N7 hoodie as a casual outfit for shep in the CE? dude! i remember being one of the folks who asked for that way back when one of the devs said "what outfit would you want shep to have?" i was half-joking, but that would be cool.

actually, we need to package up all the mods ELE and scampermax have done and send them on into shep's ME3 wardrobe...

On the facecode front: The site where you could translate a facecode into slider positions is gone, does anyone know of another site where you can do that ?
My search has proved fruitless so far

It's gone don't bother looking. However the conversion isn't that hard the system is 1 - 9 and then A = 10, B = 11 and so on for every letter. There is no zero position so a 1 is all the way to the left, then it's just a matter of counting the clicks to the right.

Doesn't the face code skip from N to P?  No "O"?  Or am I mistaken?

I'm so sorry for your loss.  I too just lost my grandma a couple of months ago.  The pain will fade, but the love wont.  Treasure her memory.

There is a stupid rule like that, I remember it from when I did the mathematical conversion to get a Face Code out of a ME1 Shepard. It's only a concern at the extreme end of some very select sliders like Chin Height. Most of them don't go high enough for it to be of any concern.

Something to keep in mind though . . .

yeah. no letter "O". i guess they didn't want it to get confused with zero? but there is no zero, so... i don't get that, but this is true. my shep's face code has some major extremes on the sliders, and this kept goofing me up at first.

After thinking about it a lot I finnaly decided on my first ME3 Fem Shep playthrough character. It will be my Bloodrayne Shep who is a earthborn war hero and loves Garrus! <3

She has a personal stake in Earth and is in love with everyones favorite Turian to be the most involved in ME3. Shes a badass Soldier who carries a Reveant AR around like a boss and her favorite armor colors are Red and Blue. Shes also a Paragade with a full Paragon and Renegade bar who had no deaths on suicide mission and unlocked all 12 squadies. Got full Renegade first then used Samara paragon glitch to get full Paragon. Im so proud of her!

Maybe having a zero or anything like a zero in the code would be like trying to divide by zero and thus Shepard would explode.

Okay maybe that's silly but so is skipping letters that look like numbers when you don't use that number!

Perhaps they were afraid someone would type in a "0" instead of an "O" and it would do weird things to the CC. Not sure about the "N" though...

@CaseyDHudson Seeing posts about mocap for m&f Shepard on the forums. Will there be a difference in their animation in the game for #ME3?

Casey Hudson
@Gam3rG1rl23 We've always used a combination of gender-specific anims and shared ones. We have more specific anims to choose from in #ME3

*delurk*

So, is this a good sign of BW putting more effort into femshep's anims? I'm not sure what "specific animations" is referring to, but in the end it sounds like there will be more variety.

RE: FemShep specific animations...

I just want FemShep (and female squadmates, for that matter) to have better walking/running animations. Not the limp-wristed hussy-shuffle that femHawke has in DA2, but something better than a gorilla with constipation.

Plus, I hope the devs pay attention to certain seated animations in ME3. If my femShep is in armor, or t-shirt and pants, I really don't care how she sits, but if she's got a short dress on, ie: the LBD from the Kasumi DLC, she really shouldn't be sitting with her knees shoulder width apart. I don't need a "proper" posture, legs crossed, etc, but something at least a little more demure, please.

That sitting like a dude drove me crazy.

My femshep is not packin' so can she please sit with her legs closed. Is that too much to ask?  Posted Image

Anyone know what happened to the site that converts the ME2 facecode to ME1 sliders, or where another version of it might be found?  I've been messing with faces for my other two femShep concepts which I still haven't played yet, I'd like to be able to go back and forth between the two CCs.
